   I have been to J Gilbert’s many times and it is my favorite place to bring guests. But tonight something was off. The salad Caesar was not as tasty and my mixed seafood grill was not served hot. This is the first time I was disappointed. The seafood grill was dry and not the best

   The wood fire on the steak definitely comes through in the steak, which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. Jake, our server, was excellent. Really special meal for my wife's birthday. She is super picky when it comes to steak and a value for a great meal. We had both on this visit.

   The food was exceptional! I only gave a 3 in value because if I were cooking at home it would have been a lot less expensive. This is the only restaurant I gave ate at in Columbus where I didn't mind paying the current prices for a meal. Everything was cooked perfectly!

   We live out of town and a local business suggested this spot when I asked for something special and not a chain. It was a late evening dinner by the time we arrived, so I booked the bar area. Our server was professional, explained everything we needed to know and super attentive. It was my husband’s birthday and they had a birthday card waiting and offering a free desert (amazing carrot cake with a Birthday candle) We both got different steaks. Done medium rare to perfection . We opted for the unique sides. We can get a baked potato anywhere. The creamed corn and bacon were incredible. The au gratin poblanos, yummy. 10/10!! We will definitely be back when we are in the area. Kudos to you all.

    Enjoyed salad, seafood, sides and desserts - all highest quality ingredients, preparation and presentation. They made our anniversary special with a festive place setting and free dessert.
