It was my birthday and my first time eating there. There was a delay of some sort with my reservation, not sure why but the food was amazing, will definitely go back

Overall, the evening was outstanding. I used Open Table for reservation and included that it was our anniversary. We arrived a little early but were seated immediately and told "Happy Anniversary" by the host and by our waitress. Our waitress, Caylin, was terrific. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, very personable and attentive without being intrusive. Our dinners were perfect. I had the 4 oz filet/scallops combo. I always order my filet medium rare and hope it comes out very pink but not bloody. This filet was cooked perfectly! Husband ordered the 14 oz. pork chop and it, too, was perfect. Between us we had sides of spinach, roasted carrots (very good), creamed corn and au gratin potatoes (wow). We shared the coconut cake/pineapple ice cream for dessert (compliments of the restaurant for our anniversary). It was a wow also. The restaurant offers wine by the glass in both 6 oz and 9 oz servings. This is great because sometimes just a glass is not enough but you don't want two or a bottle. We will definitely be back!

Amazing experience, as always. They are as consistent as they are delicious.

This will be one of our new favorites. Our waiter was so great and was very honest about the menu. Our drinks were made to perfection. And the food was superb! We usually don’t like too many places filet minion, but this is the place to get steaks! We will be back for sure!

The food was very good. The steaks were prepared to nearly perfect. Wine delicious and the server was knowledgeable. That being said, My only complaint was with the server. My girlfriend and I are young. Both over 21 but still young. The waiter at the beginning made a few little comments about how the wine may have been too pricey for us and suggested we get the less expensive lower quality wine. I adamently refused and after a quick word brought us the wine I wanted. After that he was amazing. But that at the beginning soured my mood a little bit since I felt like he was judging us based on age. Other than that it was a pleasant time. Quiet. Peaceful. Delicious food.

Very bad and bizarre service. Didn't get greeted at our table for 10 minutes. Server took my wine glass when he brought the carafe of wine so I had no glass. My husband grabbed me one off of another table and it was dirty. Dropped bread on the table and didn't offer a replacement. Didn't acknowledge my husbands birthday when we mentioned we were dining there for the occasion. I think the server was ill which is disgusting. He was shaking and sweating profusely - we tipped well because we felt bad for him working while sick. Would not reccomend and would not go back.

J. Gilbert’s has been our go-to for special occasions for quite a while now, but the last two times we’ve been there, the food quality we’ve been accustomed to was lacking a bit. It’s still very good, but it lacks that wow factor we used to leave with after out meal. The steaks have been a little too fatty, and a little too charred the last two times we’ve eaten there. The first time we thought it was a fluke, but when it happened this last time as well, it’s caused us to question. Also, we were seated in a room that is typically used for larger group reservations this time...and the acoustics allowed every conversation to travel, and we felt like we were sitting in the middle of an aisle where servers needed to pass through. Based on our previous visits, we’ve just come to expect better from J Gilbert’s in all respects.

We were passing through Columbus and stopped at this restaurant based on a trip advisor reviews. We were not disappointed! We had a great time. The food was absolutely amazing. Kudos to the chef.

We visited J Gilbert’s for Easter dinner. As past customers, we expected high-quality dining and top-notch service. There were few customers in the restaurant, yet we felt the server was in attentive and the steaks were disappointing.

We have been going to J.Gilbert's since it opened and have never been disappointed. Love the cozy bar, great cocktails and food. We enjoy seeing the same bartenders and wait staff . Some have been their 20 years.

His is our second Easter dinner at J Gilbert’s. It was a good location for us to meet with two of our children who attend college nearby. The food was outstanding and our waiter was great. He was very attentive and made some great recommendations. Our family enjoyed the Easter menu, including lamb, petit filets with scallops, crab cakes and wonderful desserts including fresh berry bowl
With zabaglione, chocolate cake and crime brûlée. The salads were cold, crisp and dressings were delicious..we will not hesitate to return when we are in Columbus!
