J Graham's Cafe
Our server and one in training were so kind. The food was fabulous, and my son was surprised by the birthday Derby Pie!
Thank you Angela and Andrea for making us feel special and welcomed. You both were on top of our order, drinks and food delivery. Thank you!
The Hotel is lovely, and we had a good experience as we met long time friends we had not seen in years. We were shown a brunch menu, without a price and we didn’t question it as we had read on your website a price of $38.00. My husband and I chose the buffet and were somewhat taken aback at the $56 per head charge. While it was nice, it is far from the best I’ve seen. I felt it was overpriced.
We enjoyed our meal at J. Graham's Cafe today. Offerings went from beef at the carving station to BBQ oysters, ribs, lobster mac and cheese, sausage, bacon, biscuits with ham and bacon jam, omelettes made to order and doughnut French toast. Of course there was selection of chilled salads, smoked salmon and cheeses. There was a variety of desserts and pastries which we still had room for a few! Our server Kat took great care of us. This was our second time celebrating Fathers' Day with a brunch here and it did not disappoint!
Food and atmosphere are great. The Hot Brown is a must! Would highly recommend.
It was wonderful Anniversary! Went for lunch, had the incredible Hot Brown! Food was perfect and service was outstanding!
We traveled to Louisville to see Hamilton broadway show and to have Hot Brown at Brown Hotel. Both experiences were wonderful!
J Graham's Café at the Brown Hotel is a special place to eat. The ambiance of the room with jazz playing in the back ground is relaxing. From walking up to the hostess desk and being seated until your are finished with your meal and walking out, all the staff are very professional and make you feel special.
The food is some of the best you will ever eat. I have to admit that I always look over the menu and end up ordering the Hot Brown, it is so unique and so filling. There are a lot of imitations of this delisious dish out there but none compare to the original at the Brown. The Brown Bloody Mary is great too !
You can't go wrong at J Graham's Cafe !
Also this was my first time using the Open Table and it worked great.
The food and staff service were excellent. We love bringing our friends and family to the Brown Hotel when they come to visit.
Went for Sunday brunch Buffet and it was AMAZING! Best meal we had during our stay in Louisville. Staff was all friendly and helpful. It was an easy and relaxing brunch.
The Hot Brown did not disappoint. I would recommend backing off on the sauce and adding some additional tomatoes and a touch of garlic/garlic salt. However, even without modifications this is a delicious and iconic dish that’s well worth the $20 price tag. Enjoy!
Celebrated my husband's birthday here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Food was wonderful, so full of flavors, and ambience was wonderful. Service was impeccable. We then walked around hotel afterward, reminicing about how hotel was when we were children. Definitely plan on returning there for lunch and spending a night as well.
Some food over cooked. Overall was really good. Other party in area had small children so it was quite noisy and hard to converse since we were the only two parties in a small room.
The buffet was limited but the Brown Bloody Mary made up for it
We had a great experience and the food was great. Would recommend.
One of our favorite eating experiences. The ambiance is lovely. On a Saturday mid-morning, noise level was low. All staff is very friendly, accommodating and efficient. The Kentucky Hot Brown is their signature dish and well worth driving 3 hours from Ohio to experience!
It was such a great experience! The staff was so nice and their recommendations were wonderful... That hot brown was so good! I'll have dreams about it! Haha
Always a pleasurable experience! It’s my go to when I have out of town guests visiting.
Went for the Hot Brown and it did not disappoint! Love the old feel to the room. Everowas great!
So good! Finally made it in to get a famous Hot Brown! It was perfect in every way!
Amy , our waitress was wonderful & food was awesome! Very elegant dining On vacation!
Excellent food, great service, nice dining room but outrageous price. All the food was properly prepared and tasty with a wide variety of offerings. Servers were very friendly and prompt. Room was inviting and clean but perhaps a bit stuffy for some. We enjoyed ourselves but $56 a piece for a buffet, really?
Mother’s Day brunch
Our service was exceptional! We were checked on often but not intrusively. The Mother’s Day Brunch was delicious and the Mimosa and Bloody Marys excellent! My Mom cannot stop talking about it!
Mother's Day buffet was very nice. Awesome wait staff made us feel at home and comfortable. Food was delicious great variety. My favorite was the bread pudding with caramel sauce.
The food at the Sunday Brunch was amazing! Delicious, and a great variety. Loved the omelet and beef stroganoff stations. And the desserts were beautiful and SO good. The service was impeccable - we didn’t want for anything. We will definitely be back!
My daughter and I went for the Mother's Day brunch which had a wide variety of options to choose from and was delicious. The service was excellent. May need to make it a Mother's Day tradition even though we live near Chicago, IL.
The food and service for Mother's Day brunch was excellent! Don't have anything to complain about. Highly recommend.
We usually do the Mother's Day buffet at J. Graham's. Some changes this year: no hot Browns, long-standing wait staff are gone (and missed). Food was acceptable, salads and cold seafood very good, desserts tempting.
This is a fantastic place. I would highly recommend it. Everyone was so nice and wanted to make our day so special. They went over and above our expectations. I would definitely plan another special event here.
J Graham's staff is passionate about their high-quality food and does an excellent job in guiding you through the menu and recommending great drinks. I felt a bit pampered at J Graham's. Being in the historic Brown Hotel made it even better. The Cafe Manager was especially great in helping provide us with information about the historical significance of the hotel and the Hot Brown special entree (which is incredibly delicious by the way). I will come back here every time I visit Louisville.
We came from Los Angeles to have THE Hot Brown sandwich. It was a culinary delight. However, the resturant, service, everything was a very good experience. Amazing food.
Thank you for a lovely experience.
We had 2 reservations of 10 people, and they were able to put our tables right next to each other, a big feat when its the day after the Derby. Thank you for that.
I have been to J Graham's several times and have always been impressed. I had guests in for the Kentucky Derby, therefore seating was different and in the hotel lobby. It was cold and noisier, but still terrific!
Enjoyed the Hot Brown. Service was very attentive. We enjoyed our evening.
The night time derby menu consisted of about 5 main items and included a buffet service for soup, salad, bread, and dessert. I ordered the chicken Oscar, and it was just OK, nothing special. The hot brown and short ribs looked like they may have been the better option. Overall is was good, but nothing exciting.
Amazing weekend brunch. Service is outstanding and friendly. Highly recommend it.
Again J Graham's did not disappoint. Perfect service and delicious hot browns.
The atmosphere was nice and the people were very nice. Service was a little bit slow. The food was average, but not bad. I would go back, but only after looking at other restaurants.
Expected better food and impeccable service based on the historic nature of the Brown Hotel. Was left unimpressed and disappointed with our visit. Service was slow, not the friendliest, was charged incorrectly (and staff resisted when asked). Staff was not very accommodating about vegan and gluten free options until a few of our party was going to leave. For the amount we paid, I expected more.
We arrived early for our reservation during Derby Week, not sure if they would be able to seat us. They chatted a moment, checked the dining room and within minutes we were seated. The wait staff was very attentive, right there to ask what we wanted to drink, recommendations from the menu were given and we ordered. Our drinks were never empty d the staff would stop to chat about the Derby and Louisville things to see. Our food arrived and once again we were not disappointed. The Hot Brown was absolutely delicious, but could be shared. We would return to this restaurant if the opportunity arises.
The food was plain and uninspired. The service was confusing as we had five different waiters over the span of our meal, plus several servers. The decor was neither quaint nor modern, just dated. Overall, it was nothing to write home about.
