J&G Steakhouse Scottsdale at The Phoenician
We had one of the best dinners we have ever had here! Our server, Jeff, was amazing and the food was delicious!
Our waiter, Zack, was awesome! We dined on a Monday night so not many patrons and therefore a quiet evening. French onion soup was probably best I’ve ever had. Overall a great experience.
the Waygu for 2 was the bomb, Robert was a great server and knowledgeable
The Phoenician is an unbelievable resort and J&G couldn't compliment this place better! The food was incredible and the new remodel is stunning. The entire staff, especially our server Amy, was 5 star! We will be back!
Bar area was awesome. Had a drink before dinner. Dinner was great too, but once they started playing live music in the lounge, it was way, way, way too loud for my taste. Had to focus to listen my partner sitting right next to me. Will definitely go again, just hopefully the music will turned down a few notches.
Average meal at best. Limited selection.
From the first touch at the Hostess Stand to the end of the evening, It was magical...Food was awesome and the service even better. A Great Special occasion place...we will be back!
Beautiful steakhouse, amazing views, best service! Be sure to ask for Amy, she’s fabulous!
My only complaint was the music was too loud. Other than that everything was perfect!
This is a beautiful restaurant with amazing views overlooking Phoenix. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I have dined here several times over the years and it has remained consistently top notch. Great for date night or anytime.
We were in from out of town for a special event and J&G was recommended to us. We couldn’t have asked for better. The view was absolutely stunning and the food was amazing. The service was a top-3 experience in our opinion. Ask for Amy - she is the best.
Wonderful service, wonderful food. A real fine dining experience.
Excellent service, fantastic food - always a pleasure dining at J&G.
First evening of week off in Phoenix - terrific!
Beautiful views, excellent food and top notch service! The servers have consistently done a great job at making our dining experience one of the best.
Great atmosphere and location. Amazing views and the food was great. Amy was an awesome waitress and really made the experience.
Service at The Phoenician was excellent; ambiance ok; the food was terrible. We ordered the most expensive on the menu with added lobster tail, the heirloom tomato salad. Both were recommendations. The cod was terrible - in fact we both got sick from it. We have had perch and walleye on a Friday night fish fry that far exceeded the cod. The salad was fair, the corn ravioli was poor. Even the presentation was not great except for the desert. Would not go back or recommend. Appreciated the experience, but next time I'll listen to the locals and go somewhere else. Sorry Phoenician. I wanted it to be a great review!
So this place is beautiful. I’ve been there three times recently. The food is top notch. The view is best in town with the possible exception of Elements. We did not have a pleasant waitress. The hostess, host and managers were all very kind but she brought the mood down. When you are paying $100/person you expect only the best. Also I was already down on the service and when the check came they charged me for refills of my Arnold Palmer. Maybe that’s normal but I hate getting nickled and dimed. I think this place is worth going to but I hope your server is more pleasant. And order tea if you want free refills as they explained the lemonade mixed with tea makes it a nonrefillable drink. It’s the little things that make the entire experience the best and they missed it by an inch.
We enjoyed the meal. Meats and appetizers were great. Sides were a mix of very good and why can’t you get this right? It was our anniversary and the restaurant and staff did a very nice job of recognizing this and surprised us with a wonderful desert.
The noise level was a bit of a negative. There was a large group celebrating a birthday. They were loud and the f-bombs were a spoiler. It should have been managed. When they left the restaurant quickly became what it should be. Casual and romantic.
All in all there is no doubt we will return.
This was my wife's and my first time to the J&G and it was nothing short of spectacular. The food was simply amazing. The ambiance was good. The location is impeccable. And our staff, Candice, made the entire evening that much more special. She was pleasant, professional and just a joy to be around, making small talk when appropriate, making us laugh more than once, and meeting all of our dining needs. Thank you for a fantastic evening!
A grand and lovely dining spot at the resort and we were proud to celebrate our 19th anniversary there!
The food and the staff was amazing. I enjoyed the restaurant the view was memorable.
First time to J & G. Overall just average food nothing that stood out that would bring me back. I honestly have had better tasting food at Capital Grill and Preston's. The prices are basically the same. Service was extremely slow over 2 hours for dinner. UHH The views of the city were beautiful and very clean looking facility. Nothing wowed me to come back again!
Food was great and service was excellent
The chopped salad and corn ravioli were amazing. The bartender was friendly and so was our server. Our entire meal was very good.
We had several of the fish dishes and they were really tasty and of good quality. The drinks wete good as well. My only complaint is that the restaurant was freezing cold. I don't understand why most restaurants do this. You come in from excessive heat and they have it turn down to 60ﾟ or something and you can't stand it. I practically feel like I have to wear Winter clothes to go out to dinner in the summer here. Our server was quite helpful and efficient. I have no complaints about the place except next time I think I will bring a parka.
We asked for no mussels on our seafood app. and to be replaced with oysters. We did not get the extra oysters. We said something our waitress. When she cam back she explained to us that someone in the kitchen said they had given us extra oyster's. Not true! We both ordered filets. One was to be med and the other med rare. They both came out med well. The bus boy cam over and asked if I would like to have another drink (Bacardi and diet), I said yes. He came back with a coke. I can't have soda unless it's diet.
I was not pleased with our experience. The waitress was very nice. I will not recommend J & G to my friends. For what you're charging the prices are to high. When your prices are what they are then your customers expect a bit more.
Everything was great, from the view to the food to the service. Top notch!!!
The service and food was deserving of a 5 star rating! I have never been disappointed coming to dine here!
Beautiful location and the service was very good. The dinner rolls that began the meal were good and the desserts that ended the meal were excellent. The problem was what was served between. We ordered the three course meal. I ordered the watermelon gazpacho, not very tasty. Companion had the charred corn ravioli, extremely salty. A very long wait before the entrees arrived. We both ordered the flat iron steaks. These were, without a doubt, the worst steaks that I have ever had. The steak knives provided had a difficult time cutting through them. I managed to finally cut four bite size pieces, one of which I had to spit out. I gave up at that point and looked at companion's plate. What a mess. She had worked very hard and hadn't been able to cut through much of it. Server offered to cook us some fillets, but didn't want another long wait. We ate our desserts and left. Cannot recommend this restaurant. One star for ambience.
It is a wonderful experience with great atmosphere and impeccable service! Great night!
We were hugely disappointed. Meat over cooked with no flavor, environment too loud and poor service. We won’t return.
Our experience was outstanding from the moment we entered until we left. The staff was very friendly, humorous, fast, efficient and worked hard at satisfying our every need.
Very good food. We found it a little to dark and had problems reading the menus.
My father-in-law who has travelled the world said the Dover sole was the best he’s ever tasted.
Every steak was cooked to everyone’s requests.
Very happy Scottish family
We had a Caesar salad, a crab cake, and a halibut entree. Of course the food was fresh and cooked properly, however the flavoring wasn’t inspiring and bold. The pairings were average.
Service was great. Walked in the door and was treated very well. Nice music playing in the back ground and a beautiful view of the city from the patio.
J&g brisket burger was amazing!
I’ll be back for seconds.
Terrific view and not as pricey as you might expect
Steak was well done instead of medium. Sent it back but my food did not come back until my companion was finished 20 minutes later. By that time I did not want to eat alone. If he had waited for my meal to arrive his dinner would have been cold. Ruined our evening out.
