Jack our waiter was excellent.
Miserable ambiance. Super loud. Table next to us out of control. Yelling screaming clapping. Took hours for our food. This is NOT fine dining. Server got our CC and didn’t give us proper receipt. Ran up to us and treated us like thieves. I asked for the manager and some absolutely obnoxious very young and inexperienced woman claimed it was her. She continuously talked over me and interrupted me. She wouldn’t let me the GUEST speak. She was rude and condescending. After enough of her idiocy my wife said Let’s just leave. On the way out she was loudly spouting disrespectfuly to my back “if that what you want to think” and other rude comments. I uttered some profanity and left. Ask yourself is it worth spending $300 plus for two people to be treated rudely in a absurd frat boy atmosphere? NO. I have been there many many times over the years. The food is now cliche and the atmosphere horrible unless you are a drunk 30s frat boy. Management is useless unless you like to guarantee that interaction with them totally ruins your night. Rude and untrained in the least and aggressively offensive in reality. The guest should be heard as well as listened to, especially after miserable service and management that could care less about you enjoying your experience. All they had to do is look in their reservation system to see that I have dined her e multiple times. They must be planning on only serving drunken low class conventioneers who will never return. I won’t either!!! $300 checks must not have impressed the staff enough to be respectful.
Noisy atmosphere, slow service from all staff and mediocre food.
Phenomenal food, service and setting. Everyone at our table of four ordered a different cut of steak and no one was disappointed. Reluctantly skipped appetizers (as the options looked wonderful) because we weren't hungry enough. Entrees, sides and desserts were fantastic. Dined with three kids who asked for minor changes to the standard preparation of the entrees which were happily accommodated. The food matches the amazing view. Would definitely dine here again.
I had not been to this restaurant for several years. We went for to celebrate Valentine's Day even though it was a couple days past. I was pleasantly surprised. It was excellent. The food, service and ambiance were all perfect. We will definitely be back!

We’ve been here before, but are still always amazed with the outstanding quality of the food and service. The fantastic views and ambiance are a bonus as well.
We attended for Valentines. Lovely evening, we have been here many times but tonight was not up to standards. Perhaps it was the rainy weather but the food didnt shine as it usually does. Normally a very creative chef and phenomenal flavors, not tonight but maybe next time. We will be back when the weather gets great.

Probably the best steakhouse i’ve been too! Steak and the sauces were amazing as well as the appetizers of pork belly and beet risotto! Service was amazing and the view to die for! Would recommend for anyone visiting scottsdale and need a perfect date or special occassiom restaurant!

Beautiful location on the 5th floor of the Phoenician Hotel, worth the view of the sunset, amazing! Wait staff and presentation was impeccable, well spaced meal left time to enjoy the company and each course.
J&G is one of our favorite restaurants and we always ask for Candace as a server (she is outstanding). However, last weekend we drew another server (wish I had gotten his name) because Candace was committed to serving a large party. This guy did the worst job of serving I have ever experienced. He argued with us when we sat down, ignored us for drinks for 10-15 minutes and was simply a miserable human being. Luckily Candace stopped by the table several times and brought us a special treat on her own at the end of the meal. We won't let this turn us off to J&G as this was a once in many visits bad experience, and we spoke with the size of our tip. But in the future we both plan to be more vocal if this ever happens again and recommend that you are too. There is no excuse for bad service.

The food did not live up to the hype in this great venue. Chef infomercials advertise fresh and healthy, yet the 16 oz NY Strip was served with at least 5 oz of uneatable fat, and the wild mushrooms were really 'wild' making them less than enticing. Manager stated all feedback is a learning opportunity; we think Chef should visit some of the other great restaurants in Scottsdale like we did to see what people actually like at a steakhouse. Most of the staff was friendly and courteous including the manager who resolved our complaint, although our waiter could have eaten some humble pie. With the right food selection, this certainly can be a great option with a very nice view.
Outstanding service and menu
The ambiance was much better than the food! The oysters were good. The squash soup was watery, good flavor but water consistency. Ordered the chicken and the cod and both were below average, as was the dessert. Wouldn’t return.
While we arrived later for some would say the later seating it seemed hectic! Our service experience was good. I did observe others not having good service. Food was delicious. Good cut of prime beef and yummy Tuna Tartar and heirloom tomatoes! Will return!
Expected more. Did not feel very welcomed by the hostesses. Service was slow when we sat down. The staff didn’t work together as a team. Manager walked through the restaurant several times but did not interact with diners, or even make eye contact. Our appetizer plates sat uncleared on the table 10-15 minutes, including a lobster carcass from the chilled lobster appetizer. I finally flagged down the manager and he had to clear the table himself. Service improved slightly after that, but then fell off again at the end of the dinner.
Food was good, but expensive for what you received. We were able to get a window seat as we had requested, which made for a nice setting.
There was live music in the bar, which carried into the restaurant, plus the tables around us were fairly loud (bad accoustics?), so it was difficult for us to have a conversation. There was also a screaming child at a nearby table, which you normally don’t encounter in a high-end restaurant like this, but the in-hotel location leads to a wide variety of diners.
Ironically we had breakfast the next day at a simple diner, and our experience there was better, because their staff worked as a team, and everyone who walked by our table was willing to take care of us.

Everything at J&G was outstanding. Service was professional and prompt. The courses were timed appropriately and service was non-intrusive. Food was delicious. We both had steaks--mine a filet medium rare, his NY Strip medium. Both were cooked to perfection. I love that they serve the steaks with four sauces on the side. The pork belly appetizer was the best we've ever had. We topped off the meal with baked alaska and it was a perfect end to a perfect dinner.
