Lovely meal and service was excellent as always. Will be returning
We had a group of 10 that was easily accommodated in a separate room from the main dining room while still being close to the amazing brunch buffet! Those in our party that just wanted the hot browns were also easily accommodated.
The staff was amazing and extremely attentive! Always an amazing spot for special occasions!
The only thing I wish I had known before going was that the menu would not be available - only the buffet or the Hot Brown. However, everything was excellent and the Hot Brown was amazing!
J. Graham's, located in the Brown Hotel, offers wonderful mid-day ambience for dining.
We went for the Sunday brunch. The food choices are more limited than pre-COVID but no one will go away hungry. The salads are fresh and tasty, as are the made-on-the-spot omelets. The hot buffet tended toward over heating; the tenderloin with mashed potatoes tasted flat. This is unusual.
Service from the long time servers is excellent. Spot-on. The newer folks haven't learned yet. Pleasant but not present.
The staff, food, ambiance were all WONDERFUL 👍
You must try the Hot Brown! It was invented here, and we opted for it instead of the brunch buffet on a Saturday. So glad we did!
We arrived on New Year's Day for brunch. It was a buffet, but with very fancy options. The price was higher than we expected for a buffet, but the food was good and the atmosphere was beautiful.
It was nice, but nothing great in terms of food taste and ambiance. The hostess was very friendly. The turkey in the hot brown was really dried out, but we are glad we tried one.
First time visiting and was fantastic. Great service, the hot browns better than imagined, and wonderful ambience. Will definitely come back!
We enjoyed our family lunch immensely. Delicious food, amazing desserts, excellent service.
The restaurant in the Brown Hotel is steeped in nostalgic ambiance of the age of large city hotels.
We went to the Sunday buffet that has been resurrected after a pandemic forced hiatus.
Guests to the restaurant appear to largely be guests at the hotel. There are a number of locals dining, though, who consider the food, service and ambiance worth a trip downtown.
It buffet has a wonderful combination of breakfast, lunch, salads and dessert. The famous Hot Brown is available a la carte.
The cost is rather high. You get far more good food than you can eat. The value lies in the choices and quality of what to pick.
Notable is the excellent quality of the wait staff. The are experienced, knowledgeable and anticipate diners' needs. It would be hard to find an equally excellent service effort anywhere in the city.
Love going to the brown such a beautiful place at Christmas. Graham’s is the best have loved there buffet for years and the hot brown.
Coffee mugs were not heated, and decaf was barely warm.
Very Christmacy atmosphere
Nice selection of food
Somewhat pricey this year
Appreciate management doing nice job.
Appreciate Chef, although prefer roast little more done and tender.
Not as many meat and poultry and fish and cheese selections this year as others.
Prefer iceberg lettice
Nice desert selections.
Lets see what the new year brings.
Very high chance I would choose to return next year if they will have me.
Nothing spectacular with limited variety, even on a Christmas brunch. Definitely overpriced.
It was one of the best restaurants I have ever visited.
We did Sunday brunch here. The atmosphere and service were wonderful. The food was also very good. My only quibble would be that the buffet seemed a bit overpriced given the food selections available. I have had breakfast buffets for free at Embassy Suites that were arguably as good as what we had. It certainly did not live up to the "Best Brunch in Louisville" title.
My only issue was we both ordered Derby Pie.
The pie was on a plate with a pretty chocolate syrup design but the pie was served cold.
Great brunch, welcoming staff.
Will definitely come again when in Louisville.
Great service and friendly attentive staff and really good food.
Wonderful way to start the holiday. Food, staff and restaurant was above average. You gotta try the Hot Brown.
Lived in Kentucky for a year and haven’t tried a hot brown yet so we decided to go to the original place. It did not disappoint!
The Hot Brown was great -- all I hoped it would be. Sauce was a bit on the thick side; a little heavier than I would have liked, but all in all, a great experience.
Internet music was skipping but the service and attention was super
Beautiful place and very elegant!!! Our waitress was absolutely wonderful!!!
The place was very expensive for a brunch buffet and the coffee was crazy expensive too. The food was good and had lots of options. No menu just buffet and hot brown available. The waitress was super nice and friendly. The ambience was okay but not the greatest in decor and felt really close to the next table. Not worth it to go unless you’re splitting a hot brown and only drinking water.
Wonderful experience in the beautiful hotel. Food and service are top notch. Hot brown was all it is said to be.
Our server (Regina?) was excellent! Food was piping hot and perfectly prepared. Music was just a little loud but it was oldies (as are we) so it was enjoyable.
Had the Hot Brown Sandwich. Very good but you need a nap afterwards. The service was excellent. Very efficiently run.
We really enjoyed the lunch and our server was great. It was our fist time to visit Louisville as we just moved to Kentucky from Washington State 6 weeks ago. Since we were in town we wanted to visit the Brown Hotel, and we had to try the Hot Brown we have heard so much about. We are very glad we did! Thank you for the very memorial lunch!
I brought friends and my daughter to this renowned establishment to try the Hot Brown. Three of us opted for the brunch buffet and one of us opted for the hot brown. After 45 minutes, the hot brown still had not arrived despite the tables around us receiving their food who had arrived after us. The waitress did apologize and offered to remove it from the bill since three of us were long finished with our meals before the fourth arrived. The bill came and still had the overdue sandwich. Disappointing experience at a long withstanding iconic venue. Worth the visit but bring some patience and don’t come hungry.
My wife and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. We were enthusiastically greeted by the manager. Angie was our server. She was friendly, down to earth, pleasant and paid attention to detail. When we informed her about the reason for our visit she made sure that we had Derby pie to take home as dessert! What a touch of class. Also, because my wife and I have dined in the Cafe’ numerous times, Regina promptly took notice of us. She deserves to be recognized for her friendliness. Great place to dine.
Great service. Hostess was so welcoming. Food was terrific.
Had to stop by and try the original Hot Brown at the Brown Hotel while in Louisville. It and our cocktails were everything and more. Ben? (born in Australia now in Louisville) helped us decide what size Hot Brown to order. Hint, the small is huge! And speaking of more, Sue (born in DC now in Louisville) made my husband and I feel like we were old friends. She came to our table several times to check on us and tell us more about the gorgeous, historical hotel. We never would had known to go up to the Crystal Ballroom and to the rooftop area if Sue had not told us about them. She and all the staff made us feel welcome and at home at the Brown. Next time we're in Louisville, we'll be eating AND staying at the Brown.
Hot Brown was delicious and so were the fries! Great cocktails too!
Had the signature Hot Brown and it was everything I had hoped for. Delicious and a relatively large meal.
We went there primarily for the Hot Brown which is really good though, for me, is quite expensive for $26. The ice tea I would say is expensive for $4 which was not refilled. But overall, the ambience was great plus we were seated next to the window. My kids were provided with activity to work on while waiting for our orders to arrive.
The Hot Brown @ The Brown Hotel did not disappoint. We also had the BLT & fruit plate. The BLT was my fav, made with Burbon bacon!!! Our server, and the restaurant host were so welcoming, and helpful.
Excellent food and the best bacon around. We always eat at least one breakfast there during our stays at the Brown. It’s too bad their prices have gotten so high and the area has gotten so seedy. The menu has been pared as well. They had excellent French toast but it’s no longer on menu.
Stopped in for a late brunch. We had the hot brown. It was delicious! The portions are big! Our server, Tiffany was a absolute sweetheart. She gave us the recipe for the hot browns they make there and was just all around great. The ambiance was unique as well. Definitely a place you want to check out when in the area.
