The food was good, was hoping the soughdough would be warm, but it was cold, i'm not sure if thats a normal thing there, the strawberry lemonade was delicious. I ordered tbe clam chowder and fish n chips, chowder was amazing i love it, the fish n chips were good i was so full on the fish i ate only maybe 3 fries i was so full.
We had to fly in to Seattle for a funeral, my Mom and three sisters. Our last night we wanted seafood, Ivar's was amazing! From start to finish everything was perfection! The chowder sample was delicious, salmon chowder my favorite. I also had the cioppino, packed with a ton of perfectly prepared seafood: salmon, mussels, clams, shrimp, crab, and a white fish.
My Mom and sisters had surf and turf, fish and chips, a steak with grilled shrimp, and the crab cakes. Everyone loved loved their meal.
Jessica (maybe Jess?), our server, was one of the best servers we have had in along time. She was personable, fun, attentive, and we never wanted for anything!
If we were local, this would be a regular spot. If we get to Seattle again, we will definitely go back.
Ivar's Acres of Clams is a hidden gem right on the waterfront. The remodel was really well done. I've got to come back, and come here more often!
Last minute reservation, but folks were very accommodating. Food was delicious. Hostess was gorgeous. Waitress was very friendly. I would go back.
Good service. Good food. Beautiful view
Fish here can't be beat. We came for the Mardi Gras menu. I ended up ordering from the Mardi Gras menu, spouse from "regular" menu. My halibut was good, but his Seafood Trio much better. Service just okay this time. But with a nice window seat i requested when I booked, where we watched the sunset - ahh, service did not matter too much.
Really nice place and good food
Food was over-cooked. Server was good.
Great seafood, the salmon chowder was amazing! If you’re looking to dine late, look elsewhere because they close at 9p during the week. Otherwise, a solid choice for local seafood!
The food was very good; I had the fish and chips and my wife had the crab cakes....both well worth ordering. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. We certainly would visit this restaurant on our next trip to Seattle.
John was an excellent server, was there for any and all of our requests. I was a bit disappointed with the grilled salmon. Quite dry, even after applying tabs of butter to help soften and moisten it. Salmon is to WA as Lobster is to Maine. Its got to be done right
The service was great and the food was delicious! The views are fun to watch the boats coming in and out and they have a well rounded menu!
My family and I were celebrating my 70th birthday. Excellent meal, attentive service. Great time had by all.
Great hospitality, food, view and atmosphere! The hostess told me that they remodeled within the last couple years. It looks great!
I was celebrating my birthday a tad early. Great meal, great service, great service.
We were a little late and they still held our reservation for us. They were very Accommodating they got us a window seat and the service was awesome.
It use to be really good; not so after the remodel. help is not useful.
The old Ivars experience is gone...too bad
Food very average
This was our first stop upon arriving in Seattle and we were not disappointed! We tried several things off the menu and everything was delicious!! We will be back before we leave for sure.
I had your steak
..it was terrible.
Your clam chowder rocks
My son suggested this restaurant based on his previous dining experience there. He described the Halibut fish and chips and the best he's ever had and said we all needed to go there to try them. My daughters birthday dinner was a good excuse to give it a try. He was correct, the Halibut was excellent. A little on the expensive side for fish and chips, however a very good meal.
The atmosphere and ambiance were wonderful. Our waiter, Brad, was congenial, knowledgeable, and FUN! The entire experience was outstanding. Each of the four of us tried a different entree; and, all of the meals were prepared to perfection!
This excellent location right on the waterfront at the ferry and water taxi terminals has fairly decent (metered) parking outside and parking lots across the way. The ambiance feels authentic for a big seafood restaurant. Service is professional and attentive enough. Our waiter addressed all requests positively and knowledgeably. The salmon dish, fresh oysters and steamed clams that we ordered satisfied all the seafood wishes we had for this birthday dinner.
Two friends and I went for New Years Eve dinner. It was wonderful. Our table was ready at the time of the reservation, no additional waiting. We had requested a window seat through Open Table and got one. Our server, Bradford, was outstanding! Friendly but not overbearing. Helpful with the suggestions. Never flustered. The one disappointing feature was there was no entree with dungeness crab, only king crab. Must have been the season or availability. I had the bacon wrapped halibut and it was an excellent substitute though. Great dinner.
Always a favorite spot for dinner when we are in Seattle. Beautiful view of the Bay. Thank you for making New Years Eve special!
Most delicious crab legs & clam chowder!!!!
Cold food..... bad service. My mom wanted to go here because she went forty years ago and liked it. We had a party of eight. Our chowder was cold. So was the halibut. My sister and I shared an acre of clams that tasted like a can of broth was poured over clams and served just warm. No flavor. So disappointing as this placed was $325 before drinks. None of us enjoyed the meal and our waiter was snotty and inconvenienced. Would never return.
Been coming to the restaurant for years, first time disappointed. The font for Blue Friday and only in the bar should be the same size; disappointed to learn not in the restaurant. I ordered fish, no French fries, side of slaw and tartar sauce. Obviously the waitress did not "hear" my order because it came as the usual fish & chips. The chips were wasted, only had a small container of slaw. Because we were with another couple I did not send the meal back; however, I let her know that the order was not what I asked for. I also had to remind her twice that we had ordered wine. It appears that unless I text or tweet my order, the young set does not listen or take note of your order verbally.
great food and atmosphere. Cozy on a winter night. Great Christmas Eve location. Well suited for large groups.all the food arrived when it should
My family was looking for a pleasant Christmas Eve lunch during our visit to Seattle. Ivar's was right on the water, so we watched the ferries board. Picturesque. Food was very tasty, but not over the top amazing. It was a lovely respite from a cold day. Our waitress was cheerful and helpful. Her suggestions were excellent and improved our food choices!
Well prepared meal. Very good service. Great location and open late.
