    The taste of the food really wasn't worth the cost. Steaks could've been better. The crab cake was so dry, not good at all. Steak wasn't juicy and I ordered it medium rare. I never got the drink I ordered. The wedge salad was very tasteless with watery lettuce. So expensive for what we got.

    We never have a bad meal here and the service is always impeccable! It's our "Go To" place when we want a nice evening out. Steaks were cooked perfectly!

    Overall, a very nice experience. A bit pricey, but when we got the steak, it was well worth it. Nice to have sides that are different that can’t be find elsewhere.

    We were greeted right away by the hostess and our server. However, after she took our drink order she disappeared for 10 minutes to come get our food order. She only had one other table, so this was a little long. We finally ordered and we received our food in a decent amount of time. We had to hunt down someone to get a steak knife as our food was getting cold. We were not given all our food, so we had to wait 5 more minutes to speak with the server. We got the additional food we ordered after 10 minutes or so we thought, the food that was brought was wrong. We were going to say something but again the server was nowhere to be found. We ordered dessert and after 15 minutes we finally got this. We have been there at least 10 times and I expected more!?

    The food is absolutely the BEST. Filet fabulous, augratin potatoes unequaled, and wedge salad beautiful and delicious. This dinner is my favorite all time dinner in the world and we eat out a lot. Service is always tops and heads up to our waiter Hannah!!! Our 4th time this summer for the same meal!

    Found the place by happenstance, but have to say it was one of THE best restaurant me also offered my life!! Had the $64 fixed-income price menu; filet was perfectly medium rare, scallops were spot on in cook and taste, and the carrot cake nearly stole the show! I only wish I lived in the Columbus area now!!!!

    My scallops were amazing but my husbands prix fixe meal had the wrong steak… which wasn’t a big deal until he realized it was cooked to medium well… steak he ordered was medium rare. But… servers in the bar made it right & gave us a bill credit. Mistakes happen… this isn’t typical for J. Gilbert’s. Won’t stop us from coming back. And… cocktails were delicious!

    We had both steak and seafood and everything was delicious and cooked as requested. The waiter was pleasant and responsive. The high backed booths keep the noise to a level that conversation is easy.

    We miss the bar menu including sliders and the samplers, as well as the grilled veggie plate, the heirloom carrots, the chicken tortilla soup and the catch of the day. The pastrami butter is not as good as it once was. But most of why we had was as good as always.

    Everything was perfect. Reservation requests were seamlessly accommodated. We rely on J. Gilbert’s every September to celebrate our birthdays and every year they exceed on terrific and customized service, ambiance (eclectic choice of music tonight;) and of course the amazing food that is consistent and well curated.     This is our go to restaurant on all occasions. Food is always incredible, staff and managers always insure an unforgettable and excellent dining experience. We had the seafood shellfish tower and shared a 16 oz Blackened pan seared Kanas City Strip that always exceeds our expectations. Thanks again for a memorable night out.

    Our dinner was excellent. Another member of our party received her steak severely undercooked, but they took it back and made it perfect and they also delivered an extra side dish to be taken home when the steak was returned back to the table. We will definitely be back.

    J.Gilbert’s is becoming my favorite place for family celebrations. I love that the restaurant isn’t loud and we can actually talk and hear each other‘s conversations. There are different seating areas which break up the space so each area feels intimate. They have the OSU game on in the bar. That way we can keep updated on the score. I had the twin Canadian lobster tails which were delicious! The servers are friendly and attentive. I plan on trying them for Happy Hour during the week.

    We visited for our 33rd anniversary. At first we were seated right by the host desk but we requested to be relocated somewhere more intimate and the host was very accommodating. The signature cocktails were great. The chilled seafood platter was underwhelming, but our filets were the best we have had in a very long time from any high end steak house. Our anniversary card and dessert from J. Gilbert’s was a wonderful surprise to end our evening!

    I was having a hard time deciding where to go for my birthday dinner. I received an email from J Gilberts and decided to give it a try. We had carried out before but never dined in. They were so nice! They wrote me a Happy Birthday card - I’ve NEVER had a restaurant prepare a hand written card! Hannah was an EXCELLENT server. She gave us lots of options, answered our questions, and seemed like she h genuinely was excited to have us. And everything was delicious! We were very happy with our evening! 😊

    I have had an amazing meal at J. Gilbert’s and decided to take my family here to celebrate a milestone birthday. Unfortunately, the food was not as good this time and the filet that I had tasted more like venison. Will try it again someday as overall it is great and this was just an unusual experience.
