Love it there. Beautiful setting. Food and service both great. Second visit in three weeks :)
Such a beautiful restaurant! Food was very good, ordered the ribs, filet medallions and pork chops. Will recommend.
Our server Josh was phenomenal, A+ material. Very knowledgeable and straightforward with info, accommodating with suggestions and request. Would definitely make a second trip back
We love Ivy, and have been there many times, and for special occasions. We went to celebrate Valentine's, and thru Open Table I had asked for a seat by fireplace. Unfortunately, we were placed in the back room off the patio by fireplaces in that room. Not my favorite area in the restaurant, which is really beautiful. Its usually cold in there which it was, and not as pretty as the main room. Our waiter was wonderful and that made up for it. I was a little disappointed by a few other unexpected things I hadn't experienced dining there previously. Our little centerpiece was on the window sill next to our table, but not on it like the other tables in this room. There was not much on the menu I could pick from being it a lent Friday, and I'm not suppose to eat meat. There were fish entrees, but nothing I cared for and most too spicy for me. I was going to have macaroni, but that had ingredients in it I couldn't eat. So I ended up with fillet and shrimp which I asked be done medium. It was way undercooked and both the shrimp and fillet only lukewarm. I had to send it back, and the fillet came back better, but the shrimp was still luke warm with a sauce now poured on it, lol. Don't get me wrong it was still good, but I prefer my hot food cooked, and hot. Dessert and coffee were great. The owner is wonderful, and was in the back room, but didn't do his usual stop at our table, which was also a bit disappointing but I realize it was weekend after Valentine's Day so he was busy. Anyway, all is good, we will return I was just surprised not the usual excellence overall.
Celebrating Valentine’s Day
Good food and service. Beautiful building. The salmon was very good. And the potatoes are amazing. Also enjoyed the Caesar salad.
Very good service, as well.
Went for valentine’s day:
We had a 7:30 reservation and arrived at 7:15. The staff let us sit at the bar until i approached them.
- Bar drink are fair ... not so good
- food is fair
- service poor
- over priced
I suggest avoiding this place, i will never go back.
Very happy with this restaurant. Food and ambience were amazing and so was the service.
Wonderful! Wonderful! Food & Atmosphere!
Violinist & gutarist went table to table asking for requests of each couple there celebrating Valentine’s Day. Beautiful ❤️
We have eaten here before and generally enjoy it, but the food was off this time. We both ordered steaks, and they were sub-par. The brie appetizer was good, and the turtle brownie was phenomenal. Our server was great.
Really slow service this time. I realize it is V Day, but most of the restaurant had cleared out and we wer still waiting for our food.
Terrific as always--this is our go-to place for anytime we wish to go somewhere special. We love it. Deedee was a terrific waitress.
ivy is a gem in the western suburbs. Such a beautiful venue with beyond delicious food and a waitstaff who know how to do the job to perfection. This has become our new "go-to" place for any occasion, be it casual or special. I've been spreading the word to friends and family with plans to return there soon myself.
We always have a great meal and a nice experience at Ivy.....lunch or dinner. A little on the pricey side but still one of my favorite local restaurants.
We always enjoy the ambiance of IVY. The setting is always great. Overall the service was very good and our waiter was attentive. We did have to send one of the meals back as the steak was ordered medium rare and it arrived well done. Our server agreed and immediately sent it back. It was unfortunate that one of our guests had to wait 15 minutes for the new steak to arrive. It put a little damper on the overall evening. If something like that occurs at other higher end restaurants, some action is taken to rectify this. Nothing was offered and we did not ask. None the less, I would go back but was slightly disappointed with this latest visit.
Ivy is one of our favorite spots for dinner. Service and food is always good. It's rather noisy and a conversation is difficult at times.
The food is great. We always love coming to IVY. It has become one of our go-to restaurants.
Great Food, Great Service and owner Dick was so helpful for my wife's special 50th birthday dinner.
The food-as always-was exceptional: delicious, beautifully presented, and every bite fantastic. The service is prompt, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance is lovely. From the balcony you can peek into the well-organized and spotless kitchen. One of my favorite restaurants anytime, anyplace (and I am quite picky, having worked my way through college in restaurants.)
Went to Ivy for a special night, everything was very nice with the exception of the table we were seated at. Upstairs around the corner from bathrooms is a poor seating choice, I would eliminate that table altogether.
This place is fantastic. The owner walks around to make sure things are done properly. The wait staff is attentive. The walleye is unbelievable as well as the salads. The wines are pricey but good. There is a bar area or great seating in the main hall. The place is very unique inside. Try it and you will like it.
The ambiance is definitely the best part of the dining experience at Ivy. The prices are not bad, when compared to other high-end restaurants and steak houses. Unfortunately, the food really didn't WOW me. The steak and shrimp were pretty mediocre. The cut was good on the steak, but the flavors were really nothing special. The best part of my meal was the Marlborough Sav Blanc wine.
Potatoes and vegetables on one meal were cold and had to be replaced. Otherwise, everything was fine
Always reliable and good here at the Ivy in Wheaton IL. Right mix between homely and formal. Good wine list, daily specials, “close “ but not stuffy service. Still worthy of a regular revisit.
The fish was excellent and the waitress was very friendly , but not overly. We were in a separate room and it was so nice and quiet that you could have a conversation without having to talk loudly.
I've been to Ivy many times, this past Friday's dinner was a disappointment. My party of 4 was placed upstairs at the railing, enduring all the noise that rises from the lower level and a constant stream of people walking by our table on their way to and from the washroom. The two orders of steaks that were to be grilled medium were far closer to rare. All the entrees were only warm when served, after a very long wait. We had two servers, which caused confusion. Obviously, the crowd was too much for the owner and staff to handle, negatively affecting the more typical quality.
Lovely setting. The banquettes offer quiet dining. Food and service were excellent.
The food selection was great and our selections were outstanding. The waitress was very positive and friendly while being respectful in how much she would come to check on us. The owner came over and we had a great conversation. Great experience!
Excellent lunch menu. Food was well prepared and service was extrrmely pleasant and attentive.
Another great meal!
