Ivar's Mukilteo Landing Ratings and Reviews
Excellent experience; being on the waterfront is a plus. The food is fanominal! It is a bit pricey... but as I mentioned, THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT. Wait staff is polite and mellow (not trying to just push heads in and out). I would recommend a reservation; as a point of reference, I made a 7 person reservation on the same day as the event, during December.
I was there for my birthday for lunch. The menu was so disappointing since I was there last. They served a vegetable side dish that I thought had uncooked potatoes. It turned out that it was uncooked root vegetables. The lingcod was the smallest portion that I have ever seen there.
Luckily, I had a birthday coupon and didn't have to pay. The best part was their chocolate mousse desert, but they are a seafood restaurant.
Oh well, next time its Anthony's Homeport.
Right at the Mukilteo landing, where you can watch ferries (to Whidbey Island) come and go, this commodious restaurant takes full advantage of the view and also of the availability of local ingredients: our "seafood club" salads were full of delicious seafood, including smoked scallops ... mmmm. Attentive service, comfortable seating, and great food make this a popular spot to meet up and dine.
Everything was great! The service was excellent and very attentive. The food was very good, although the rice had a little spice added. We enjoyed the window seat, watching the ferries come and go on their schedule. We arrived a little early, but we were seated shortly afterwards. All in all, we had an enjoyable time and meal.
We went with another couple for the Veteran's Day special and had a wonderful dinner. The food, the company, our waitress and the restaurant were just great. We really appreciate Ivar's for recognizing veterans on their special day with a free entree. We've had many happy times at this location over the last thirty years and we will be back soon.
Ivar's offered all veterans or serving military a free dinner last Saturday night. How wonderful! We went (my husband is a 20-year veteran of the USAF) and saw many families celebrating their family's service. The veteran was offered a good selection of 5-6 entrees, one of which was our favorite (Macademia crusted ling cod). The best we've ever had...
The waitstaff really made the military folks feel very special. We talked to an old vverteran from WWII who said he was in the Army infantry in Germany! I had to give him a hug and kiss on the cheek.
Besides the wonderful food, service and ambiance, the feeling that night was beyond wonderful!
Visited for Veteran’s Day meal. Ivar’s does it up right to honor our veterans. Server offered a sincere thank you to our 2 veterans. The menu selections for the free veterans meal were wonderful. No skimping on portions and the entrees were cooked to perfection. Thank you to Ivar’s for honoring our veterans in this way.
Loved the beautiful view of the water and ferry! The Dungeness Bisque soup was absolutley delicious and Hazelnut Chocolate Mousse was delicious as well. Caesar Salad was a bit bland and the half sandwich that we ardered was too tiny - it was smaller than a 2 inch by 2 inch square. Yikes! Server didn't bring out all the soups together as our group requested or refill our beverages. The water, scenery and fireplace made for a beautiful ambiance for our family gathering and we had a lovely time.
The food was pretty good, not outstanding, but definately better than another similar restaurant that's nearby. Service was okay, not doting, missed an empty wine glass. Menu is expensive so we go for special occasions only. We don't care for their desserts. Wine menu is good.
The meal, as usual, was perfectly 'Ivar's' the fish and chips, oh my!
My particular special occasion was I had just gotten married on the walkway around the Silver Cloud Inn next door.
Not only were your staff attention to detail appreciated, the special at the end of the meal (carrot cake) was such a surprise nice touch that I will certainly be back for every special occasion. I loved the food, I loved the staff, I loved the whole evening at Ivar's after I married the man I love.
We made our reservation for 11:30 on a Sunday morning, hoping for a reasonably relaxing birthday visit with a friend. The sound system was playing loud, energetic and irritating jazz that made it hard to visit. We asked the waiter if the sound could be turned lower and he said, "Of course," but did nothing. Ivars has been a birthday tradition for years, but we'll probably try somewhere else next time.
We've been going to Ivars for some time now and have always ordered the Prime Rib. The quality of both dishes of Prime Rib were poor. The cheesecake desert flavor and texture was disappointing as well. As always the service and view of the water was very pleasing. It will be awhile before we go back though in hopes they improve their meat sourcing.
There were six of us, celebrating 4 birthdays. I heard NO complaints regarding any one's meal. We had a couple of special requests due to dietary restrictions. The chef had not problems with these and worked with us. My order was one of the 'special' orders. My meal was PERFECT!
When we finished our meal our waiter brought out 4 birthday desserts, each with a lit candle.
Delicious food, and a wonderful view. Requested a table with water view, since I was entertaining out of town guests. Table for 8 was ready when we arrived, and my guests LOVED the close view of the ferry dock. Great place to walk around after the meal, too. I will definitely return here!
While the others in our party enjoyed their meals, my husband's fish and chips were a disappointment. As a re-located Brit, he was looking forward to the fish and chips he had eaten at Ivar's previously. When he was served, the pieces of fish were covered in panko bread crumbs and he was not aware that he had a choice of those or the traditional batter-dipped fish. These were more like fish sticks that you find in the freezer compartment of a grocery store. But as a Brit, he did not mention this until he had finished his lunch!:)
I treated my mother to dinner for her 94th birthday on Oct. 3rd. I mentioned that it was for my mother’s birthday in the comments when I made the reservation and requested a window seat. We were so happy to be shown to a nice window seat when we arrived and my mother was happily surprised to find a birthday card waiting for her at her place.
We both enjoyed our dinners. Our server was a lovely lady named Adrienne and she was very friendly any attentive. We didn’t want for anything. We did ask her recommendation for wines and were glad that we followed her suggestions.
Thank you Ivars for a lovely evening.
