I have visited J. Gilbert's before and had a very pleasant experience. This visit was less than optimal, specifically the service. A waiter or waitress should appear at the table in less than 2-3 minutes at a minimum to welcome guests . . . in our case, no one came to our table after being seated and I had to return to the host stand to request service. I had recommended the restaurant to our group of 5, so it made for an awkward start. Thank you for receiving this feedback.

It was my birthday and everything was nice. For some odd reason they kept placing the empty glasses and bottles on the head board of my booth...which I removed the first time. Puzzled me considering the booth behind my date and I was empty due to social distancing

J Gilberts was great the food was excellent quality and we were taken care of very well for our meal, the staff were very nice we would definitely go back!

I would appreciate more honesty when they say the table is really isolated and socially distanced and called twice about it and then got a table in the middle of the busy aisle next to the kitchen. I almost walked out but they moved me because the place was pretty empty. Thanks for that

We had the Blue Cheese chips for an appetizer and they were burnt. I had the Cajun Spiced Pan Roasted Filet. It was ordered Medium/Rare and came out Medium to Medium/Well. The dish comes with Poblano Au Gratin. The potatoes were crunchy. The Sazerac was too sweet. I will revisit another time to see if this was an off night.

My wife found the Grouper dinner very stringy and over done with a heavy lackluster sauce.

This was our first visit as we are new to the area. We were very impressed! The filet melted in our mouth and was cooked to perfection. The creamed corn with bacon was delicious. The service was outstanding. We look forward to our next visit.

J Gilbert’s has been a favorite for nearly 20 years. The food, wait staff, cleanliness, and ambiance continue to be outstanding in the age of COVID. The staff is very attentive and focused on providing a great dining experience.

It's seem like the waiter did not want to be there

I ordered a frittata, which was supposed to come with artichoke heats, but with no notice, they were replaced with mushrooms. I did not care for the mushrooms. I also ordered a side of smashed potatoes with onions & peppers, which was replaced with plain mashed potatoes. The drinks were so-si

Always delicious food, served quickly, priced right, and nice atmosphere. Kiara provides outstanding service without writing down orders for 4 guests!

We had a lovely dinner out celebrating one of our last nights with a friend before she headed back to college. The lobster entrees were fabulous as well as the steaks and fries! We took our desserts Togo and enjoyed them at home. Our server Kira was tops!!!

The food was not quite as good, and more expensive, than several of the Great American restaurants in our area.

The food was spectacular. The service was horrid. We waited 20 minutes for our server to tell us she’d be with us in a few.

Drink orders never came out for the party. The server seemed lost. She never collected empty glasses or cleared finished plates, our table was just a pile of dishes in the corner.

The manager Michael came by to pick up the server’s slack, but even he dropped the ball. He would take drink orders from our table and the drinks would never come.

I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone for dinner. Maybe a quick super casual lunch. Definitely NOT for a special occasion to impress.

A half pound of crab legs = 1 leg, not a cluster, a little disappointing

KC Strip was perfection-plenty of delicious meat! Strip and burnout shrimp combo was also a hit. Best onion rings appetizer we’ve ever had. Hands down! Great experience from start to finish. Very good with the Covid regulations.

Great food and service on a busy New Years Eve. We expected them to be busy, and they were, reservations solved that problem. A great Eve and date night all in one.

The food was amazing and the service was amazing. Henry was our server and he was awesome. We would definitely return!

I ordered medium cooked Cowboy Cut rib eye steak. It came between med rare to rare. I asked our waiter to have it cooked a little bit more. He took it to kitchen. But when he brought back it was still not medium. I think heading there with a high expectation of perfect wood fired grilled steak was part of the disappointment. I think if I have to make price vs. quality of food comparison, the quality definitely did not match the price.

My experience at the Mclean, VA location was great. The service from the front desk to the service at the table was awesome. I look forward to booking another reservation in the near future, and try different dish. The entre I got based on our server recommendations was also great.

The staff is not strictly following Covid rules and allowing people to congregate around booths with no masks on. Also letting costumers get up and use the restrooms without masks on. Large parties attending and doesn’t feel safe at all. Disappointing because I love this place.

Service was great. Food not as good as we have had here in the past. Looked as though it spent quite of time under the warmer. 2nd espresso martini in not the right glass..said they were out?!

Given that it was Christmas Eve, I expected the best. Dinner was OK. The Ladies Restroom was a DISGRACE. Overall, I was disappointed. Expected more.

Great local restaurant staffed with excellent and personable people. Delicious food. Nice ambiance. Good prices.

Normally the food is excellent but this recent visit the waitress neglected us for a while, the roasted potatoes were not as good as normally are, and the steak was medium well instead of Medium as requested. The service is declining and should be addressed in these difficult times where everyone is struggling especially your loyal customers.

Had a great experience and would definitely return.

The four of us enjoyed our Christmas Eve lunch in the bar area where Brian served us great cocktails, wine & food on this special occasion. Our two friends enjoyed Wildfire on what was their first visit and will surely return for the top notch food, drinks, service and ambiance. Always look forward to dining at Wildfire!
