J. Coco Ratings and Reviews
My son and his wife were up from Kansas City to celebrate his 40th birthday. We had a great time. Our server, Hannah Z, was excellent. She was quietly efficient, always there when we needed her, but never hovering. The food was very tasty, and everyone raved about their meal. We will be back!
I really enjoy the atmosphere of J Coco and our server, Sean, was excellent. He took great care of us, even though it was a busy Saturday night. My braised oxtail and mushroom stroganoff was amazing; the best comfort food I’ve had in a while. J Coco has been such a positive addition to our neighborhood.
We went for my birthday, which always falls during a very busy time (between Christmas and New Years) While the place was very busy, and it took a little awhile for us to get our wine I didn't mind at all because of how unique and cool the place was, seriously such a cute little place! The wait staff was very friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed. The food was incredible, worth the price. Will be back for sure!
Has come to be one of our favorite Omaha restaurants (beside the one we co-own, Vincenzo's). The flavor combinations that Jennifer creates are out of this world. We brought some friends who are not 'foodies'. They were amazed. Staff is very cordial and knowledgeable.
Our table was ready for us even though we were about 15min early. The waiter was funny and very informative. He stayed on top of things with our meal and kept checking in. Whenever my wine or water got low he just showed up to top things off and see if we needed anything else. We enjoyed the meal and the restaurant. I would go there again.
The food was very good except for the Prime rib sandwich. The meat was tough but the rest of the sandwich was great. Love the house dressing on the salad. Service was slow but the entire restaurant was filled including a party room. I have to go back and try the Oxtail stroganoff. The small bit I had of a friend was fantastic.
Had another wonderful dinner that was absolutely delicious and what I have come to expect from J. Coco! The service at our latest visit was not quite up to par with what I have experienced before. We ordered two cocktails and watched them sit on the bar for 5-10 minutes before our server finally noticed that they were not delivered. Additionally, a request for more bread to go with our cheese plate was forgotten a couple of times before that was delivered. I'm hoping to write this off as just an off night, but it will be remembered the next time when deciding where to head for dinner!
I have been a bit less-than-charitable to J. Coco in past reviews, but our dinner Friday night was really nice. The place was packed, so I was glad I had a reservation. We saw many people we knew there - it is Omaha, but this was the place to be. The waiter was very nice and helpful and the good superb. I like the Garcia, a potent Tequila drink. My husband and friend enjoyed the beer choices, and my friend enjoyed a wine. I'm not into beer or wine, so won't comment on that. Ambiance is very cool, cozy and beautiful.
On our date night, we did not receive bread, like every other table, the place was extremely loud, the staff seemed extremely overwhelmed, and their WiFi was down. I didn't care about the WiFi as I didn't have my phone out, but the waiter came back after taking my credit card and let me know that he had to write down the number for later. This worries me as I work in the financial industry and would assume that they should not be in possession of my card number. I now have to cancel my Amex due to this not being disclosed before the bill was takrn. This was very worrisome as I could have paid cash but this was not offered as an option. The food and drinks were very good, just disappointed in the staff and situation that I was put in.
We had both the nightly special and an entrée from the menu as well as an appetizer. All were awesome. The Cheese Frenchie appetizer was delicious and quite filling for just (2) people. The Barbacolo Short Ribs were very tender and flavorful. The special was outstanding! It was an Oxtail noodle dish...I don't remember. Our waiter Scott was awesome as well. We will be going back to try more of the menu!
