J&G Steakhouse Scottsdale at The Phoenician
Outstanding! Excellent food, Service, views and ambience!
Of all the restaurants in the Phoenix area, J&G Steakhouse consistently delivers top-quality food and service. The kids and I actually had the same waiter we had during our last visit. Although he initially comes off as rather proper, he's wickedly efficient and helpful, and has a dry sense of humor that's fun and uplifting. If you want a dining experience you can count on to be good, J&G Steakhouse is the place to go.
We sat outside and the Az weather was perfect. Beautiful sunset and a view of the city. We ordered the oysters, Kumamoto and blue point which were briny and tasty. We then had the filet and it was buttery smooth the sauces outstanding, asparagus risotto, potatoes gratin, creamy with comete cheese. A delicious, beet salad with yoghurt, crispy onions and roasted hazel nuts and herbs.
All was amazing we ate there 3 nights in a row!
Birthday dinner. Everything was fabulous from start to finish. Food was as fabulous as the views.
Loved it! Great food and beautiful venue
We opted for the tasting menu. A few bucks more than most entrees, but well worth it. Fish was delicious and steak was perfect. I also opted for the wine pairing and it did not disappoint.
For this being one of the top steakhouses in Arizona, I was extremely disappointed. The food was bland. Minimal seasoning and I am salt sensitive, so for me to feel this way is not good. The steak had no flavor at all. For the price, it just wasn't worth it. The spinach was also bland. The risotto and shrimp cocktail were fantastic. The views help salvage the night. Sat on the patio and it was spectacular.
So glad we gave it the third try. Our first two visits were mediocre but this time every dish was exceptional. My rare bone-in ribeye was perhaps the best steak I've had in the valley. It was thick, perfectly grilled and deliciously tender. Husband's Dover sole was de-boned tableside and he LOVED it. Side dishes and the salad were excellent also. Looking at the calendar to see when we can come back.
We has great food great service and great ambience.
It was so goo the night before we had to go back for more...
French Onion Soup, very nice.
Heirloom Tomato Salad was delightful
Dungeness Crab was wonder ..so were the Block Truffle Cheese bites...
One of us had the Filet OSCAR style and it was cooked perfectly..
Skip the Strawberry Rhubarb ...not there best attempt...lots of crumble not much filling...
Its a nice experience, and the live music is awesome. You will enjoy the atmosphere.
Love this restaurant and will be back often
We had the best experience you could possibly imagine..
My Mom tuned 101.5 while in Scottsdale...and she was honored by the hotel and the restaurant with a very special desert and a signature plate..in J&G Steakhouse and also a sweet surprise in our room her favorite Chocolate and Nuts...
My compliments to the Phoenician...
BTW - the lobster was perfectly executed..and the service exceptional...
Excellent service and food is amazing. I was my bday. I will recommend to all my friends.
service, ambience, quality food, solid wine list
Great Experience! Paul was awesome
Absolutely wonderful. The food and service was amazing and the view was fantastic. Really made for a great birthday dinner.
Initial service very slow but food was served timely after order was taken. The au gratin potatoes were delicious and the broccoli was perfectly steamed, but the bread, calamari, crab legs and filet were just average. Pretty setting!!
Always a favorite. Beautiful views. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. Each course was perfect along with each wine that accompanied the course. Just a beautiful meal.
The atmosphere is very nice and slightly "hipper" than a traditional steakhouse. The menu is fairly typical of a steakhouse, although I was surprised to not see creamed corn as an option. Our server was very nice and very friendly. She truly engaged with my kids, which was nice to see. The biggest complaint that I had revolved around the kids menu and the lack of a kids size steak option. My kids like a good steak, but at 10, 11 and 12 years old, they are not going too eat, nor would I allow them, a 12 or 14 oz steak! Even the smallest Filet, which is very rich, is 8 oz. They need to make a 6 oz filet available as a kid's option
WE BELONG TO THE PREFERRED DINER CLUB AND GET ONE ENTRE FREE. WHEN THE BILL CAME THEY ADDED A $45.00 SERVICE CHARGE TO THE BILL. SO THE ONE FREE ENTRE WAS NOT FREE.
The tuna tartare was excellent. I ordered the cauliflower steak for $24.00! It was not cooked well and was just a quarter of the head- not a “steak”. It was pretty raw so very challenging to cut and eat. The flavoring did not go through the entire cauliflower so parts were totally flavorless.
Service was excellent and beautiful ambiance.
Outdoor seating was limited because hotel occupancy was not high so we could not sit outside...none of our 4 different meat choices were cooked to the requested temperature...had to send back and still was not correct.
Overpriced for quality...will not return
Impeccable service great food. It was the ultimate dining experience. Bravo to everyone who works at this fabulous restaurant!
The views and service were great. I had higher hopes for the quality and taste of the food. I eat at steakhouses all over the country and was not too impressed with the food here. I would seek other steakhouses in the area. Our server was great!
Service was painfully slow for our party of five. Others that arrived after us were served before we were. Wait staff was courteous, and food very good, but not memorable.
Amazing time went there to proposal to my girlfriend. The restaurant was very accomkdaying
Food was excellent, all around! Nice atmosphere--only reason I didn't rate noise level better was a happy hour group came inside and made a ruckus. Good service and great view!
You can't beat the view, complement that with great food and you can't go wrong.
J & G steakhouse was a really nice patio experience.
It is not a go to place, but, once in a while enjoyable.
would recommend to try if gonna be the in area.
Could be a lot better.
Steak was literally Sizzler/buffet quality. Awful. Service however was very good.
Choose restaurant for convenience since we were staying on the property. Very, very noisy inside. Steaks unexpectedly, for the price, on the tough side. Service was great, but would not return.
Outstanding service, tasty food and great view of the east valley. A few too many young children for my liking but they were not seated next o us.
Great food and great service....... a little pricey but worth it!
It was great!
Food was great, service was great, a beautiful atmosphere, but when a baked potato is ala carte and costs $10, that’s exorbitant and borders on the rediculous. We had 2 steaks, 3 drinks, one salad and one order of mushrooms and our bill not including tip was $203.
Food was very average for such a high end place. Almost seemed like it sat for some time before served. Never a good thing for a steak.
We went for my husband's birthday, the restaurant and the view were amazing! It's truly stunning! The service was very fast, however the waiter was attentive and slowed it down. We got a wine pairing with our meal and we learned little to nothing about them or why they matched our food, which was disappointing. The food was good, and interesting, however it did not match the price tag. The fish was on the overcooked side, the rice a tad under-cooked, and the choice of dinnerware for the food was interesting. Almost all of it came in bowls and it was hard to eat out of due to the shape. Overall a pleasant experience, with the desert and the tuna tartar being the stars of our meal. Due to the price tag of a full course meal, I would not repeat it. Though we would go back from drinks and appetizers any day. The view of Phoenix truly is stunning!
Birthday celebration. Food was excellent!!
