Glad I was able to go this past Sunday before restaurants were closed! Great setting with beautiful view; awesome food and great service.

I have been coming to Ivar's Salmon House myself since 1981, through all the changes of management and menu. It's still special. BTW, were there some of the 'classic' photographs missing from some of the walls?

Love Ivars Salmon House, always delicious foods and drinks there. The patio on the lake is really fun when the weather is warm.

Ivar's Salmon House is my favorite "local" Seattle restaurant, whether for happy hour in the bar or a full dinner, as was the case this recent evening. Our Server was the absolute best and all 3 meals were delicious!

Great experience. View, food, service and location with plenty of free parking.
A Northwest Seafood Gem. Highly recommend.

I go here regularly when I want to sit and talk while enjoying a view of Seattle. The food was great, the waiter was attentive but not intrusive. A great place for lunch on a sunny day particularly if you get there a bit early and snag a window table.

Wish they still served black cod. Otherwise the salmon sampler was amazing!

Perfect place for our low and no carb lifestyle! Ordered the surf and turf and couldn't be happier! If you eat a low or no-carb life Ivar's Salmon House has several options. Everyone at the table eats differently and everyone was very happy!

Ivars is a true "NW" experience. We took family from out of town there and was seated by a window at our request. The view was wonderful, but more importantly, the service was terrific. Our server was attentive and stopped by just enough to not be intrusive.
The quality of the food was very good. The only issue was, we felt, that some of the food choices were a bit overpriced.
Overall, a great experience, I would recommend to anyone.

We wanted something "authentic" to Seattle on our last dinner in town. We couldn't have picked a better place -- beautiful setting, fun ambiance, and good food.

I flew in today from California to visit my parents and to take them out to one of their favorite restaurants for dinner. Marcus was an attentive server who made helpful recommendations based on my parents and my varied food preferences. The seafood was beautifully presented and delicious. I also appreciated our server’s helpfulness taking family snapshots of all of us together (with me being able to be in the picture) on my iPhone to send to relatives and for showing me how to take the best photos of the Seattle skyline’s night lights reflecting onto Lake Union. The Pacific Northwest Native American carvings, artwork, and ambience, incredible harbor and shoreline views, delicious menu, and excellent service combined to make our evening together at Ivar’s Salmon House truly special.

This was my first visit to Ivars Salmon House. I have dined numerous times at Ivars on Alaskan Way with great satisfaction. The experience at the Salmon House was overall disappointing. I ordered blackened whitefish which was excellent. My companion ordered the filet mignon. The cut was not filet mignon nor did the sides resemble the description in the menu. The waiter was dismissive when we questioned the discrepancy. As we were attempting to enjoy ourselves, we decided to let it go. When I received the bill for a very mediocre steak with mashed potatoes and steamed carrots at the rate of $55 for the dish, I was shocked. I will support Ivars flagship restaurant. This one has poor value and poor service. Too many great options in Seattle to return here.

Ivar's Salmon house has a nice menu with a good wine selection. However, the bell and wait staff while friendly were not focused on the basics. On arrival, there was a 1/2 sour dough roll, buttered, face down on the carpet adjacent to the table in plain view.....the hostess who seated us, the bell person who filled our water glasses, our server, and presumably every other staff member who came within 10 feet of the table choose to ignore this large food item dropped by someone earlier in the evening. Leaves one wondering what else isn't getting attention that ought? None the less, despite slow service, the meal was tasty and the view from our window seating was pleasant.

I had the Salmon sampler plate. Very tasty mix of Northwest Salmons.

Great waterfront view of Lake Union and downtown Seattle.

I love this place for the views and restaurant interior but the food, sadly, is secondary. Not a reason not to eat there, but there is better food elsewhere.

I have been going to all 3 of Ivar's flagship locations for over 30 years. The Salmon House used to be my go-to for out of town guests due to the view and availability of parking - both of which are still great. However, I was so disappointed in the food this time. The options were more limited than the other two locations, and the food itself was unimpressive in both taste and presentation. This location also needs an update; it is starting to look a bit worn and slightly seedy, even though I hope they never change the theme or artifacts. All it really needs is a refresh on the carpet and woodwork, and maybe a more experienced chef or two. Service was fantastic, however.
