First time visiting from CT and expected the food to be better than what was served especially for the pricing. Very disappointed!
We got to sit next to the window...great view...food was great...drinks were great...waiter nice friendly n fast
If you are looking for the quintessential Seattle seafood experience, go to Ivar's Acres of Clams. You can get a regular affordable seafood dinner, or you can get a really fancy, expensive gourmet seafood dinner. Kid's menu is also great and affordable. This is no tourist trap. Real deal.
Awesome spot for dinner. Took my fam here while visiting the city. Just remember to get there early if you are looking for parking. Best spot is across the street for $10 on evenings. Try and get a spot by the windows... cool to see the ferries coming in and out while you eat.
Great server, even better views of the water! 10/10
Ray was great!!! He delivered the drinks and food very well. And he was very cordial and responsive to our little extra ask. Lunch was super!
Solid location and outdoor seating is really nice - get the Trio dish and clam chowder! Was not a fan of the Fish & Chips
Sloppy dressed staff. Unattentive waiting. Over cooked calamari and sandy clams. We were celebrating our 20th anniversary and this wasn't the Ivars we have known and loved for years.
Huge place. Nice view. Delicious beet salad. Almost no options for vegetarians.
The server was not good. He was not made for the service industry. We had a spill at the table and we cleaned it up ourselves. The waiter did not offer another drink until we were done with our meal. They were short staffed so they could not fill all the tables and yet they stuffed a party right next to us. I miss the covid skipping tables and dislike the covid short menu. Overall I would not recommend this restaurant.
The chowder was good. Rich and Grammy. The Fish and chips was more like frozen fish sticks.
Sat on the Patio, right above water with beautiful views. Our server was great, food delicious. Fantastic experience and meal
Pretty much Seattle’s version of a Red Lobster. Wish that there was more flavor to the acres of clams OR cooked the wine off of the dish. Clam chowder was on point, so was the smoked salmon salad! Overall, a good place to check off a Seattle restaurant.
Convenient easy to find spot on the water to meet out of town visitors.
Limited menu likely because of difficulty of finding employees and food shortages . Tipped our waiter 20% because they need it although terrible service.
Food was okay but one doesn't visit Ivar's for the food. Very good drinks and wine.
Thanks for just being open.
Outdoor deck for lunch was perfect. Highly recommend if you can get a sunny day.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Ivar's. Everything was wonderful.
We had a group of 34 people and were told it was so busy they could not split the checks into couples because it would take one hour to do so. We said we will wait. WELL< it happened we were basically the most people in there. That was a bad vibe.
Service was great - food way overpriced.
BUT I was with fun people so I do not regret.
Had an absolutely wonderful outdoor dining experience! Rob was our server & was very attentive.
Is there a more glorious spot to spend a late summer evening than the patio at Ivar's? Water, sun, ferries, water taxis, fire boat. And the food is so good.
The view and patio are very nice but unfortunately I think it’s otherwise very overpriced for what it is. Limited menu and just not super tasty. I feel like it could be much better! The clams we got were not cooked or seasoned particularly well, and the chowder was fine but not worth the price.
The clams were small. It is supposed to be famous for Clams, but the clam chowder and the actual Clam dish was not that impressive.
Monday evening was not busy. 6 at the table. Food was beautifully presented and very good.
Informed at reservation and also while being seated this was a 57th wedding anniversary but there was no acknowledgment of this.
Service was ragged. Ordered clams and asked for bread for dipping. Clams were wonderful but bread came with dinner….late for dipping clam nectar. Some plates were removed when dinner was complete but two sat until after dessert orders were taken. Had to ask for to go boxes twice.
Ordered decaf coffee with dessert and informed they would have to make a new pot….very large container….would more than one person want decaf? Three decaf, one regular. We said we didn’t mind waiting. We’re served one cup and never offered refills….it was 9:00 and we felt they wanted us out.
I was disappointed in the service but not the food.
It’s in the water… great views… food is SUB-par… for those of you that don’t understand, that means it’s just ok… you’re there for the VIEW!!! Period… I did have a great waiter Mike… he hustled HARD… he did a great job
Great food, wonderful view of Seattle waterfront. Service was efficient and very personable.
We sat on the patio on a beautiful sunny Sunday afternoon with out of town guests and it was just delightful! The view was spectacular, the service was great and the food was delicious. Their clam chowder never disappoints and our server steered us to the halibut fish & chips rather than the cod and he was spot on. The panko breading was crunchy and delicious and the halibut was superb. An enjoyable afternoon!
We loved the food so much! And the view was great too! A great night out!
Food was delicious, ambience was great! We sat outside and it was absolutely lovely as the sun set over the mountains! We had the clam chowder and coconut prawns and were very happy with our choices! Service was okay.
All of the food was great.
The crab dip was especially excellent, and the entrees were really good as well.
Ate outside on the water - views are somewhat blocked due to ferries, but could be great on a sunny day.
On vacation. Enjoyed the view while eating. The salmon was delicious, and we enjoyed the clams appetizer
Great food, amazing view, fair prices. I'd come back any time.
Brought a friend from Ecuador who had never been to seattle. Awesome table in the sun right by the water. Perfect service. Good food (awesome clam chowder, Vader salad was marginal).
Entree came out while we were still eating our appetizers. Drinks came out late too
Everything was rushed and the place was empty
After not going out to eat since last summer, we were looking forward to eating at Iva's, what a disappointment especially for Ivar's. The salmon was Luke warm, over done. A replacement came that was at least hot. It appears dining out will not be on our to do list.
Clam chowder tasted more like bacon than clams. Such a disappointment. Service was good. Nice view.
There are two Ivars, the sit down restaurant and the fast food stand next to the restaurant. A few people has recommended this place so we thought why not (first time in Seattle). The clams were ok but the wine sauce was not cooked down enough. We both ordered the fish and chips and the fish was bland and chewy. It was 21.00 per plate Over all we spent 100.00 for two and it was worth. It’s more a tourist attraction. After we left we checked the prices and the quick version and it was 10 and some change for the exact plate we ordered. The quick version may be worth the try as it seemed better than the actual restaurant.
The meal, the atmosphere & the service were all excellent.
We had a great time entertainiing frinds fron the San Francisco Bay Area.
We had clam chowder at least 5 other times before coming to Ivars. So glad we had the best for last. It was delicious, and the best we had. All the others were good, but Ivars is the best. Our waiter was fantastic and so sweet. I wish I could remember his name. But, he Even gave us cool places to visit. All around excellent! Also, so very glad I made reservations. That place is hopping from the moment they open.
This was my second trip to Ivar’s, the first time being in January 2013. On this visit we’d the Halibut Fish & Chips, Clam Chowder, a salad, and the Steamed Clams. The service was exemplary and the views of Elliot Bay made for the perfect dining experience.
