J. Razzo's Ratings and Reviews
Of four in our party, only two thought the food was great. For one of the others, his salmon was dry and over cooked and the asparagus was undercooked. For the other, the eggplant was mediocre. Perhaps pre-prepared and heated up. We should have ordered what our friends did: great lasagna and very good chicken parmesan.
Went to J. Razzo's for Valentine's Day, table was immediately available. Food was delicious, waiter was attentive. I have a feeling if I had asked for special requests they'd have been more than willing to accommodate.
My only wish is that we hadn't forgotten our leftover lasagna!
If you’re looking for authentic Italian food at a fair price, give J. Razzo’s the opportunity to serve you. The restaurant offers a nice wine selection and the service is excellent. We’ve had dinner here several times and always enjoyed our dining experience.
Save your money or spend it somewhere else. Service was fine but not exceptional. Food was incredibly bland. My wife had veal parmesan, beet salad, and ice cream. I had risotto balls, walleye, and tiramisu. Risotto balls were tolerable and ice cream was good (but who screws up ice cream?), but everything else was disappointing. I don’t like putting restaurants on blast but I would hate for someone spend $90 (with tip) on dinner and get the result we got.
We went during devour Indy. The service and appetizers were great.. but the veal Parmesan was paperthin and when I pointed it out to the waiter, he became defensive and our service changed from good to essentially non existent. He actually said, ' I didn't cook it', and threw our check on the table as he passed by... very disappointed in this, as I wasn't blaming him for the quality of food, just pointing it out. Better options out there.
We were out for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful time. We had the seafood linguini, lasagna, tortellini and manicotti. We raved about each of our dinners, so good and serving sizes were generous. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was our first time there but won’t be our last.
Thank you for a great experience.
My husband and I LOVE this restaurant! They have an amazing selection of Italian dishes that are made with the owners family recipes. Everything we've ever tried has been outstanding! My favorite is the Angel Hair Shrimp with Asparagus and of course, the garlic bread sticks...Delicious!
This was our first time at J Razzos. We had a 6:30 reservation. Arrived and was told our table was not ready and was told she had no idea when it would be ready. We sat at the bar and waited 35 min for a table. After being seated, a waitress came and greeted us and told is someone would be there with water. We waited 20 min for the water and it was another 10 min after that that we were ask to order any food or beverages! I will say the food was good hut the service here needs some help.
How do restaurants stay in business when they are out of food? They were out of the duck breast but didn’t tell us until after the order was placed. Same thing happened with dessert. Scallops were well done and so was the salmon but the bruschetta was awful as was the risotto.
It was so disappointing that we decided to remove J Razzo’s from our list.
My only complaint is that we were seated at a very narrow booth-the table itself was narrow and we kept kicking each other under the table and we are not tall people. I think that booth needs to be converted to a regular table that is wider. The food was crowded on the table top, too. Otherwise the food was delicious, the restaurant is very nicely decorated, and we will go back. We will just ask for a different table.
