The restaurant was basically empty, we told the waitress we were going to a show . Our reservation was for 6 pm, the show was at 8 pm. First she said we didn't have a reservation because they were not working with Open Table any longer, which didn't seem to be a problem since the place was empty. After much ado about nothing she deigned to seat us, then because she was so busy with the non exsistant other people she forgot about us. When we did get our food my pork chop could have been used as shoe leather it was so over cooked. Never again would we go back to this restaurant.
We were here for the New Year's tasting menu. My wife and I had different items for each course and everything was delicious!
The food was really yummy! My table ordered a bunch of appetizers and drinks and we were all very pleased.
Forgettable . Surly waitress. Vacant salad with pear & blue cheese. Not very clean.
The food and service were very good. But a couple large parties were there and the place was very noisy. Very difficult to carry on a conversataion.
Had the Thanksgiving pre fix. Went for the steak which was good but took long to be served and was almost cold. Tasted good, had it been warm I would add another star. Pot de creme dessert was taken to go and was amazing.the rest of my table had the Turkey plate and two out of three weren't into it; father in law ate none of it. Would return to try standard menu.
Best so far except for John Ashes
We were in town overnight looking for a good place for dinner. We found Jack and Tony's online and took a chance. The cocktails were excellent, the NY steak was great, and our waiter Ben was fabulous. We shared the steak dinner and Ben had the kitchen split the plate before it was brought to the table, no muss, no fuss. I would definitely visit Jack and Tony's again when I'm in town.
Great food and excellent service (sorry buddy I forgot your name) from a wait staff that knows its whiskey. Probably my 10th dinner out here. The place was very very busy due to the bike race... glad we made reservations!
Food was as great as always. Had another great time there.
We had a great dining experience....Esther suggested some really delicious items on both the drink and dining menu. The meats and fish are hand cut in the restaurant, we had both the steak and salmon which were fresh and delicious. My husband asked for a rare Irish whiskey and they were happy to oblige. The Bananas Foster was amazing! They currently have a brown sugar cinnamon ice cream served with the Bananas Foster that forced us to finish the dish and refrain from licking the bowl. Will definitely take a high top window seat again for the food, libations and street viewing again!
Food very good. Very pleased with service. Not so happy with the tall tables in the dining room. They are quite uncomfortable for having dinner - more suitable as bar tables.
Overall it was a good experience. I had the BLTA which tasted very good but small portioned (half sandwich on chibatta bread.
One of the worst experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. To many things wrong to list. Entire bill had to be comped, because of the woefully inadequate service. The bathroom was filthy, with no soap available for hand washing. Hopefully there was another better equipped lavatory for wait and food service personnel. Jan O. Sacramento.
It's really too bad that the food is so good and the service is so bad. Waited over 20 minutes for someone to even come to the table. Server mixed up drink orders and then brought the second round after we were finished.
We have been to Jack & Tony's many times. As usual, the food was very good. However, this time the wait staff was a little on the forgetful side. Our waitress was training another waitress and our service suffered. We are trying to give the waitress some slack as she had more to do than normal, but, it wasn't busy whie we were there and this hsouldn't have been an issue.
Jack & Tony's is so consistently great, We try to eat there once a month.
Very nice waitress who served nicely. Food all very good, but limited menu.
Our waiter was awesome (guy with tattoo sleeves), he made the experience so great! 10/10 would recommend!
Terrible steaks, had to send back shrimp cocktail, wine cellar nearly empty.
Had early lunch before matinee at 6th Street Playhouse, very convenient, good service, menu not too large with a good variety. I had the bacon wrapped scallops with risotto and an apple reduction (delicious) with a glass of white wine. My companion had the veggie burger and she was also happy with her selection. The prices are very reasonable, you have the option of sitting at the bar, in the restaurant area (we selected a booth) or near the front where the windows are opened to get a nice breeze, service was nice and not rushed (I did not get the name of our server/waitress but she was very helpful). I plan on returning the next time I am in that area.
Nice place for a good, fairly priced dinner. The limited menu has some good, but not great meals. I would have like a larger selection of salads and, although the appetizers are all good, a better selection of starters.
Our server, Ben, was excellent. Ben let us know he had worked as a bartender and was a great asset in guiding me through the large list of bourbons. They do have some specialty cocktails that looked good. Ben knew his menu well and was able to describe the dishes we were interested in. Food came quickly, perhaps too quickly considering we had barely finished the salad we were sharing when our entrees came. Since Ben knew we were going to share a salad, it would have been nice if he had brought service plates for us or even spit the salad.
Overall it was a very pleasant meal in an nice restaurant where we could hear each other without yelling.
The restaurant is situated in the historic district of Santa Rosa. Food is pub style and well prepared. Even though we were the first customers into the restaurant for lunch, the restrooms were filthy and smelled as if they hadn't been cleaned in a long while. Made you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen.
Fantastic food and drink. Great service - Cooper is so attentive and sweet. My time there was excellent.
Enjoyed our meal immensely. One of the best steaks I've ever had plus excellent cocktails and service.
Great service, excellent food and perfect cocktails.
Our party of three chose from the prefix menu--three courses, three different items--and we all did a taste test. Everything was so delicious! And the ambiance was as good as the food.
Superb food this is a whiskey bar so amazing choice of whiskey
They were however out of an ipa on tap.not good for a sat night.still enjoyable ..butterscotch pudding made from real scotch ! Amazing
One of our go to spots in railroad square. Great full bar and appetizers too.
The food and whiskey list never disappoint. The butternut squash soup was bathable-delicious. I'm a bit sorry I didn't bring home a vat. The New York steak was truly rare and tender. The only downside to the experience was the flight of bourbons. They were ordered based on the menu choices, but there were two substitutions when the flight arrived with no warning or explanation, thus three stars for the overall experience. The first time my friend and I frequented this restaurant, we ordered two flights without this problem, so I'm hoping our recent visit was a fluke.
Great whisky tasting menu! Enjoyed the food, the service and overall ambiance.
On Christmas Eve you hope for a restaurant with a nice atmosphere and a nice menu selection with choices prepared with care. I don't expect service to be the greatest on a holiday, but the server "Cooper" has provided that exceptional service for two years in a row. He's not a friend of the family, but he treats you like you are. It's rare that you come across that sort of well trained, yet amicable service these days. The menu has something for every palate and all of our choices didn't disappoint. I ordered their mussels as a starter, (which can be risky in some restaurants) and they were fresh tasting and delicious. My husband and I were very satisfied with the entire experience!
Good food and good service. I had the strip steak along with parsley soup - both done to perfection.
Excellent food and service. We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner here so much. Special Christmas menu looked amazing, but we ordered off the regular menu and everything was delicious. Warm hospitality and atmosphere!!
Excellent food. Great Value. Large open windows to view the hsitoric downtown of Santa Rosa.
Very friendly staff.
Amazing food and the whisky selections are far better than any other bar.
Cute restaurant, Great Service, food was just good, I was expecting better tasting food
lunch time is very quiet. It seems dinner and cocktails would be the claim to fame here.
First time dining out for Thanksgiving. First time dining at Jack and Tonys. Figured the traditional turkey meal would be fast, fresh and hot. Received none of the above. How could it take 45 minutes to plate a pre cooked meal? Wine pours are tiny, cocktails came in 3 different size glasses. Service was non existent but I'm not sure if it was the servers or the kitchen and bar. I will try them one more time from the bar...one can only hope!
We were a party of four, short wait before we were seated. Had to ask a busboy for water, after our drink order was taken by the waitress. There were several larger parties , not enough staff . Seemed we'd been forgotten, she finally delivered drinks, & apologized for the the extended wait. One drink order was incorrect, but she made good on it. Food was good, once it arrived. Waitress was accommodating after initial lengthy wait, did the best she could.
We've been there before for Happy Hour in the bar, table seating is limited , but had a better experience.
