IVY Ratings and Reviews
Loved the beautiful building, plus the patio looks great for warmer months! Ivy has great options for starters, along with many meat and fish choices. The front bar looks very warm and inviting; the server of our table was wonderful. They crafted a multitude of delicious drinks for my table and I loved my hot chocolate cocktail. Comfortable place for those with less adventurous dining habits, while piquing my interest in experimental culinary desires. Happy to say that my family wants to make Ivy a regular location they dine at.
Went for dinner to celebrate a birthday. We had reservations and were seated promptly. They honored our request to sit near the charming fireplace. It was an early dinner so it was not very busy but I noticed that the wait staff was very attentive to us and all the tables nearby. Our group had a variety of steak dinners with soups and salads. All were prepared to the right temperature and were very flavorful. We enjoyed drinks from a nice (but not overwhelming) wine list but skipped dessert although we were enticed by the choices. Overall, we had a great visit. We'll be back!
Overall good experience, the food was served fast and warm. We had gotten there after other tables but had gotten our food before them which we hadn't minded given the occasion. The restaurant was quiet and cozy perfect for a Monday night dinner. The staff was nice and wished us a Happy Anniversary. We had eaten relatively fast and by the time we had finished we were waiting for the check for a couple of minutes looking for our waitress. I had been there previously and had the same problem, but it wasn't anything to be concerned about. Overall, great meal and would visit again. I highly recommend the crab cakes.
Very good food. One of us ordered a glass of sparkling wine which arrived flat—it was replaced. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas and we had a seat by the fireplace. Service was just a tad slow but efficient and friendly. The menu offers several gluten-free options, but unfortunately not in bread.
The atmosphere was lovely, there aren't too many restaurants that decorate for the holidays anymore, so I thoroughly loved the way Ivy's is decorated! It has such a festive feel to it!! We have been here previously, but never near the holidays, so this was a real treat. We were seated promptly and our waitress was right there to see if we wanted a drink, etc. We ordered the house wine, which was very good. Now on to the food, delicious! I ordered the Parmesan crusted salmon that just melted in my mouth, the potatoes were perfectly cooked(crispy on the outside, soft in the middle), the zucchini, crisp, but not hard. The friends that we were with were also delighted by their meals. It was a great experience! Only complaint is, sometimes a little noisy, but it wasn't anything we still couldn't enjoy a conversation over. A+ experience!
The Ivy is a tad pricey for the portion size received. I am a small eater and I have never had any leftovers any time I have dined with them. I was surprised that the crab cakes on the entrée are only three cocktail size meatballs. I really had no problem with ordering a dessert since I was not filled up at all. The ambience can not be beat and especially for a special holiday dinner or anytime you want to have a dinner with a friend. The carolers were fantastic.
We had an excellent dinner in charming surroundings. The service was very good and we all liked the variety of choices on the menu. We have eaten here three four times, once for a business lunch, and three times for a friends get together. I liked that they have valet parking, since it is downtown Wheaton, it is difficult to find a convenient parking space.
I have been to Ivy a few times before for date night and recommended it for our reward lunch at work. Everyone at the table were very impressed by the options and the quality of the lunch. People commented on how beautiful the restaurant was and how wonderful the service was. Two guests got the lamb chops and said they were mouth watering. Two of the guests got the parmesan incrusted salmon and loved the mixture of crunchy topping and buttery salmon. I got the crabmeat incrusted tilapia, the fish was melt in your mouth good, and the crabmeat was fresh and the perfect complement to the tilapia. Thank you so much for making this lunch so special for everyone who attended. I am sure we will be back! I know my teammates plan on coming with their significant others for dates as well.
Creative venue. Yes the date was a Saturday evening in December, BUT with a reservation, seating was late, had to wait. VERY noisy. Inattentive service. Menu looks inventive but delivery was not. Lots of sizzle but average delivery. Very expensive but poor value. Go once for the experience but do not go twice. Save you money for another venue.
Service not as attentive this visit. Waited a long time for bread, water refills since they didn’t leave a bottle on our table like everyone else. Mark- up on wine is crazy. Waited a long time to pay our bill. Will be a while before we return. Crystal was our server.
Ivy was fabulous! It has become my 'go-to" restaurant after just one visit. The food is scrumptious and very reasonably priced and the portions were plentiful. Wine pairing suggestion was spot on and the desserts couldn't possibly have been better. Bravo, Ivy!
The place was decorated very nicely for Christmas. We ate in the bar area. The place was packed and the football games were going on. The fish was fresh and properly prepared. The fingerling potatoes were very good and the other veggies were tasty. Sometimes they use a little to much oil on the veggies so tell them when ordering to go light. The wine was fine although rather expensive. It is a great place to eat and meet friends.
Outstanding food, creative and full of flavor. We had the beet salad which was delicious. We also had the tilapia and the salmon dishes. They were amazing. Great sauces and the vegetables and potatoes that came with it had just the right flavor to go with the fish. The service was also great. The waiter was attentive, but didn't make us feel rushed. He was very nice and really made our time there wonderful.
We dined here for a pre-theater dinner. Our server, Michael D., was attentive without hovering. He was knowledgeable about the menu. The sea bass was delicious, very moist, and the cod was well received. The one down side was the noise level, which cannot be controlled by Ivy. The ambience is great. We will definitely return.
