J. Alexander's - Palm Beach Gardens Ratings and Reviews
We ended up sitting at the bar on Valentines Day because the reservations were running behind. Food was good, but had a couple issues with the bill that I didn't mention because I was on a Valentines date and didn't want to put a damper on the night. Two of the menu items that we ordered were on special (Calamari and Scallops). We also got a bottle of wine, fliet oscar ahi tuna salad. When we got the bill the prices were not the special and was $12 higher than it should be. Our $167 meal should of been $155.
Other than that, everything was good, but you asked for my feedback and there it is.
My husband & I have eaten here, with friends or by ourselves, more times than I can remember. This is our go to place for lunch or dinner. We really like the food & staff. We were there this past Tuesday night. Two things really surprised me 1 - When I ordered a Prosecco I was told they don’t have it. I have to say that this is practically the only thing I drink & I can’t believe I’ve never had one here before. I’m sure I would have remembered if I couldn’t get it before. 2- My husband & I wanted to split a salad for an appetizer & our friends wanted to
do the same. We wanted them to split them in the kitchen, something we do in many restaurants, & was told there would be a 3.00 charge for each salad. We just all laughed & said we would split them ourselves. Every once in a while you just have
to have some principle.
Very disappointed in J Alexander’s on this visit. The quality of the meat steak brazzo was not up to par. Tenderloin should not be chewy or filled with gristle. It didn’t taste like tenderloin at all. I hope the management will check into this. Ordinarily we like the restaurant. But not this time. Hope it’s not a harbinger of what the food will be like in the future
some portions were large and others small.
Average taste for food...nothing to rave about.
If there is no where else to go on the "strip" you can always get a table here.
Its a big place, dark, and probably so you can't see the food your eating
Only once was enough for me.
This time the food was not that great.
My son asked for a steak medium well and it was very cooked. They cooked it again, and when it finally arrived the rest of the party already finished eating.
The second time it was still very cooked, and it did not taste that great.
We were a little bit disappointed because we had very good experiences other times we dined at the restaurant.
Birthday dinner and others had recommended this restaurant so figured we’d try it out. We were immediately seated in a spacious booth. Our server must have been having a bad night. Didn’t crack a smile and went through the motions the whole time we were there. Got our meal. The smashed potatoes were cold. Sent it back. Ordered broccoli as an extra side but that got screwed up and my medium well steak was well beyond over cooked. Server brought back the now hot dish without a word. Another person did come over to make sure everything was ok. Despite the note to the server that we were celebrating a birthday, nothing was acknowledged. Needless to say, we were unenthusiastic by the whole experience. Maybe it was an off night. As I said, others had good things to say about the place. Don’t know if we will give it another try. So many other places in our area to visit.
It was one of the most of not the best service and food at a restaurant I've ever had! Tiffany was our waitress and was willing to go far above and beyond and even offered to take the ribs in the back and have then cut for my friend who is part blind. She was always one step a head of us and joyfully anticipated our every want and need. She was the epitome of perfect customer service. She was genuine, didn't complain, and literally enjoyed her job. I'm seriously impressed. The food was perfect. That Mac and cheese is so good I could swim in it if it came in portions big enough to do so.
