Ivar's Mukilteo Landing Ratings and Reviews
I care responded with a confirmation of my reservation. I also received day of confirmation/reminder email. The server was pleasant and attentive. The Valentine dessert had beautiful presentation and was delicious. We had a great window view if Sound and ferry. We had a terrific Valentine date.
We went to Ivar’s to celebrate Valentine’s Day. The food was great and very well flavored without being too strong. And we got a window seat overlooking the water just as we requested in the comment section of our reservation. After you place your order they bring you warm sourdough rolls with butter complimentary. We ordered a combination cocktail appetizer that has pink bay shrimp, 4 prawns and crab with cocktail sauce and avocado slices. It also comes with horseradish on top but we ordered it without. For our dinner I ordered the 6 oz sirloin surf and turf with sockeye salmon and my boyfriend ordered the same surf and turf with prawns. Both were very good and the steak was cooked just as we ordered it. A very good experience and our waitress came around to check on us often and the wait wasn’t too long considering it being packed for the holiday.
I am a regular Ivar’s patron, and tonight was a Valentine’s Day dinner. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I had the paella special and my wife had the Mukilteo Seafood Sauté. There is so much sauté that it could feed two. The paella was amazing. I hope it shows up on the regular menu.
Good scenery right on the water at the ferry dock. Their menu isn't huge, but local seafood dishes are well prepared and ambiance is very nice inside the restaurant. They have a seafood bar outside that serves, in my estimation, the best fish n chips around , and I order every time I am waiting in the ferry line. Clam chowder is always a winner here too.
The restaurant inside is more upscale and worth the price. Ample serving sizes, nice wine and cocktails and expertly prepared dishes.
Stopped in for dinner on a rainy Washington day. We sat by a window which overlooked Possession Sound. The view was spectacular and peaceful. I ordered the sirloin steak which was very tender and seasoned perfectly. My wife had the Caesar salad with crab which was very tasty and fresh. Also, the seafood gumbo and Dungeness crab dip were delectable. Besides the food, our waitress Laura was AWESOME. We didn't go without and she took great care of us. She had a great personality and always had a smile. She also took good care of our son. We had a great dining experience for our first time dining here. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended and make sure you ask for Laura.
Since I've lived on Whidbey Island since 1975, Ivar's has been our "go to" restaurant when we miss a late night ferry. Fun to go in the bar and have a glass of wine/beer or cocktail, as you can see the boat arriving at the adjacent ferry dock. I also meet friends from "the other side" there for lunch, as I can walk on the ferry, no car needed. They also have an outdoor service counter where you can order their famous fish 'n chips, chowder, ice cream and beverages. Prior to it morphing into Ivar's, it was Taylor's Landing, which we also frequented.
Birthday celebration. Atmosphere was great. Our table was amazing. The server was excellent. The only problem we had was the food. My husband had the northwest seafood Cobb salad and the seafood bisque. I loved the bisque, but he said there wasn't enough seafood, and the salad was cheap tasting. Shrimp from a can, extremely salty scallops. Didn't finish it. The crab crusted halibut was a good portion but was dry and bland. And a couple of items off the New Orleans menu. The shrimp andouille jambalaya only had one piece of andouille. Very disappointed because that's why he ordered it. We expecting to pay more, and we did. But the food was very disapointing😣
My wife and I took my mother here to escape the confines of assisted living. A surf and turf incorporating scallops was excellent. Blackened cod was well-presented and very flavorful. My wife is vegan and they prepare a dish that worked well (one of the chefs is vegan). So it worked for all.
Very busy when we got there for our reservation at six, but calmed down as the night went on. Food was very good and the service was awesome. As we weren't supposed to catch a movie until nine, we had a couple drinks after dinner and weren't rushed out to free up the table.
Nice table for 8 with Awesome View! Our waiter was helpful and attentive!! My wild halibut dinner was scrumptious. And, the other diners in my party enjoyed their meals. We enjoyed a leisurely dinner with no rush to leave our table. Highly recommend Ivar’s Mukilteo Landing for special occasions.
Created reservation on OpenTable with request for window seat so our 94yr old birthday guests could enjoy the view, food AND company. The staff was MARVELOUS. We were greeted with a "Happy Birthday" and warm conversation, followed with a personal card and concern that our entire party was satisfied.
I've already recommended spot to others (and I will be coming back soon!)
We enjoy the location and food. Somewhat alarmed at changes in personnel assignments (bussers?) and lack of respect for seniority of staff. Paring down customer service seems counter productive for attracting new customers. We will continue to eat at Ivars as long as the experience remains as it has been.
