We ate here while on vacation. Ivar’s is iconic in the area. The offerings were varied and the food yummy. Not much if you don’t want fish or seafood. Basic salad is the only vegetarian option. The time between starters and main dish was a bit long for our family. We weren’t having drinks so it stretched out.
Was craving the taste of razor clams and that craving was completely satisfied, as they were offered on the menu, and cooked to perfection... yum!
Great service and food. The view is incredible and watching the ferry arrival and departure is an added bonus.
The food here is always so delicious! The salmon was so good! The view is completely amazing!!! Right on the water in Mukilteo and we could see people fishing on the pier and the ferry from our table! Great service too!
It was all good. My only issues are that it seemed others were getting in ahead of us even though I had made a reservation well in advance, and I also asked for a seat by the window since it was a birthday dinner but didn't get one. Oh well.
Otherwise very nice.
Service was pretty slow. Food was solid. View was amazing.
went to Ivar's to celebrate a birthday. we asked for a window table and were seated at one. had very excellent service & food and since it was my birthday we got a slice of cake with a candle that was lit at the table. all in all a very awesome experience.
Great food, great view. Happy Birthday to me. We will be back.
Beautiful view- food good- switched waiters- first was pleasant- second kept trying to take our plates over and over before we were finished. Other than that everything ok.
Great food, good wine, friendly staff, and a beautiful view!! We came here to celebrate our anniversary. Ivar's never disappoints.
Ivan's is always a treat. Guests from elsewhere always get taken for dinner there. Their salmon preparations are always quite good.
We were a party of 10 and our service was very good. Everything was set up and waiting for us when we arrived for our reservation. The restaurant has a great view of the ferry loading/unloading, and we all enjoyed our entrees. Loved the Classic Mukilteo Seafood Saute!
The staff and food were outstanding. They all went out of their way to be sure we enjoyed ourselves.
The food is exquisite and service is unmatched. A great time with fabulous food and service.
We were a party of eight, including two grade-school-age children, celebrating a wedding anniversary. We were seated in the middle of the room, so that everyone had a decent view of the water and the ferries arriving and departing. Our server, who was friendly and voluble almost to the point of being intrusive, offered lots of opinions about the various dishes on the menu. I chose the Mukilteo Seafood Saute, a medley of clams, shrimp, and fish in a buttery red sauce, rich and delicious. The food came in a reasonable amount of time, and everyone at our table was satisfied with their dish, including the kids. Drinks were refreshed regularly, and the pace of the meal was appropriate to the occasion (we were at the table about two hours). The cost of the meal was about $50 per person, excluding alcoholic beverages. Everything seemed good value for money, except the $11 strawberry shortcake, which our server raved about. It cost $11 and was short on strawberries. All in all, it was a pleasant, tasty dinner with an attentive server, and a terrific view capped by a beautiful sunset.
Have been here a few times over the years. It's consistent. Out of town guests like it too. Good food selection. Tastes are very good. My classic seafood saute was delicious and a nice combo of things I like. All at table were happy with their meals. Very minor dessert order issue cheerfully fixed on the spot and charge reversed. Our special occasion went well. Would definitely return. Good job, Ivars!
Parents 69th anniversary,
they traveled from Maple Valley
they love Ivars @ Mukilteo!
Smoked Salmon Chowder was excellent! Good service and pleasant atmosphere.
Ivar's went out of there way to make sure we had everything. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was great. We has our 30th anniversary and was treated like royalty. Awesome place to go.
Awesome food and awesome service.
A slight mistake in our order was handled professionally by our waiter.
Was my wifes birthday. I had ask for a window seat and was lucky to get one. the staff was great and the for came at a nice pace. We enjoyed watching the water while we dinned. Ivars help make my wife birthday fun.
Always enjoy coming here, food is excellent and the people are really friendly.
Never disappointed...keep up the good work. Thank you.
Food is great and staff goes out of their way to make your experience great.
It was on 1st Sunday Summer 2018. Sunny blue sky, gorgeous water front view next to ferry landing, good foods, excellent service and additional bonus....a seal swam nearby. Overall was a wonderful lunch.
We stumbled upon this place a couple of years ago, and it has become our go-to for special occasions. We LOVE it here.
Ivar's Mukilteo Landing was definitely a 4 to 5 stars on 2 previous visits. This review is based on our most recent reservation on a Sunday evening. The food preparation and presentation was definitely did not reflect the cost of the meal. My wife's halibut was served with a large mound of dry white rice. Hmmm... seemed to me the kitchen may have run out of ingredients. The halibut was a bit overcooked. I had high expectations for my paella which did have large assortment of seafood but the dish was more like a seafood medley; not paella. The rice was almost non-existent (probably was used for the mound on my wife's plate) and the dish had not one hint of saffron and the broth was missing flavor. So, one miss out of three evening meals. Perhaps the variables for a good meal were stacked against us: the kitchen was slammed by large groups and we arrived as most of the diners were leaving on a Sunday evening. But, the service and wait staff are great (even though a patron had to ask a rather loud, drunk, and obnoxious diner to please "tone it down"). Will we return? Don't know. Perhaps just order fish and chips outside.
We love Ivar's Mukilteo. Every time I go, I order something different, and I've never been disappointed. I was particularly impressed by our server this time who recommended a fantastic bottle of wine to pair with our meal.
Great location on the water. If your spouse works in Seattle, have them take a train, only 4 blocks away. Free parking for Ivars. Make reservations on the website, and ask for a window seat if available. Great datenight for the two of us.
Best halibut we have ever had!!! Service was wonderful!!! Favorite restaurant!
2 suggestions: change brunch menu between Mother’s Day and Fathers Day and plain French toast on the kids menu at brunch.
great food ,great service ,wonderful view and best location !
Ivar’s was a delightful dining experience! The food was delicious, the service impeccable, and the scenic beauty breathtaking.
Mukilteo Landing is consistently a great place to dine. Good menu, good service and a view which can't be beat.
Clam chowder was excellent. Salmon was over cooked and dry.
My wife's razor clams were delicious as were my daughter's steamed clams. The $35 halibut dish that I had, however, was a big disappointment. I couldn't taste any crab and the overall meal was very bland and not flavorful. My wife prepares better tasting halibut at home than what I was served. For a $35 dish, highly recommended by the waitress, it was way over priced!
Ivar's in Mukilteo is my favorite place to eat in this area!
I have been to this restaurant four times now over the period of a year. Three times with my wife and once with my daughter. It's pricey; I never get out of there with less than $150 spent. But the halibut and salmon are very good, and worth the price as long as done in moderation! I do not like shellfish at all, so the fish is the only thing I have sampled.
This visit was a late celebration of my wife's birthday. We arrived just barely on time because it's hard to find parking (hint: use the paid parking at the light house park just southwest of Ivar's). They said they were running late and to expect a wait of 15 minutes. I don't think it ended up being more than 2 minutes. The view is right on the water with the Mukilteo/Clinton ferry coming and going the whole time. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable (though our waiter admitted he knew nothing about single malt Scotches). We will go there again - most likely when my daughter and her beau visit - so that should be a $300 dinner then!
Ivars isn't exceptional but they typically have nice food and service. We went on an off day as they were 30 minutes behind on all reservations and the food was slow to come out when we were finally seated.
We had a large group here to end our memorial celebration of our grandparents' lives. They were great to us, put us in one part of the dining room so we could be together and the small kids didn't drive the rest of the diners crazy. Super helpful and nice and the food is always good. Thanks Ivars, for the wonderful afternoon! They even served the cake we brought along.
