Ivar’s Acres of Clams unveiled a whale of a transformation recently. The down-to-the-studs remodel includes expanded indoor dining space, a new outdoor patio, expanded state-of-the-art kitchen and a completely refreshed interior that still pays homage to its iconic roots.

Original features of the Pier including exposed fir beams and a refurbished Galbraith-Bacon & Co sign from the original tenant were restored. Enjoy expansive views of the Puget Sound, Washington State ferries and fireboats from historic Fire Station #3. If you prefer al fresco dining, enjoy a stunning, new outdoor patio. Bask in the open-air breeze while taking in the sights and sounds of Elliott Bay.

Our chefs create award-winning preparations to reflect the season’s bounty, yet still showcase Ivar Haglund’s world famous original recipes. Dine on wild Alaskan salmon, deep-water halibut, Alaskan King Crab, Dungeness Crab, jumbo prawns, manila clams, weathervane scallops just to name a few.

This was our first stop upon arriving in Seattle and we were not disappointed! We tried several things off the menu and everything was delicious!! We will be back before we leave for sure.

My son suggested this restaurant based on his previous dining experience there. He described the Halibut fish and chips and the best he's ever had and said we all needed to go there to try them. My daughters birthday dinner was a good excuse to give it a try. He was correct, the Halibut was excellent. A little on the expensive side for fish and chips, however a very good meal.

The atmosphere and ambiance were wonderful. Our waiter, Brad, was congenial, knowledgeable, and FUN! The entire experience was outstanding. Each of the four of us tried a different entree; and, all of the meals were prepared to perfection!

This excellent location right on the waterfront at the ferry and water taxi terminals has fairly decent (metered) parking outside and parking lots across the way. The ambiance feels authentic for a big seafood restaurant. Service is professional and attentive enough. Our waiter addressed all requests positively and knowledgeably. The salmon dish, fresh oysters and steamed clams that we ordered satisfied all the seafood wishes we had for this birthday dinner.

Two friends and I went for New Years Eve dinner. It was wonderful. Our table was ready at the time of the reservation, no additional waiting. We had requested a window seat through Open Table and got one. Our server, Bradford, was outstanding! Friendly but not overbearing. Helpful with the suggestions. Never flustered. The one disappointing feature was there was no entree with dungeness crab, only king crab. Must have been the season or availability. I had the bacon wrapped halibut and it was an excellent substitute though. Great dinner.

Cold food..... bad service. My mom wanted to go here because she went forty years ago and liked it. We had a party of eight. Our chowder was cold. So was the halibut. My sister and I shared an acre of clams that tasted like a can of broth was poured over clams and served just warm. No flavor. So disappointing as this placed was $325 before drinks. None of us enjoyed the meal and our waiter was snotty and inconvenienced. Would never return.

Been coming to the restaurant for years, first time disappointed. The font for Blue Friday and only in the bar should be the same size; disappointed to learn not in the restaurant. I ordered fish, no French fries, side of slaw and tartar sauce. Obviously the waitress did not "hear" my order because it came as the usual fish & chips. The chips were wasted, only had a small container of slaw. Because we were with another couple I did not send the meal back; however, I let her know that the order was not what I asked for. I also had to remind her twice that we had ordered wine. It appears that unless I text or tweet my order, the young set does not listen or take note of your order verbally.
