J. Alexander's - Redland's Grill - Northbrook
We celebrated a family Birthday with dinner at j. Alexander's Redland's. It is one of our favorite restaurants and never disappoints. Thank you J. Alexander's.
My friend and I ate lunch at J. Alexander’s Redlands Grill in Northbrook. He had a shrimp tower on top of a wedge of lettuce and other greens and enjoyed it immensely. I had seared Ahi Tuna sliced very thin and placed on a bed of mixed greens with ginger and wasabi. It was excellent. We had a couple of ice teas to wash everything down. The service was attentive, friendly and cost was moderate. This is a neighborhood gem.
I had a reservation and had to wait almost 15 minutes. That was annoying
Great meal... great atmosphere and great food! Never a disappointment!!! Thank you for consistently being on top of your game!!
My friend recommends me to try their special promotion of prime rib on Sunday. It was cook to perfection. Highly recommended for a date or family night.
The Redland's Grill is part of an excellent chain that delivers pretty good food from an extensive menu of hits (ew.g., prime rib in slice or sandwich, delivered at temperature) and misses ( a "whole branzino" that turns out to be fillets so over-peppered as to need be returned to the kitchen). Service is efficient and pleasant. A good wine list for a chain restaurant.
This restaurant is so consistently good, it's amazing. Thank you to Morgan for always being so kind & caring - making sure everything was great. A special thanks for the birthday carrot cake - to die for.
One of my favorite neighborhood restaurant. Food and service always top notch.
Everything was great, although I wish the chefs would go easy on the salt. Of course it makes the food taste amazing, (we had brazing) but I was thirsty the rest of the night,
Great location to meet as the restaurant is right off the expressway. Service was very good and the menu selection left me wanting to come back and try a few more things. My only complaint was that it is a little loud, but that is because the restaurant was full! Make reservations for this one.
We started with the Quest Dip, so tasty! Love the Thai Kai salad. The peanut sauce is to die for.
Always great to be back for delicious food and fun atmosphere
Bartender needs to be trained. Worst pomegranate martini ever. Wanted their special drink made with vodka, but bartender couldn't figure out how to do that. Took at least 15 minutes to finally get a drink, after everyone else at the table had been served. Despite that, our server was delightful and the food was good.
Best fried shrimp I’ve ever had! The baked potato was delicious! And the coleslaw is fabulous!
always consistently good food and service. we live behind the restaurant so we like to come over and have a good dinner. we love the artichoke appetizer and the prime rib dinner on sunday. my husband loves the branzia, which is a mild fish. drinks are good too! keep up the good work.
I’ve never been here before and the food was amazing! Service was quick and all around great place!
Always popular. Nice lighting, table spacing and service. We had salads that were good. Manager stopped by to see if we enjoyed our meal - we did.
We had a nice dining experience at J Alexander’s. The good was very good. The branzino and steak kabobs were delicious. And key lime pie was amazing. The best part of the night was the friendly service from Steen. He was very attentive.
The service was good as far as wait staff. However, I not only texted in the special note section, Special Occasion, I also wrote Birthday.
I could not have been more specific. My friend selected your restaurant to celebrate. It was a significant birthday that we were both able to celebrate.
After waiting for quite awhile and not wanting to ask about our order bc it was a celebration, it came and the fries were cold. Again, as I would have just sent them back, I decided against that because was unsure how long it would take to get them back.
I also not only texted to please put a candle in her dessert, but also called that day for the same request - I was informed no problem, they have a note of it.
The waiter, knowing it was her birthday, never said, would you like a birthday dessert? That’s neither here nor there.
Obviously the dessert I then ordered had no candle.
It was an expensive dinner, which was over $60, with no alcohol. I was truly disappointed and again I didn’t want to speak with the mana and put a damper on my friends birthday celebration.
We were asked to wait for a table, but then seated immediately because another party changed their table, but when seated, napkins and setups had to be brought because the new table didn't have them. It was a Sunday evening, and the noise level was much quieter than usual. We asked for the salmon dip appetizer for the table but were told the kitchen was out of it. Perhaps that was due to the end of the week timing. The rest of the dinner choices were quite good, however.
We truly enjoyed our evening .. loved the prime rib and discounted wine specials! Our only comment was that our server spoke so softly she was hard to understand. After our food was served it took her quite a long time before she came back to inquire if everything was ok.
I love J Alexander’s and will still go back however we went at 3:30 and I think they were understaffed and we did not have good service. Drinks were not refilled often and nobody came to our table for at least 10 minutes when we first got there. Not the waitresses fault she just had too many tables.
The food was excellent, as it always is. The restaurant was crowded so the noise level was a bit high but our visit was enjoyable nonetheless.
I have been to J Alexander's many times, but my first trip to a Redland's Grill. It was a little smaller and less formal, but same good food and service. Will go back again.
My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. The food was great, I had fish and chips, which was a special and my friend had the chicken. We also had clam chowder (which we split) and nachos. And, since it was her birthday, we had a beautiful piece of cake brought to the table with a candle. We both had a great time.
A good evening meal was great service outstanding
We love this place. Food always good
Everything is great. If there are any errors they are quick to fix. They are concerned about diners experience.
Very nice evening
Redlands is a great place for after dinner drinks or dinner. The fish tacos are amazing. Great beer and wine list. The staff is friendly and helpful to make sure your experience is great.
Best as always. Best trained staff. Love it here the most
Food was great except for one of our meals which was cold when served. The server seemed very distracted and not with it.
Very nice place, good food, great drinks and most importantly superb service.
Excellent quality food. Large portions
Great restaurant for all occasions. One of my favorites that I visit often.
Great food and ambiance - wonderful place to connect over lunch.
The noise level was extremely high. Management should do something to reduce the soundboard
Had reservations and were seated immediately. Was very busy when we arrived and waitress was tied up, but another employee came and took our drink orders.
Food was great and two different managers followed up with us to make sure everything was good. Pretty impressed.
One offered to buy us dessert but we were so full from plentiful food we had to decline
Will be back for sure.
Never had anything but a top notch meal at J. Alexander's Redland's Grill. Highly Recommend!
