Great service from start to finish for our date night out. We got the 3 course and it was delicious. The soup, salad, steaks and desserts were perfect! Thanks for a great night!
Location good, service was ok, menu way over priced
Underwhelming. Service was spotty. Food was not delivered properly. Seemed haphazard with sides and fries coming out minutes after the entres. Medium rare was rare and not hot. The service and food quality at Roots are demonstrably superior to this Morristown 2nd steak house entrant.
Excellent food and service!
Slightly disappointed that no sangria mix was available for our wine like it was at the Dover location.
Wonderful experience. Filet mignon perfect! Sides very good . Service very good . Will definitely return .
J&K has the best steak anywhere! It's like you take that first bite and your eyes roll back in your head it's so good! Every single time I go! Have never ever been disappointed there. Highly recommend it.
Excellent service and food. Highly recommend!
Love their blue cheese salads and steaks are the best in town. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
This is the first time their Rib Eye Prime steak was not up to par!!
Every time we dine here they make us feel like family. We always have a wonderful experience.
Always amazing food. And having a BYO steak place is a rare treat!! Thankfully food is so so good here. Best steak place around. Period. Time for the secret to get out!!
Great date night experience. The bacon appetizer was perfect. We shared the porterhouse and it was cooked exactly how we like it. The grilled asparagus were huge. Chocolate molten cake was a nice, rich ending.
Steak was outstanding. Excellent service. Hopefully, will a bar as currently BYO.
I love this place number one because it's a BYO. The prices are descent as well. There are just a few things that need help: service is one of them. We asked for champagne glasses and they didn't come, but the hostess (I wish I got her name, but I couldn't find her to thank her when I was leaving 3/3/18). She came to the rescue and got our champagne glasses and was very personable and made us laugh. Then our waiter, at least I think he was our waiter, opened up the champagne and walked away. We got up to get it because it was being chilled in a container on the side and started to serve ourselves, until another waiter saw that and ran over to finish serving it. Our waiter and absolutely NO personality and only interacted with us when taking our order and giving us the check. Actually, he only smiled once and that was when we handing over our credit cards to pay. The other issue is that they have a chimichurri sauce that you can get for your steak and they charge you for it. Seems petty.
Great value BYO steakhouse!!! Brussel sprouts and filet mignon were the highlights!
My wife and I frequent this restaurant quite regularly. We always know that both the food ant the service will be first rate. Heir salads are fresh, their steaks are exceptional, and their sides are terrific, as well. This is one of the few steakhouses around that have really good steaks and is B.Y.O!
Third time there. Great as usual. Our waiter Jeff was great. Staff wonderful. Hostess Linda is your greatest asset.
Have been there many times before with a good experience, however this the food was sub par. From sword fish being a little fishing to my prime steak that was a little chewy. Just expected better.
Steak was inferior(Kansas City bone in $51)..Was no better than a Shop Right steak and certainly didn't taste aged or had prime(as described) texture. Also the waiter mis-described it as a cowboy steak which is what I wanted. My wife's rack of lamb was rare(she ordered medium) and refuses to send stuff back
Service was good , wait staff nice.
Yeah yeah service is slow, who cares.. bring a lot of wine and good people to drink it with. Always a solid go-to spot in town.
Our food was good but I just couldn't get over that we had to paid extra for the steak sauces. You paid $40 for a 10oz filet la a carte my I add and then they hit you with $2.50 for a sauce!!
Enjoyed a great meal celebrating a birthday with family. This was our first time there but not our last for sure. Top notch steaks at reasonable steakhouse prices. BYOB was a plus too. Shout out to Jane who made the night even more fun with her outgoing personality and photography skills. Thank you for making it an evening to remember.
Started with Caesar Salad and Chorizo Flambé. The salad was a pile of white lettuce, but the a chorizo was very tasty.
We split the Lobster & Bay Scallops Linguine next. One dish was covered nicely with sauce yet the other was dry. The lobster was over-cooked and those sweet Bay Scallips were actually cut up Seas Scallops.
Steak was fatty and under-cooked. A few tweets and this place could be quite good.
Great flavor and service. I dont Remember our waiters name but he was amazing.. we will be back..
This is definitely a higher end, more expensive place for special occasions. I took my boyfriend for his birthday. The food was amazing! We did the pre fixe menu and it was definitely worth the money. 3 course meal plus 2 sides and coffees was less than $150. But we each had amazingly cooked filet mignon!!! Well worth the money. Staff was friendly and attentive as well. Only complaint I have is we asked if sides came with steak and were told no so we ordered 2 sides, but turned out the steaks did come with fries. This was a bummer since we ordered mashed potatoes. But it was all so good we didn't mind so much. Lots of leftovers for a second 5 star meal!
Great food and wonderful service. Will be back soon to enjoy one of the best steaks in town!
Food tasted great! My boyfriend and I visited on Valentine’s Day. Price fixe menu worked out well, I believe we received our money’s worth. I ordered a filet with a side of mashed potatoes and it was delicious. Steak was perfectly done do my liking and juicy. It’s a nice place in Morristown, especially if you’re looking for a special evening.
Great place the ambiance was awesome I like the fact its BYOB, the service was great as well and the food was great...I will be visiting again
Great food and good service. Appetizers and desserts were delicious and the steaks were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend.
Valentine’s Day dinner before a show
Just a wonderful experience, as always.
Service was excellent. Nice atmosphere. I had a 48 ounce porterhouse dry aged that I shared with a friend. For $92 it should have been much better. Under seasoned and very tough. Not impressed! My wife had a 10 oz. filet that she order medium rare that was over cooked. Unacceptable for a high end steakhouse. The 4th person in our party had a bone in ribeye which was properly cooked medium rare and much more tender and better seasoned than either of the other 2 steaks we had. I have been to J &K steakhouse a bunch of times over the past 6-7 Years. Some meals have been excellent and some just ok. I would like to see a little more consistency in their steaks especially since they advertise 28 day dry aged steaks and they are on the expensive side.
Many tables were complaining
Wrong order came out
We waited so long in error they offered us desert menus they couldn’t believe we didn’t even get our dinner
Food was fair
They offered no apology for anything in fact was rude
Food was excellent ! Service was horrible.
Another great meal at J&K! The hostess is always so friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious and they were accommodating of our time constraint. Great place to eat before a show at Mayo Performing Arts Center, which is only a short walk away.
We had a reservation for 6 at 6 with intentions of the 8pm show down the street. Service was slow. Water glasses weren’t refilled timely. White wine off chilling seemed to have been forgotten. Beef is excellent but I feel other area restaurants providing same quality food overall ambiance and service was stronger.
Overpriced. Service slow and unintentive. All tables in front third subject to sever draft door. Everyone eating with coats on. Steak was OK but not top steakhouse level. Deserts we prefrozen supermarket quality. Not close to Flemings or Ruth Criss more like Delmonico’s with poor service and worse food. There are much better choices.
My friend and I dined at J&K after the Elvis Show. The service was excellent, the food perfectly done, all was neat, clean and the cost was appropriate.
J&K Steakhouse is an always reliable restaurant with high quality fare, friendly service that comes at the pace you want and a warm ambiance. It's great for all kinds of occasions. On top of that, it's a BYOB. For a wine person like me, that's a completely winning proposition. I've been here many times and have always been completely satisfied. I highly recommend it.
Took clients out for dinner and it was great as always! Rack of lamb was a winner as an appetizer for the group and steaks were excellent, done to perfection. The fixed price menu is a great value and the fact this is one of the only high end steakhouses that is also BYO really make it quite reasonable compared to others. Recommended!
