J. Liu Restaurant & Bar of Worthington
Easter Dinner - Always great service and yummy food 🎊
Easter buffet was good. Service by Jeff was spot on. A bit of a wait even with a reservation but that happens.
Easter Dinner with only buffet food. Food was missing in serving containers, cold, some undercooked. Bad service because so busy. Bad value for amount charged. Never again.
This the second time we did Easter brunch here with the family. The first time a few years back was excellent. This time, not so much. We had to park quite a ways away. Our table was upstairs in the back. We had to weave through about 6 very closely set tables. It was loud because the tables were on top of each other. It was akin to a wedding reception, not an Easter brunch. Many of the food choices were empty, cold or of low quality. The Canadian bacon on the eggs Benedict was a thinly sliced deli ham. Very limited options if you didn't want the Asian food or traditional Easter meal. There were no traditional sides that went with the ham or roast beef. The desserts tasted previously frozen. $200 for 5 people for that level of food and ambiance is not at all worth it. We will not be back for another brunch.
Good food. Good service. Quiet atmosphere. We had a reservation and seated quickly.
I had the salmon salad which was very good. I would have chosen another options but it was too expensive for two of us, at least for me. The amount of food seemed enough, 4oz of salmon on the salad. The decor has a modern take on a nautical theme with abstract painted fish on the wall. Dining on a Wednesday seems like a great time since it wasn't busy.
Food and service are always excellent. Shrimp and grits dish should become part of standard menu, truly excellent!
Awesome food, good wine. Prices were decent and staff friendly. Sat down right away
Always my go-to restaurant near Worthington. Great Martinis at the bar, FANTASTIC Lobster Bisque. Servers are polite and attentive. Not a rushed experience.
We like jLiu for the wide selection. There's something for everyone and in two visits, four people each time, we've never had anyone dislike their food.
We celebrated my fiance's dinner on a Saturday evening. The drinks were excellent! The food was delicious. Our waitress was helpful and happy. We will continue to eat here occasionally.
Enjoyable time with a good friend. We did get thrown out of the dining area at 9 - told we could go to bar - a little odd for a higher end restaurant such as this. Only complaint and it didn’t spoil the evening. Food good and serving sizes decent, if not more than expected. Will definitely return
waiter was excellent. food delicious and good value. will come again.
Honestly I don’t know why we bother anymore. This time really did it though.
The bar staff is terrible. Literally the waitress was at our table taking our order and turned full around to talk to other guests about her marathon. We were shocked and looked at each other like is this really happening. She finally turned around and our guest asked if it was a good time for her to take our order. She was rude, never checked in or refilled water, just showed back up with the bill.
The food was over cooked and over sauced. The horrible Les Zeppelin music in the bar was not pleasant. $50 later we won’t be spending our hard earned money here again.
Food was amazing! Would highly recommend. I think both glasses of my wine had turned a bit, tasted a little vinegary but overall great date night!
My husband and I were 20-min. late to our reservation (we have a baby at home and timing can sometimes be difficult to manage - we even had a sitter so we could enjoy an evening out). We were greeted poorly by the host who stressed the fact that we were late arriving and began escorting us to the bar area. When I asked why we were being seated in the bar rather than the dining room, he seemed surprised and asked if that's where we would rather be and added that the dining area would be closing shortly (we arrived before 8:30 p.m. and the restaurant closes at 11 p.m.). I shared my confusion why the dining area would be closing shortly and the bartender who ended up having to serve us seemed surprised why we were seated in her section (rather than the main room). Never having eaten here before, our first impression was extremely poor. We were served cold appetizers to boot. On our way out I asked to speak to the manager who apparently had already left. We won't be going back to this establishment and will never recommend to friends/family.
Excellent service. Good variety on the menu. The cloudless chocolate cake is fabulous!
Took my wife for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed! Our server Breonna was awesome. She did a great job checking and surprised with a free bday dessert. Great job everyone!
Wonderful service at a fave of mine. The chicken was dry in the Chicken Carbonara. My table mates were very satisfied so I didn’t bring my issue to light.
Food was great! Atmosphere was nice, restaurant is large!
I've never had anything but a perfect experience here
J. Liu consistently delivers top notch service and we love their menu items. This is a great place!
The food is always excellent on our visits to J. Liu. Our server was very nice on this recent visit. Our table had two appetizers: calamari and baked avocado. Both were excellent. We also had the blackened tuna, scallops with risotto, and chicken carbonara. Again all perfectly prepared. We all shared the flourless chocolate torte and it was incredible! Nice wine selections too. Very enjoyable evening.
their catfish dish was amazing!
I was very disappointed with the food at the brunch. The menu on line said eggs and eggs Benedict but they ran out of eggs Benedict and that was the only type of egg on the buffet. They made more but the flow of the line was bad. The Prime Rib was cold and just not a good experience. I brought my mom there for her birthday and was embarrassed.
Waited 20 minutes for anyone to even come to the table. Terrible service but good food.
I have had better meals here. Food was OK service was average. Portions seem to be getting smaller.
The food was disappointing. We had Asian inspired meals and we wouldn’t buy again. W
Mismanaged staff ! We waited 45 minutes for food after ordering and then it was served cold. The table of elderly seniors behind us that came in 25 minutes after us got their food served when we did! Not the service we are used to from J Liu
We had a delightful time and experience! The food was very good the service was excellent and it was before not too noisy.
My one main issue was with the host working that evening. My husband and I walked in as she was walking another group to a table. When she returned to the host stand she did not greet us at all or acknowledge us in any way. She was doing something on the computer for a good 45 seconds or so, never looking up to speak to us, even though we were right in front of her. Once she completed her task on the computer she just walked away. By that time another woman, who I assume was the shift manager, had come up front and she was the one to find our reservation and seat us. I don't think the host was intentionally ignoring us but that almost made it worse. Even if she was busy the least she could've done was say hello to us and say she'd be with us in a moment. After all, she was the first impression at the door . Our server was friendly and accomodating and the food was delicious so that made up for the lack luster greeting. I just hope that isn't a regular occurance at the front door.
Maddie was wonderful. She made the evening last Friday special. Thanks
The happy hour is always wonderful. There was a great observance of my Mom's birthday with a complimentary dessert. She loves it there.
I had the catfish it was awsome. My wife had th crab cake salad salad was awsome but the crab cake was bad extreamly fishiey smell and taste could not eat it. We also had the fried brie is was awsome .
I’ve dined at J. Liu’s before but at their Dublin location . The location was okay but the Dublin location is nicer as far as ambience. The brunch buffet was difficult to navigate, having to open up each food station to serve yourself and the action of opening/closing the pans caused everyone to have to reach over the vat of food. Some of the pans were difficult to open/close. The food was okay, nothing exceptional. The bathroom was awful. Out of two available stalls, neither one had a toilet seat that fit the toilet correctly and the bathroom, in general, was old & mildewing. I expected a better experience based on previous visits to their other location.
Hostess was a little worn out attitude wise, but I perked her up with my newcomer enthusiasm. Server (Jacob) was very attentive but not over attentive to water filling after we signaled we were low maintenance. Great job adjusting to our gluten intolerance and dairy free requirements! Salmon was tasty although not the best. Would go again.
Food was okay but what really stood out was how bad the service was. The restaurant was not very busy. We had theater tickets so staff knew. Not sure if I would go back.
Underwhelmed. My braised short rib seemed more like a hunk of chuck roast; I’ve never seen short ribs in the form of a chunk of meat! My friend got risotto w/scallops which were way undercooked. The bread pudding was tasty but dry. Would never go back
Service and food were amazing.
Would recommend over and over again.
