J. Liu Restaurant & Bar of Dublin
Book your next event with us
Love J Lui and as it was my birthday lunch we chose to go celebrate. Our server was curt to the point of rude and when my sister tried to tell him of her severe allergy he wasnt interested and talked over her. He picked up and put down drinks without a word and when we asked for bread he said they only serve it at dinner, no apology just fact. (Many times we have been and they have warmed some up for us). Never asked us if we wanted dessert or the fact that it was a birthday (on reservation and obvious by presents and cards)
Overall very disappointed in our experience, it was made worse by all other servers who were cheerful and pleasant around us. Would request never to have him again
We sat in the bar which is our favorite place. David always treats us like old friends so we always enjoy being there!
I wouldn’t call the noise level in the dining room energetic. Its so loud. It’s just hard to hear the table of 4 conversation so I can’t imagine a larger group’s challenges. Food was awesome!
J Liu's in Dublin NEVER disappoints!!!! The selection of the brunch buffet, personnel (MAJOR SHOUTOUT TO LAURA!!!!!) This is the ONLY place the Mimosa Ladies will EVER go to for brunch!!! Or happy hour for that matter!!!! Quality, ambiance, price, EVERYTHING! I LOVE J LIU'S (in Dublin)!!!!!!
There was a table next to us that was very loud. It was freezing. Our server was way above excellent!!!!!
Great food, good happy hour
The food here is always great and the ambiance was perfect. I was a little concerned about the noise volume as this was a working lunch but this place ended up being great. I will definitely return!
The buffet isn’t large but the selection was very good, including French toast, eggs Benedict, shrimp and grits, and some savory Asian choices. My husband’s made-to-order omelet arrived very quickly and the service was great. I would definitely go again!
Great food and service staff!
Very disappointed about the changes in the desert menu.
Our server was the best! I entertained out of town guests and they were so impressed with everything about the place.
Sunday brunch is very nice. Even though not too many options but they are all very tasty and clean.
Everything was excellent except for tables being too close together so restaurant employees kept hitting my friend’s chair throughout the entire meal! It really isn’t their fault, but it was quite annoying for my friend.
Delicious food and amazing service, can’t wait until we can eat here again!
Loved the food ...... it is entirely too noisy to enjoy the people you are with in the dining area. Might be a good idea to put glass or wood doors to block off the bar or even put carpet at least in the dining area to absord the noise. Took away from the overall enjoyment.
We were waited on right away and the service was good but there weren’t a lot of people in there at 215 on a Sunday afternoon either. But we went there to consider them for a small dinner after our wedding for some family and friends but what we ordered was not seasoned at all. I had the catfish and grits and greens and the catfish had no seasoning and the grits were kinda cold. My fiancée had the special that had red snapper and shrimp and his food had no seasoning at all. We took his granddaughter with us and her chicken fingers were over cooked and the onion rings weren’t fried long enough and the breading wasn’t good either. I probably would not go back I know my fiancée was not impressed at all and felt like it was a waste of time and money.
We have eaten here many times and always had good meals. Last night was the exception not the rule in our experience. The calamari was excellent. Highly recommend that our meals were just OK and the waiter only stop by immediately after our meals were delivered but not after we had had time to dig in so that we could tell him but they were not up to par. When he asked if we wanted boxes and we said no even though we had fairly full plates left he realized that we were unhappy with our meals and brought the manager over. I will say that the manager handled the situation very well and to our satisfaction, however we will not be in a hurry to go back. We both realized we should have stuck with what we normally get there instead of trying different dishes. I typically get the Mongolian beef which is always delicious and my husband usually gets the Diavolo.
Made our reservation for 5 over Opentable for a family celebration. Ended up packed into a small corner table immediately adjoining doors to Kitchen, so lots of background noise and motion. Server did try to move us but was unable to do so due to full reservations. Problem with one entrée was noted well into the meal, but server and manager did very well in addressing the problem and offering dessert and help on the check, kudos for that response. Next time I won't use Open Table for a special evening -- or I will also call restaurant directly to not end up in lousy location and table within the restaurant.
Great tasting food and Great place to meet.
Waitress was friendly and took care of our needs quickly.
I would recommend J. Liu for lunch or dinner gatherings.
This was our first visit to J. Lui and we loved it. Great menu, great atmosphere, great service! I've been searching for another great calamari appetizer, and here it is! with red pepper, jalepeno and sweet chili sauce...perfectly cooked and scrumptious. The cartelized salmon with a pearl ginger sauce and forbidden black rice...very delicious...chicken Milanese was a huge serving...enough to take home...also very delicious. Thank you!
Delicious steak and salmon, good bar service, friendly wait staff, attentive manager.
Drive 60 miles about once a month to dine, and very nice place for dining
Our son’s engagement
Excellent service and just had to take a picture of the Lobster Bisque! Fun place and food is always great.
A birthday celebration for my daughter. She was very pleased, as we all were with the experience. Only down side was that early servings of eggs benedict more like hard boiled and a little soggy. Later portions were perfect.
J. Liu is trying to be too many things to too many people. The menu seemed to be this strange collection of dishes with no particular theme or direction or way of categorizing them. Working around my allergies was a challenge. The interior seemed circa 1980 trying to be hip. Nonetheless, the place was packed with people who seemed to be enjoying themselves, so my criticisms may well pertain just to me and my particular tastes and food issues.
Great service, something on the menu for everyone !
I had heard good things about the Sunday brunch at J Liu. While it was fine, it wasn't as great as I'd expected. The roast beef was tasty but chewy. I'm not a French Toast fan, and there were no pancakes or waffles. I was hoping for a waffle bar of some sort. The bacon was very good, and there was nice fruit. I was hoping for more "dessert" options. Petit-fours are old school. Oh, for a scoop of good ice cream. So it was OK, but I'll look around for another brunch option.
We had 6 adults and 3 kids for a family birthday dinner and had excellent service and meals! Everyone was impressed. Will definitely return!
J. Liu is a gem. The menu is quite varied, and the dishes our group of four ordered, across the different types of cuisine, were all delicious. The service was excellent, as were the cocktails, and the restaurant was quiet enough for us to have a conversation.
Nice dining experience for lunch with reasonable pricing. However - the men's restroom was in terrible shape (flooded, toilets clogged, no paper towels).
Always the BEST choice in Columbus for Sunday Brunch! I LOVE J Liu's! Laura and Andre are the BEST, they are long-time friends. The food is THE BEST, so many delicious choices! I had brunch at another restaurant and you were only able to order one option. They did not have a buffet. And the selections were WAY overpriced and the quality was sub-par! So we came home to J Liu's. Mimosas excellent, salads, prime rib, beef & broccoli, French toast, desserts? EXCELLENT! Excellent quality, the VALUE for the quantity of food is, as Guy Fieri would say, OFF THE CHARTS! Extreme Value in Flavortown!
Dinner was not great. Under cooked risotto, lobster bisque was just a broth. Server was overwhelmed with the amount of tables he had to serve.
Too many other great restaurants in Dublin so don’t waste your time here.
We've been coming to J. Liu's for years and it never disappoints. The food is delicious, the servers and service is warm and professional and the ambiance and decor is unique. I would highly recommend!
I was served mashed potatoes with plastic saran wrap in them! I could’ve easily choked on it or swallowed it completely. Totally unacceptable for a restaurant of this quality. This was my first time dining here and it will certainly be the last as well. Spend your special occasion elsewhere.
The restaurant was decorated very nicely for valentines day. The waitress was wonderful! We split all of our dishes, the filet was so tender and the green beans were fabulous. We had calamari and the creme brûlée. We loved our night out. Definitely be back
Food was just descent for the price. Great service, however.
Great food and service. You get your money’s worth!
