The menu is arranged in a tapas style, serving traditional Japanese small plates along with dishes infused with international flavors and textures. The more traditional Japanese offerings include sashimi and nigiri, sourced from daily fish shipments from around the globe, along with dumplings and noodle dishes. The global cuisine experiments with a bevy of different flavors including unique items such as Grilled Panzanella Salad (jumbo lump crab, toasted focaccia, local goat cheese, pistachios, plum wine vinaigrette), Kobe Beef Sliders (seared foie gras, pomme frittes). A gluten-free menu is also available along with a popular weekday happy hour from 5 to 6:30 pm.

Always great. Grab a seat at the upstairs bar and hopefully the roof is open.
Phenomenal to be able to find sushi this good in Denver!
Great food, and fun atmosphere for a date or a family, or a celebration.
This is our go to sushi spot. The food is always fresh and incredible and the wait staff really know what they’re talking about in regards to the menu. We always get elegant descriptions when asking about the food. Not a single complaint
Outstanding Japanese dining experience. Toshi has a rock solid sister venue to his famed Sushi Den that shares the kitchen next door.
Favorite sushi in Denver! Awesome ambience and food is out of this world!
ALWAYS FANTASTIC AND CONSISTENT! Order anything on or off the menu and you won't be disappointed. Whether you enjoy craft cocktails or fine saki, all are superb. I love the upstairs rooftop in the summer, but Izakaya Den is wonderful anytime.
Good food. Poor service, server was not paying attention to us.
Fabulous dinner , service, and ambiance, from appetizers to the phenomenal desserts. Can't wait to go back for outstanding sushi
Not responsive to dietary needs. Struggled serving a birthday party of 6.
Excellent sushi! Beautiful restaurant! Good service! Very loud!
Still believe that Sushi Den and Izakaya Den are the best sushi restaurants in Denver. Consistent quality for more than 25 years.
the sushi den fish sourcing makes it the best sushi i've ever had, anywhere (izakaya is a sushi-den expansion)...amazing build-out...absolute best and freshest fish (his brother lives at the biggest japanese fish market and they ship from there, everyday) servers and bartenders are intensely trained...do yourself a favor and eat at a top restaurant in the world
Sushi was amazing, service was outstanding. Great experience, a bit pricey but definitely worth it.
Always great food and great service. Never disappoints.
Great food and service. First time I ever tried sushi and the server made excellent suggestions. Highly recommend!
Not SF sushi - but as close as you will get! And a great atmosphere with a diverse menu!
Excellent ambiance and the food was on point for everything recommended by a great staff!
Excellent sushi and service. Inside is great! Try it out; you'll love it!!
Sushi Den next door is a better sushi restaurant. My mom ate here and got an upset stomach.
Our favorite!!! Amazing food, ambiance and service.
One of our favorite sushi restaurants. They change up the menu daily so there is always something new.
The bar on the 2nd floor is the place to be! Great atmosphere and the sushi is to die for!
Very good food. Service could be better and more attentive. A bit pricey for what you get. Valet parking is a plus for this busy area.
Best sushi in town.
It's hard to make a choice every time we go there ;)
Also great for sake.
wonderful sushi and Japanese food of the highest quality.
This place is so delicious! One of my favorites in Denver. The sashimi is on point
Sit upstairs!! Love love love the food. Service is slow. I think they try and be respectful but don’t forget about us.
Perfect from the ambiance to the wine and sashimi selections. Wade made the experience excellent!
Izakaya Den was disappointing. We came for the Nigiri, but all the fish was underwhelming. I've had great experiences at Sushi and Ototo Den, so it's probably just a bad night, but the fish was average. We spent $100 on Toro alone and I have to say, it was the most disappointing Toro Fatty Tuna I have had in Denver.
Congratulatory meal to a recent graduate.
As always the wait between our monthly visits to Izakaya Den was worth it. The refreshing house salad, mouth-watering gyoza appetizer, and, of course, pristine sushi amidst Asian Modern architecture in a neighborhood setting. A Saturday evening well spent.
We love this restaurant. The food and service are killer!
Love this place I try to eat at the Sushi bar ! Always a pleasure . I also I have an onion allergy they always graciously help me eat well and safe
They need more skilled servers. The on we had was all over the place. Wish they could work for it more. Paying $$$ Atleast guest deserved more.
Great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
The best! Everything is amazjng
Perhaps we caught Izakaya Den on a bad night? Typically, we love the food, the ambiance and the service. This time the ambiance was good (upstairs atmosphere rocks), but we brought friends from Boulder and their first experience was lackluster. The downhill slide began when it took our waiter nearly a half-hour to take our drink order. He said "your drinks should be out real soon..." and then we reminded him that he hadn't taken our drink order yet. Doh! Finally, we got our drinks and thought that it would be a good idea to order our meals before he got away. We shouldn't have had to try to anticipate and circumvent poor service. Subsequently, the kitchen was out of my wife's preferred dish the Hamakama (understandable enough, I suppose) so she substituted Sesame Scallops. That dish and my friends wife's meal arrived - and my wife's scallops were severely over-cooked. My friend's and my Sushi Dinners took another half-hour to arrive, so my wife and his wife were finished with their meals before our meals were even close to arriving. So, our 7:30 reservation saw us eating in shifts until after 9:00pm. There was no offer of recompense, just weak excuses and self-promotion on the part of our waiter - in other words poor service with a "side" of BS. This was a sad introduction for new customers to Izakaya Den and a disappointing experience for previously enthusiastic and loyal customers.
Best sushi ever! And I have eaten it around the globe. I just wish they would bring back the lobster spring rolls. Not inexpensive, but worth it!
