We really enjoy the J House as much in the summer on the outdoor patio as inside at one of the cozy booths. Food is varied and very good. Had the salmon sushi and guest had the prosciutto pizza and enjoyed each very much. But we came for the eggplant parmesan and it was not on the menu. Bring it back, please!
J House is a great place to meet colleagues for business meetings; meet friends for lunch or dinner or to schedule a quick coffee break in a beautifully appointed small boutique hotel that provides great service and a location that is easy for people to meet whether coming down from Stamford, or north from Westchester...or for people like me who live and work in Greenwich! As a marketing executive and event planner, I've worked closely with the hotel to plan a few successful corporate events and happy hour's. The J House is a great local venue that is located in an easy-to-get-to location on Route 1 and a perfect spot for a corporate meeting; a small family celebration like a birthday, wedding or Bar Mitzvah and the hotel features a restaurant that allows for quiet and productive business meetings-- as well as fun lunches or dinners with family and friends. I highly recommend the J House!
Good sushi. Great happy hour specials. Nice ambiance.
The H House is great because of two main reasons: the food is very good and the atmosphere is lovely. If you want to sit and not be bothered and have a nice dinner with a friend it is excellent. if you want a bit of a bar scene they have that two as well as a small Jazz band on some evenings. Will continue to go back there.
Went here for Valentines Day dinner. Absolutely fantastic. Great food and great service at a great value. Very elegant yet modern twist at the J House hotel!
We always have such a great experience at your restaurant whether it is for a quick drink or bite with a bunch of friends, a date night or an early dinner out with our kids!
Your servers are extremely helpful and courteous.
I recommend you all the time for different events, like MNO, tennis group get together, friends birthdays, MY birthday.
Keep up the good work, (and delicious food!!)
I have been to three business dinners at the J House. Every time, the food is great and the service superb. And you can actually talk there without screaming!
It is beautiful, trendy and the food was delicious. We felt like we were out of town (we live 3 miles away!) and discovered a true gem. Also, during nice weather they have a gorgeous outdoor dining/drinking patio area that is as lovely as I have ever seen. Great jazz combo on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights - great sound and not overwhelmingly loud.
I visited the JHouse as their brunch came highly recommended. I ordered the Brioche French Toast and at $22 had high expectations. To my disappointment the dish consisted of three thinly sliced pieces of bread with apple/pear compote and five pieces of strawberries - it tasted good, but definitely not worth $22. I've had better french toast at a diner for a lot less money. On the bright side, my boyfriend enjoyed his burger, but his bloody mary left much to be desired.
This an excellent restaurant with great food, service and ambiance.
Very nice night at the jhouse.
Kathy and judy went after the basketball game of will's
The chicken crispy was excellent
all was good
For the most part the food was great. Both steaks were over cooked though, one needed to be sent back. Service was terrible, never had a waiter actually greet us, drinks sat empty, things took forever, wait staff never checked in on us.
The food was good enough that I would hope it was just an off night, give them another shot.
Great for brunch but service was a bit slow due to holiday groups. Overall very nice.
Menu had interesting dishes, food was excellent but the waitstaff was another story. Numerous things had to be requested numerous times, many staff stopped at our table to ask if we needed anything and then nothing came, another staff stopped and asked again and we requested the same thing. Eventually 2 bottles of sparkling water arrived after a long wait etc etc. Lost in space.
They made the occasion extra special. My steak was great. The atmosphere was very nice.
My wife and I met 2 friends there and this was our first time there.
Loved the ambiance! There were a couple of birthday parties going on so it made for a lively crowd but it didn't interfere with our dining experience.
Food and service were very good.
I would go back for sure!
Slowest service ever. Wait staff disappears for long periods of time. For brunch no one coming around with more coffee? Food was great but we were at brunch nearly 90 minutes which was way too long for 2 people.
We didn't know what to expect and it was so much more than we could have asked for. A perfect place to spend our 15th anniversary.
Oddly enough, though, our waiter mentioned he'd send us a treat/make it more special and nothing happened.
Our service was abysmal. I think it was the waitress's first night and no one bothered to train her and she had never been to a restaurant herself. It is too bad because other people at the restaurant were professionals- bartender, hostess, waiter we know there.
The food was excellent, extremely tasty and lots of choices. The ambiance of the restaurant was great as well. The music got a bit loud but it was still enjoyable. Service was good but the waiter could have been a bit more attentive. I would certainly recommend this to others.
Great bartender! Delightful outdoor dining.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and service. Looking forward to returning.
We had a really lovely meal, in celebration of my birthday. The patio was amazing, and the food was wonderful. My only issue was the lack of knowledge with the menu. The server was not knowledgeable about the drinks, nor the food items - I should not have to be googling different items. This I blame on management for the lack of training/tasting - Our server was lovely and eager to learn the menu , only if she had been trained properly. I look forward to our next visit. Hoping things improve.
We will definitely go back. Lovely ambience.
My new go to restaurant. Excellent food, reasonable prices. Love it!!
The J House for dinner is like going to South Beach. Beautiful outdoor seating. Food is good but the service is uneven. Lots of staff working but it seems like no one is in charge and simple things (salt and pepper for the table, a drink not well prepared, etc) continually fall through the cracks. Having said that , as an alternative in the Greenwich, CT area, I would recommend the restaurant.
We had a great time at J House, our waiter was very nice but on the slower side of getting back to us.
Everything about the J House was pretty good except the live music. They were far too loud and the playlist was awful. I felt like I was stuck in a Doctor's office.
If you don't mind parking far away and waking through Greenwich for mediocre food, J house is for you !
From the moment you drive up to the valet-less property and try to navigate the maze of often unavailable parking areas, you know you could have made a better choice.
Once you trek to the property and hope your street parking is in fact legal, you're greeted by an "am I in the right place?" entrance. Eventually, you end up in the dining area or bar.
From there, the drinks were just ok, the food an insult to the intention for a nice meal, and the overall blasé attitude is tres Greenwich.
So please try to enjoy! Because the attitude here is one of "we couldn't care less if you like it.
They gave us a very nice table by a fireplace. However it was too hot to keep it on. The service was terrible. Our waitress repeatedly told us she would be at our table but wouldn't come back. It took 15 minutes just to order a drink and the restaurant was empty at that time. She only cleared half of our dinner dishes and left us sitting there for over 25 minutes waiting with a dirty table. Our daughters birthday dessert was waiting at her station the entire time and by the time she served it we all just wanted to get home. There were plenty of servers, the place wasn't full so no excuse. Pizzas were good. Agnolotti was good but only received about 5.
The food was great and so was the service and atmosphere. But the music was too loud. Couldn't talk with my family. The music was nice but they should lower down or move them to a different spot
Had to wait for table even tho we had reservation.
Choices for GF dairy free were slim but egg white omelet was pretty good. Decor is gorgeous, super trendy, hip. Ambiance is cheerful. Service is friendly. Juices were delicious.
I am enjoying this restaurant more and more and keep recommending it to all my friends. Food is excellent and the wait staff friendly and competent. I will be back often.
Cool place with good food. Great hostess.
Very good location with easy parking. Nice décor with indoor / outdoor options. Food was good albeit a bit salty. It's a good spot that I will return to.
A chance find of a lovely restaurant situated in a Greenwich hotel. Lots of comfortable seating and plenty of food options to satisfy any palate.
The half of lobster was the size of a large shrimp
It was fantastic hadn't been for years
I live in rye brook
Didn't love it in past
You guys are trying very hard
The food was excellent and we liked the feeling of the outdoor covered space. We enjoyed a cheese plate appetizer (great value), fresh shrimp and swordfish. All delicious. And the cosmo was delicious.
