Arrived at the restraunt for my girlfriends birthday. We ordered and had our appetizer, entree in no more than 15mins after being seated. Had dessert and paid the bill, was out of there in less than 45mins
Turkey was tender and moist. Gravy and stuffing was very good. The pecan pie was excellent. Service was excellent.
Our worst experience there, and we’re regular diners. Putting everyone in the bar made it very loud, and there was a customer at the bar who was so loud we could not hear each other at our table. The servers were good, but they need to re-think their capacity spacing, which they likely did to allow for service by 2 servers (bartender and other).
Very good food. Pasta Diablo and pork shank were excellent. The carrot cake was a little disappointing. Good but not outstanding and small slice.
Food was very good and the server was very attentive.
Experience was awesome as always....great food and exceptional service!
I'm not really sure what was happening on Saturday night at J Liu, but frankly i'm embarrassed we took our out of town guests here. We've been dining here for many years and I've booked many events both corporate and personal here. Upon walking into the not busy restaurant we were seated in the bar area which is fine, but there were cleaning buckets on the bar which is just unappetizing to look at. Our apps were delivered in a reasonable amount of time, but did not look appealing (the entire meal looked like it had been prepared earlier in the day and then microwaved). That's about the best part of the meal. The entrees took forever to come out, were cold and also looked like reheated food. My dad ordered the ribs and the mac n cheese seriously looked like hot bar mac and cheese from giant eagle at the end of the night. The Jason's chicken (I think that's the name?) were swimming in sauce. My salmon was completely raw and uncooked in the center and came with a side of sauce that had splashed all over the random bowl of it that they brought it out with. I did ask for a new piece of salmon because it was inedible and when it finally came out, it came with drowning in sauce, which was not how it had been sent out before. I opted to not eat it. While we were finishing dinner, they started cleaning around us. I've worked in restaurants, so I get it, but i've never dragged out the bar mats before my customers even had their check. In fact we had to ask for the check which makes no sense, because i'd rather have paid and left before our server was handling trash during our meal. There needed to be either more people working, or fewer reservations because it was a disaster. I honestly would have said more during our dinner, but like I said we had out of town guests and it was my dad's 70th birthday, so I just wanted to be as pleasant as possible while willing the dinner to be over. Really not up to par especially during Covid where cleanliness and food prep is concerned.
We were well spaced from other patrons. The waiter was properly attentive. The Manhatten’s we had were outstanding.
Nice place, but empty! Would benefit from a larger patio
This restaurant is ok for a quick bite. For the price I expected more flavor in the food. Good place but definitely not my 1st choice.
There is always a great variety of different food and drinks. We ate outside in a very comfortable and safe environment. Will go back soon.
Very safe and comfortable inside dining during COVID-19 pandemic
We tried a staple and new dish and both were amazing! The bar area was cozy and we were able to remain socially distant. Our server/bartender was very friendly and knowledgable. We look forward to getting back soon!
Good food and excellent service. The only negative was you were out of chocolate cake.
Good food , good service
Great food, great service
Service slow..food cold
We are on the patio, and the service and food were both great as usual.
Love the ambience and staff. The entree’s we good but we were not impressed with the appetizers. They tasted like a bad frozen food option.
5th year Anniversary
Very nice dinner on the patio outside. Salmon was very good, as was house salad with ahai tuna. The carrot cake was dry, unfortunately. Otherwise I would have rated the food and the overall experience higher.
Allison was very friendly and gave us the best service we’ve had in awhile! She checked on us making sure we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our dinner and all the food was great.
Great food, great service - all around fun place to eat & drink.
The food was decent but not worth the price.
We love J Liu's because there is something for everyone, even our 10 and 12 year old. Both were pretty much clean platers minus the fact that you get a lot of fried rice!
Our service from Eve was great. I did not appreciate a vein steak (New York strip) and our filet was under cooked. I took our meal home and cooked if off myself.
First time trying your restaurant and will definitely be returning! Great Service, and outstanding food!!!!!
We felt rushed they didn’t give us time to sit and enjoy...
Great atmosphere, great food. Under the circumstances... the waiter was great!
We arrived about 5-10min early food our 7pm reservation and were nicely greeted, seated and given glasses of water. That was the last good think that happened. After numerous attempts to flag the waitress, we finally left at 7:25 having never seen her again. Let’s be clear this restaurant only had about 20 patrons and it appeared quite a few wait staff. As we left the restaurant, we let the hostess know that we had sat at our table for 25 minutes unattended and she just shrugged her shoulders like this was nothing out of the ordinary for this establishment. I read the reviews about poor service but this is the worst place I have ever seen.
Always enjoyable- love the bar area where our favorite ‘Rachel’ takes great care of us! :D ~NB
Great place for lunch meeting - quiet enough for conversation and good food and service. Thanks!
Overall it was good, but we didn't like the fact that the bar was being cleaned up while we were still eating & drinking and it was only a little after 10PM on a Saturday night. I guess this isn't a place where it's encouraged to stay later on a weekend. I would still come back but this place is just for have a meal and then leave.
Tonight I had the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. When we were sat at the table, we waited 10 mins for our waitress before I finally got up and asked the host to get our waitress. She then came over and took our order. I had to interrupt her as she kept passing by our table in order to get drinks. They entire meal, the waitress said maybe a total of 10 words. Once the food came out, both of our chicken dishes were overcooked and dry. I paid the tab and promptly left. I have never had such a poor dining experience and won’t be back. If I could’ve given 0 stars, I would have.
The service is late and our server forgot our appetizer order. The food is tasty.
Food and service is usually very good. We waited for drinks and had to remind our waiter. We learned after the fact that the happy hour drinks are only at the bar.
Excellent food, high quality ingredients and clean flavors without too much fussiness. Service was friendly and mostly attentive. Good portion size, nice value for the same price that you would pay at a chain restaurant for a similat dish of poorer quality.
Great food, service, and nice environment. Enjoyed my dinner!!
Were there for lunch. Food was quite good, very generous portions. Service very attentive
I was expecting a high end experience. But my visit fell short.
Portions were small. Taste was average. And I ordered a Pepsi 3 times before I received one.
The server and door greeter did check on us often, which is good.
I will not go there again. If prices were average, it would be a good place to eat. But if you are paying premium prices, I expect premium food and portions.
