Jack Astor's - Dartmouth (Dartmouth Crossing)
In all seriousness, we take real pride in our food. Try our Cluckin’ Fresh Chicken Fingers, made and seasoned with fresh, never frozen chicken tenders. This isn’t run-of-the-mill pub grub. Our Band of Chefs are influenced by a wide variety of tastes and have travelled across the globe to gain inspiration.
But outside of the kitchen, we find it hard to take ourselves seriously. We have an Elvis booth. For no particular reason. Folks, that really does say it all. We’re sports fanatics, music nuts and love a good joke. If you’re into at least one of those things, we should hang out.
Always love this restaurant. I enjoy coloring on the paper table cloths while waiting for food. I'm a big kid at heart....The staff is always pleasant and fast...
The food tasted good on the way in- but I was sick a few hours after :(
Service was slow, price was high for the small portion sizes, food quality was average. We have had better at Jack's before, not impressed this last visit.
Just dawn good...and the rusty squirrel ...a birthday dinner and wpuld do it again.....
Great food and our server who I think her name was Carla, was great!
The portions were very filling and the milkshake was great
Our server Bethany was amazing. The epitome of a great server!
We had lunch with a friend here, it was our third visit since October. The food and service are pretty good but the price point is a bit higher than say at Montana’s. I like that there is a great variety in the demographics of the clientele from you to old, people on their own to families etc.
Atmosphere, and food was lovely. The service by Andrea was Exceptional!
My daughter has allergies to peanuts and eggs and this is the only restaurant in town that she feels safe to eat at. Our waitress on November 4th was so fun and friendly that I wish she could have joined us!!
As usual, dinner was great, the service was great, the only thing I didn’t like was the $9 brownie in a mug for dessert I think it was just personal preference but $9 was worth it.
Very expensive for what you get. Cost is $70 for lunch
First time going, the server was lovely and gave us some fries when my husband didn't like the rice (he's picky, the rice was fine). Overall happy with our experience.
Way to loud to enjoy conversation. Service was good.
Loud music was very annoying. Its not a night club, its a restaurant. Could barely talk to people across the table.
Server was not around much. Had to track her down twice.
Food is excellent.
Lots of room on the table.
Our waiter was absolutely awesome!!! So kind and just willing to go it out of her way. She was very patient with my kids and my niece.
Very well mannered and put going :)
The food was fantastic, the service was great and the craft beer selection was outstanding.
I Absolutely love Jack Astors food And the service was exceptional
The music was much TOO LOUD. My friends and I go there for the food and for catch-up conversation. The conversation on Saturday was not pleasant as the background music was too loud and mad conversations hard to hear. Ok
Our server Nick was amazing. He made our night memorable. Thank you Nick !
Overpriced, small portions and too noisy, the loud music makes everyone have to yell to be heard. Never again!
There are really not enough words to describe how much we love Jack Astor's. While we find the music volume a bit overwhelming, it's worth it. We travel to this location every 2-3 months and always make a point of stopping in. We're never disappointed! It pleases us and our son who is under 10.
We went for mother's day lunch. The restaurant was not busy at all but we waited for 20 minutes before someone took our drink order and then 15 more minutes before they brought our drinks over. My young child was not happy with this which put a damper on the start of lunch. ... We ordered well done steaks so we expected the wait for be a little bit and it easily took another 30 minutes before the food came out.
The food was excellent and the waitress was nice. However the amount of time we had to wait for the drinks and food was a mood killer. I would have understood if the place was busy but there were at least 6 tables empty on our side while we were there.
Over all, okay experience.
We (4 of us) were celebrating my sons 18th birthday and it was a good experience food was wonderful and most surprising was at the end of our meal Kelsie ( the server) notice my sons father had written Happy Birthday Cody on the table so she brought him out a special piece of cake, that made the experience absolutely wonderful!!!
We will be back!
Food and ambiance were good enough. Our server (Nick) was excellent!
I was not happy as the reservation I made on Open Table was not sent through to the restaurant and thus, they did not have a reservation for us. Luckily it was a snowy night and they were able to fit us in. I would not recommend using this service to make a reservation! They should take it off their website as they told us it happens all the time.
Made my first reservation through "Open Table" and everything was spot on. They were expecting us and even took care of the request I had included when booking. Great job!
Took our sales guys there for a Christmas lunch. Food was great, as usual, but with a suggestion to bring back the Asian Nachos (won tons).
Kelsea looked after us and was fantastic.
Had reservations made the day before. Arrived 20 minutes early. Table not ready. Sat in bar for a drink and was informed that we would be notified when ready. Half an hour later noted that table was empty. Went to table. No menus were brought over. Once everyone seated had to then after 10 min. Lift our drinks to have brown paper laid on table. Food mediocre at best. Best meal was tofu stir fry. David the waiter was awesome. Price was expensive for quality of food. Thank you for asking for feedback. Hopefully this helps your business.
Enjoyed my food once again! Would always recommend for delicious food!
Our group will often stop by for supper before heading off to the movie theatre. My favourite dish is the chicken rice bowl. Last week 4 out of 5 of us ordered that very dish.
My only disappointment was that my son didn't get sung to on his birthday. Everyone did a great job making him feeling special, but I thought the singing to you on your birthday was an automatic. Maybe it isn't done anyone?
We had heard rave reviews about Jack AStors (from friends who had eaten at the NL location) So while in NS on vacation from NB we decided to try it. It was ok, nothing wrong with the food, but it was nothing to write home about as our friends had talked about
it was fun, we had a good time. crayons broke though, invest in better crayons
We tend to eat out at a wide variety of places, and often in different locations. For my birthday, I chose Jack Astor's.. I was pleased with the overall experience. Waiters are friendly, approachable, and overall, made sure we had a good experience. I only had a poutine, and was over the top amazed at the production of such a simple meal. Best Value, Price, and service we have had in a long time. I do, however, wish the menu was had a wider variety, but I had heard they recently cut the menu down. I will recommend to people I know, and I will be back.
My steak was cooked perfectly, but had zero flavour (the sauce was bland and watery). My wife is gluten free, but her choice had undercooked vegetables and uncooked tuna. It was extremely warm in the restaurant and the noise level was unreal. Just a very unpleasant dining experience all around.
