J. Coco Ratings and Reviews
On our date night, we did not receive bread, like every other table, the place was extremely loud, the staff seemed extremely overwhelmed, and their WiFi was down. I didn't care about the WiFi as I didn't have my phone out, but the waiter came back after taking my credit card and let me know that he had to write down the number for later. This worries me as I work in the financial industry and would assume that they should not be in possession of my card number. I now have to cancel my Amex due to this not being disclosed before the bill was takrn. This was very worrisome as I could have paid cash but this was not offered as an option. The food and drinks were very good, just disappointed in the staff and situation that I was put in.
We had both the nightly special and an entrée from the menu as well as an appetizer. All were awesome. The Cheese Frenchie appetizer was delicious and quite filling for just (2) people. The Barbacolo Short Ribs were very tender and flavorful. The special was outstanding! It was an Oxtail noodle dish...I don't remember. Our waiter Scott was awesome as well. We will be going back to try more of the menu!
The appetizers are outstanding- delicious and creative. The menu is more than sufficient- not so extensive that food is only adequate. Instead every entrée that I have tasted is so well-prepared and is outstanding. The service is consistently excellent. A downside- the noise level rises as the evening progresses.
Great upscale restaurant that pretends to be a neighborhood eatery. The ambiance is casual yet classy without being the slightest bit pretentious. The bar makes really good drinks, and the food is delicious with enough occasional menu changes to keep it interesting. Prices are about average for this type of place. Plenty of parking in back, so don't freak out at the 3 full parking places out front.
I love this restaurant!! My husband had been there for lunch before, but this was his first dinner experience. He was blown away by the food. This was our first time trying the Kimchi Pork Belly Fried Rice as a side dish. OMG!! This needs to be served in a larger portion as an entree. So delicious!! You can never go wrong with the Seabass. My personal favorite.
Two very good meals; two very average meals.. Two dishes were not hot; hardly warm. Waiter was OK; but spent most of his time with regular customers.. Can't blame him; but every customer can be a regular. We have been here numerous times; while it was an O K experience ; was our first time we were not very pleased. We will be back.
I must say that we were disappointed. My husband and I have been here before and have been very happy and enjoyed it quite a lot. We thought this would be a perfect place to treat our family after a small wedding (10 people total). The young man that waited on us was fairly new, but he was delightful. The food took longer than expected and when it arrived we were disappointed to say the least. While the Wagu burgers the younger ones had were good, the tenderloin medallions were not not tender at all, and overcooked for medium rare. The portion size of the sea bass was minuscule, had to dig to find it at all. For your sake, I hope we were just there on an off night.
