Good food as always. Great venue, interesting building. Very friendly staff. Very good decent wine list. Have been here many times. This time the food was the star, tasty and good quality. The service left something to be desired today. I really dislike plates being cleared from some at the table when others are still eating, even when someone has on purpose left knives and forks crossed, not aligned to signal the dish having been finished off. Also getting asked if we want coffees or desserts while two people were still eating main course was very annoying. Otherwise ok.
Always a delightful experience when we dine in the bar. Personal treatment, food quality and atmosphere are all excellent.
One of our favorite restaurants. Very good food. We both had the beer can chicken which was the best we ever had. Our cocktails were made perfectly. The only problem was that our waiter was very busy and we had to wait in between servings. The waiter was very nice however. We would recommend this restaurant.
We had a wonderful meal at Ivy on Saturday. There were three of us and we each chose something different and all were very happy with our choices. I would have to say the Walleye was some of the most delicious fish Ive had. Service was equally good
The prime rib on Fridays is always excellent!
Love the food and good atmosphere
I think the service and ambiance is fine, however the food is okay, but not up to standards of price and upscale restaurant.
Great place to dine! The favorite of my wife and me.
We truly enjoy the food and consider Ivy one of our "go to" places. However, it might be time for the chef to mix up the menu offerings a bit.
Great location - food and ambiance. A bit pricy, but that comes with its downtown Wheaton location.
I grew up in Wheaton and never had been to Ivy. We went there for a birthday celebration and chose Ivy out of convenience (b/c my parents still live in Wheaton). It was pretty fantastic. I was impressed with the food and the service. Thanks, Ivy!!
We were seated on the top floor with doors open to a private cocktail party coming in and out for an hour. Could not converse at all. Wait staff was very sympathetic. Owners were out for the evening. There were visibly 4-5 tables for four open on lower floor. Open Table reservations were clearly not treated as well as phone-ins or locals.
I have dined at IVY several times and have always been very pleased with the service. Erin has been our server a few times and provides exceptional service. She is thoughtful and friendly, a very welcome sight when we visit.
Food and service were great as usual. The bone-in rib-eye was especially good
Great service and handled off menu order without issue. We will be back!
Everything was FABULOUS as always: great food, lovely atmosphere, wonderful service.
It is always a pleasure to dine at Ivy. Whether it is for a business lunch or an intimate dinner, the wait staff is attentive but not intrusive and the food is top notch. Finally, if you are lucky, Dick O'Gorman will tell you a funny joke.
Ivy's is one of many restaurants in downtown Wheaton,IL, but the only one that fits many occasions. It is suitable for a romantic dinner, a family gathering, a ladies lunch, you name it, Ivy's provides it all. The patio in the summer is absolutely fabulous!!!!!
All the food is good, service always outstanding! I can't say anything negative about this place.
The ambience and food were great. I plan to go back very soon, a new favorite of mine.
Not quite the "wow" on the menu items as our last visit, but still good. The banana crusted whitefish was mediocre. The chopped chicken salad had a great greens mix and dressing, but the chicken was dry and lifeless, the Gorgonzola nonexistent. Burger was satisfying, shaved prime rib sandwich was the best choice, and all of us enjoyed the sampler dessert. Service is professional and we always enjoy the stroll by visit of the owner/manager.
This is just a great place to eat and meet people. The food is consistent, the service great and the building is beautiful. They have parking on the street or you can have your car parked.
No need to have a special occasion to dine at Ivy, but would be a great special occasion place as well! Consistently great food, good service and an owner who makes sure all your needs are met!
Food was tasty, dessert was great. My only real complaint was when I made my reservation I stated it was for a birthday and asked that a happy birthday dessert be brought to the table even if charges applied, that did not happen. We did get a "hope u enjoy your birthday" on the way out.
Charming ambiance, delicious food
Ivy is always a favorite local spot, the food is good, the seriv ce is great and you can have a quiet conversation with friends.
Always enjoyable in the bar, whether we have a full dinner or a combination of appetizers. Suzie is a great bartender and always so pleasant.
great restaurant and wonderful service. Waiter was attentive and knowledgeable about wines.
Converted old church with fireplace and great ambiance. Food excellent with excellent cocktails. Only exception was slightly chewy steak. 4+ stars for atmosphere and ambiance. Try it out !
We loved this one . Food and service were awesome so as the ambient. It was in a old classic building. Nice n great food . I requested them to provide us a quiet place . So they did . On that special room there was only 5 table . I will definitely come here again n the sweets Ufffff unbelievable 💋😍
We have always loved Ivy for special occasions, but this was our first Friday All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry... and it was great! Our server was sweet (thanks Faith!), the food was as good as ever (which is “superior”), and we even scored a bottle of very nice California Chardonnay (“almost out of stock”) for an impressively reasonable $32. Irish coffee and pumpkin pie in a ramekin for dessert... ! Wheaton is SO lucky to have this downtown gem.
Love it there. Beautiful setting. Food and service both great. Second visit in three weeks :)
Good as usual. We've eaten here many times and it's always enjoyable -- great outside dining in the summer!
Such a beautiful restaurant! Food was very good, ordered the ribs, filet medallions and pork chops. Will recommend.
Our server Josh was phenomenal, A+ material. Very knowledgeable and straightforward with info, accommodating with suggestions and request. Would definitely make a second trip back
We love Ivy, and have been there many times, and for special occasions. We went to celebrate Valentine's, and thru Open Table I had asked for a seat by fireplace. Unfortunately, we were placed in the back room off the patio by fireplaces in that room. Not my favorite area in the restaurant, which is really beautiful. Its usually cold in there which it was, and not as pretty as the main room. Our waiter was wonderful and that made up for it. I was a little disappointed by a few other unexpected things I hadn't experienced dining there previously. Our little centerpiece was on the window sill next to our table, but not on it like the other tables in this room. There was not much on the menu I could pick from being it a lent Friday, and I'm not suppose to eat meat. There were fish entrees, but nothing I cared for and most too spicy for me. I was going to have macaroni, but that had ingredients in it I couldn't eat. So I ended up with fillet and shrimp which I asked be done medium. It was way undercooked and both the shrimp and fillet only lukewarm. I had to send it back, and the fillet came back better, but the shrimp was still luke warm with a sauce now poured on it, lol. Don't get me wrong it was still good, but I prefer my hot food cooked, and hot. Dessert and coffee were great. The owner is wonderful, and was in the back room, but didn't do his usual stop at our table, which was also a bit disappointing but I realize it was weekend after Valentine's Day so he was busy. Anyway, all is good, we will return I was just surprised not the usual excellence overall.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day
Good food and service. Beautiful building. The salmon was very good. And the potatoes are amazing. Also enjoyed the Caesar salad.
Very good service, as well.
Went for valentine’s day:
We had a 7:30 reservation and arrived at 7:15. The staff let us sit at the bar until i approached them.
- Bar drink are fair ... not so good
- food is fair
- service poor
- over priced
I suggest avoiding this place, i will never go back.
Very happy with this restaurant. Food and ambience were amazing and so was the service.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Food & Atmosphere!
Violinist & gutarist went table to table asking for requests of each couple there celebrating Valentine’s Day. Beautiful ❤️
