J Graham's Cafe
It was such a great experience! The staff was so nice and their recommendations were wonderful... That hot brown was so good! I'll have dreams about it! Haha
Always a pleasurable experience! It’s my go to when I have out of town guests visiting.
Went for the Hot Brown and it did not disappoint! Love the old feel to the room. Everowas great!
So good! Finally made it in to get a famous Hot Brown! It was perfect in every way!
Amy , our waitress was wonderful & food was awesome! Very elegant dining On vacation!
Excellent food, great service, nice dining room but outrageous price. All the food was properly prepared and tasty with a wide variety of offerings. Servers were very friendly and prompt. Room was inviting and clean but perhaps a bit stuffy for some. We enjoyed ourselves but $56 a piece for a buffet, really?
Mother’s Day brunch
Mother's Day buffet was very nice. Awesome wait staff made us feel at home and comfortable. Food was delicious great variety. My favorite was the bread pudding with caramel sauce.
Our service was exceptional! We were checked on often but not intrusively. The Mother’s Day Brunch was delicious and the Mimosa and Bloody Marys excellent! My Mom cannot stop talking about it!
The food at the Sunday Brunch was amazing! Delicious, and a great variety. Loved the omelet and beef stroganoff stations. And the desserts were beautiful and SO good. The service was impeccable - we didn’t want for anything. We will definitely be back!
My daughter and I went for the Mother's Day brunch which had a wide variety of options to choose from and was delicious. The service was excellent. May need to make it a Mother's Day tradition even though we live near Chicago, IL.
The food and service for Mother's Day brunch was excellent! Don't have anything to complain about. Highly recommend.
We usually do the Mother's Day buffet at J. Graham's. Some changes this year: no hot Browns, long-standing wait staff are gone (and missed). Food was acceptable, salads and cold seafood very good, desserts tempting.
This is a fantastic place. I would highly recommend it. Everyone was so nice and wanted to make our day so special. They went over and above our expectations. I would definitely plan another special event here.
J Graham's staff is passionate about their high-quality food and does an excellent job in guiding you through the menu and recommending great drinks. I felt a bit pampered at J Graham's. Being in the historic Brown Hotel made it even better. The Cafe Manager was especially great in helping provide us with information about the historical significance of the hotel and the Hot Brown special entree (which is incredibly delicious by the way). I will come back here every time I visit Louisville.
We came from Los Angeles to have THE Hot Brown sandwich. It was a culinary delight. However, the resturant, service, everything was a very good experience. Amazing food.
Thank you for a lovely experience.
We had 2 reservations of 10 people, and they were able to put our tables right next to each other, a big feat when its the day after the Derby. Thank you for that.
I have been to J Graham's several times and have always been impressed. I had guests in for the Kentucky Derby, therefore seating was different and in the hotel lobby. It was cold and noisier, but still terrific!
Enjoyed the Hot Brown. Service was very attentive. We enjoyed our evening.
The night time derby menu consisted of about 5 main items and included a buffet service for soup, salad, bread, and dessert. I ordered the chicken Oscar, and it was just OK, nothing special. The hot brown and short ribs looked like they may have been the better option. Overall is was good, but nothing exciting.
Amazing weekend brunch. Service is outstanding and friendly. Highly recommend it.
Again J Graham's did not disappoint. Perfect service and delicious hot browns.
The atmosphere was nice and the people were very nice. Service was a little bit slow. The food was average, but not bad. I would go back, but only after looking at other restaurants.
We arrived early for our reservation during Derby Week, not sure if they would be able to seat us. They chatted a moment, checked the dining room and within minutes we were seated. The wait staff was very attentive, right there to ask what we wanted to drink, recommendations from the menu were given and we ordered. Our drinks were never empty d the staff would stop to chat about the Derby and Louisville things to see. Our food arrived and once again we were not disappointed. The Hot Brown was absolutely delicious, but could be shared. We would return to this restaurant if the opportunity arises.
The food was plain and uninspired. The service was confusing as we had five different waiters over the span of our meal, plus several servers. The decor was neither quaint nor modern, just dated. Overall, it was nothing to write home about.
The food and service were excellent on a busy Sunday afternoon.
The manger, Sue, was delightful! She made us feel awful special. Our food was scrumptious and we had a very nice waitress as well. The bread pudding from the Brunch buffet was terrific. The sauce was delicious!
As usual, lunch at J Graham’s was a delight. The service was attentive without being intrusive. Food selection was varied. The Brown is a Louisville institution. J Graham’s fits in nicely.
I was visiting in Louisvillle for an extended weekend and made the trip to the J Graham Cafe in the Brown Hotel on my last day specifically to order Louisville's special dish: The Hot Brown. This was possibly the best lunch I've ever had (and I am 62!). The restaurant was lovely, my waiter was friendly and attentive, the other wait staff kept my water glass filled, and the food and drinks were just extrordinarily delicious. It was a delightful finale' for my trip. I loved Louisville and I loved the J Graham Cafe; be sure to visit if you are in the area!
We enjoyed the service and friendliness. Our meal was restful and well-attended. This was a memorable experience. Thank you.
We had a wonderful meal, the food was amazing and the service was amazing!!!
Through research for this trip, I kept coming across this restaurant as THE place to try a Hot Brown, Louisville's signature dish. Not only were we not disappointed, we were completely impressed! We went at 11:00 AM on Good Friday and it was quiet. We were seated right away. The staff was very friendly and complimentary. We thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. My boyfriend order the Hot Brown and I ordered a Turkey Club with the soup of the day (seafood bisque). It was amazing!
We had a fantastic lunch and our server was excellent!
We got there Sunday before brunch started so had to order off the menu. Service was very slow and not attentive. Very limited selection of food. I ordered the American breakfast and the country ham was like shoe leather. Had to ask twice for the juice. The atmosphere was nice and maybe the buffet was better than the menu items. Was not impressed though.
Fantastic service from Brian and really enjoyed the history he shared of Louisville and the Brown Hotel. Hot Brown is an absolute must,,out of this world delicious. Paired it with a Mint Julep for the breakfast of champions! 😜. Toured around the hotel after for great photos.
We had the classic The Brown dish, which did not disappoint. Our server was awesome and every contact at the restaurant was all about our experience. Fantastic in all ways
It was a girls day out with the women in my family and our dining experience here truly was a gem! Our server, Ethan, was very attentive and well mannered. We had omelets, the BLT, and the Cobb salad. It was all so fresh and flavorful. We cannot wait to return!
The Hot Brown was very good but it had so much cheese on it I had to stop eating.
Always amazing food and service. The buffet and desserts did not disappoint. Always a stop we make when in Louisville.
Heard about the famous Hot Brown on Man vs Food series. Decided I had to try it out if I ever came out to Louisville, KY. On a recent trip to Nashville we included a trip to the Brown Hotel for lunch. The hotel is a beautiful piece of history. The restaurant is named J Graham’s is far above what I expected. My sister ordered a pasta dish, my niece ordered a BLT with sweet potato tots and I ordered the Hot Brown. All of the dishes were delicious but the Hot Brown was out of this world good. The best dish I have ever eaten at any restaurant. The service was excellent. It wasn’t just a lunch it was an experience. I highly recommend J Graham’s. The food and their staff will not disappoint.
A great place to entertain a group of guests from out of state. The food and ambience were wonderful and the staff was excellent at taking care of us with our time limitations.
