J. Liu Restaurant & Bar of Dublin Ratings and Reviews
I've enjoyed both lunch and Easter brunch at J. Liu's. Food and service have always been excellent. It was a cold day when we had lunch. I had the spicy Chicken because I wanted to warm up inside. It was very good, but only mildly spicy. Lunch partner had the crab cake sandwich. I was impressed by the size of the crab cake. It more than filled the bun. She said it tasted great.
HORRIBLE. This was a Thanksgiving buffet that we paid $100 for three people. The carving station was a dried up ham. No prime rib, nothing else. The other food on the cold salad/heating station consisted of the cheapest food ever: rolls, strawberry salad, cheap frozen tasting egg rolls, fishy smelling peal and eat shrimp, rice and veggies, more rice, typical green bean casserole, asian green beans, (why-- oh it's cheap) mashed potatoes, corn casserole, chewy turkey, overcooked asian chicken. The dessert area was not restocked. My husband wanted one chocolate dessert and it was empty, not restocked and the restaurant was not full at 2:45 pm. We were out of there in 30 minutes. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND HOPE NO ONE ELSE GETS RIPPED OFF BY GOING THERE FOR A HOLIDAY MEAL.
What a lovely brunch buffet!
The French toast is to die for. Possibly the best I've ever had. One half of the buffet had many breakfast items like eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, fruit, yogurt plus you could order a custom omelette. The other half had breaded tilapia, stir fry, lo mein, prime rib, salad and more. There was a third section of desserts. This is a robust buffet for the price! Plus a Bloody Mary bar! Service was terrific and if it's nice weather, sit out on the terrace.
Drove an hour here for our monthly date night. Great location, great food, great staff, and great value. Would rather have a $100 bill for quality than a $70 one at a chain steak house like, Outback or some other joint. Will visit again when in the neighborhood.
The service was excellent. The recommendations for the food were spot on. I had five friends with me that weren't from Ohio. I wanted to take them to a "local" place and they just kept raving about the experience....thank you for making me look like a good hostess!
I had the Fish & Chips special for lunch, and the felt like the fish came out of a box of frozen patties...the crusting was rock hard...Wished that I had ordered something off of the menu...My guest had the Chicken Diablo (guessing), and that was excellent...
Overall, the service was good along with the ambience...
A group of nine of us went for homecoming and our waiter was phenomenal. He cracked jokes with us and made sure we all had a good time. The food was delicious and I hate to say that we were the only obnoxious ones there. I loved the potstickers and the chicken pesto!
We asked for a booth and were given one, the worst one in the restaurant. The better ones sat empty the whole time we were there. Our view was of highchair storage and exit sign. Wine by the glass choices were meager, food decent but now that there more options in the area J Liu needs to step it up.
Went on a Friday night for an anniversary. It was very crowded. Took awhile for our food. Manager and server apologized for the delay, we understood because it seemed everyone ordered at the same time. Food was excellent and so was the dessert that the manager presented us.
Definitely will return.
My husband and I tried J Liu for the first time for dinner on Saturday. We sat on the patio since the weather was so great. The patio area is nice but think they could update their furniture and atmosphere. We had a nice bottle of wine at a good price. The calamari and bread with oil were both very good. Our meals were also good (burger and ahi tuna) but not too memorable. Our server was nice & attentive. I would go back but wouldn't be in my top choices around Cbus.
Food was okay for the price, but not outstanding. Bread with the oil was not fresh. Our waiter told us the special for the night was lobster Mac and cheese with a lobster tail, he failed to tell us the lobster tail was stuffed with crab meat instead of lobster meat. Salads were on the pricey side as well for the size. We try to support Dublin restaurants, but there are better options for the money. Probably better just to meet for drinks.
