I like the new 'Acres of Clams.' Certainly a spectacular upgrade from what it used to be. It feels like a more expensive restaurant, yet geared for all. Love the views for sure and our server was on the ball. Oh yeah, the food was great too. I usually advise out-of-towners, when they ask, to go to this Ivar's.
Excellent food, atmosphere, and service!! My daughter was visiting from Alaska ...we just had to bring her here!! She LOVED it!
Sergio was our server and was a breath of fresh air and a true professional.
I won't lie - it's a bit touristy. Plus the food was a bit pricey - but the food was VERY good, the view was absolutely beautiful, and the service was good too.
Delicious seafood reasonably priced and large restaurant with plenty of seating
Great food. Great service! Definitely check it out if you are in Seattle waterfront.
Enjoyed an excellent seafood dinner that was much better than expected than what we perceived to be a tourist spot on the waterfront. We had one moderately priced shrimp and chips plate and one more expensive specialty, both were tasty and had generous portions.
Ivars acres of clams is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is consistently good and the view out onto the harbor is delightful. I love the light airy feel of the place and appreciate that the noise level is low, so it's possible to have a good conversation without shouting. Service is excellent. I take the ferry to Seattle from Bainbridge, so when I am meeting a friend or business colleague on the Seattle side, I recommend Ivars Acres of Clams since it is so handy for me and for my Seattle-side friend.
Delicious meal. Quick service. Clean. Absolutely no complaints
Absolutely the best fish and chips and wine! I don’t think I will ever eat fish and chips anywhere else. Service and atmosphere was great!
We had not been to Ivar's in a very long time but were given a gift card from our son.
On our way to our table we were told that they get very few locals but lots of tourists. That should have been an indication of the quality of our dinner.
We both ordered Halibut which was priced at $37. It ended up being the most tasteless and overcooked fish I have attempted to eat in some time.
Given all of the great restaurant that we have in Seattle this was not one of them.
Extremely poor service, only the clam chowder was good. Dungeness dip was oversalted, fish and chips had over-cooked fish, hence was super dry. Waiter did not visit during the meal, and then rang the wrong receipt with the card at the end
Overall, a terrible experience. Will not there again, and will let others know not to, either.
We were disappointed with service and quality of food. Though service was friendly, there were great lengths of time until we were checked on. It always seemed when we needed our server, she wasn’t anywhere in sight. She gave us our check and took a long time to return. The food did not taste as good as it looked. Location is great but a disappointing experience.
This was my 3rd visit to this location. All previous visits were great! I'm not sure what happened this time. The service was exceedingly slow, and we were all ready to order within 5 minutes of being seated. We were seated at about 1:15, and didn't make it out of the restaurant until just after 3pm! They also tried to tell us that "the Washington Health Code" made it illegal for any outside food or drink to be brought in. I've scoured the code and I sure don't see it. If that is your policy, that's fine, just say that but don't blame some made up law. Not sure I'll return, I may skip it next time in favor of Duke's.
Wonderful service, fast and attentive. The surf and turf was fantastic, hands down best chowder I have ever had. You must get an order of calamari and cheese crab dip. They were a stand out among the business guests. All of my colleagues mentioned something later that it was a great spot for a dinner meal.
I had a dinner with my business partner in nice, warm, and friendly atomosphere with nice view. We all satisfied.
Ate here on NYE with my boyfriend. Our waitress was so kind, I liked her a lot. Food was great, ordered a bit too much but we had an amazing time.
Great place to eat sea food, seemed a bit over priced.
We visit this Ivan’s every time we go to Seattle and are never disappointed.
Good food, a spacious environment, and comfortable setting made it great for a family dinner. Kids and conversation work here.
We went to the Downtown Actrs of Clams location after the Seahks game and to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. We sat in the bar and opted for the happy hour menu. First dish of steamer clams was most disappointing. Smallest butter clams and drowned in butter. I would expect the clams to be one of the signature dishes to be done really well and they were not. The beet salad was good but not great and the smoked scallops dish was not to our liking - though the scallops had good flavor, there are large strips of bacon that may be smoked and didn’t seem cooked. The atmosphere was good and the server was attentive.
Women’s restroom disgusting! Paper overflowing garbage can, paper littered on the floor. Water on countertops. Certainly not the cleanliness standard of a nice local restaurant seen by lots of visitors to Seattle!
Great place, amazing food especially the clam chowder.
My daughter’s birthday
Ivar's Acres of Clams is a Seattle icon. It is particularly nice after a total refurbishment about two years ago. You can always count on good seafood.
The view was beautiful. The interior of the restaurant is very nice, rustic, nautical, and inviting. The food was excellent. I had the halibut, and my wife had the salmon. Both were done to our likings. The beet salad had a nice contrast, the slightly sweet dressing, golden and red beets, and the salad greens. The appetizer was delicious as well, crab, oregon shrimps, and medium sized prawns.
It was a very nice evening overall.
Our ambassador to our food and drink was fantastic! Love Ivar’s!
Disappointed. Oysters not that fresh. Bland food. Halibut is very dry and tasteless. Good ambience but definitely not worth the price.
Had the cold smoked Alaska Weathervane Scallops. We all loved them....... Perfect!!!
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and phenomenal service!!!
We had a fun and memorable dinning experience. Our waiter was courteous and entertaining. The food was good. The ambience was spot on and the window seating was beautiful.
wonderful experience and time spent with wife. will come back again when in Seattle.
I was given the wrong Halibut dinner, but it was delicious. Everything was wonderful.
Great for special occasion, even it it's just a visit to Seattle. Friendly, fast service and good food. Hundred bucks gets you nice seafood for two and two cocktails.
I took my family from Florida to enjoy some PNW Seafood. I requested a view seat and was not disappointed. The food was exceptional as was the food.
This was so disappointing. We had a reservation, but were largely ignored - until we went to the bar to order drinks. Took at least 25 minutes to order. When they brought the food, they brought the appetizers and main courses all at once. No one ever came to check on us, we weren’t able to order more drinks or get more water, and then they overcharged us adding the drinks we bought and paid for st the bar to our check. The food was pretty good - but the overall experience was not.
This place has potential. Great open, welcoming concept. Waitstaff dressed in formal uniforms and seemed like it would be an upscale but not pretentious dining experience. However the food was just ok for the price. We dined at Steelhead Diner the night before and they set the bar high! So in defense of Ivar’s, we had high expectations and were let down. We were disappointed as this was our last night in Seattle.
Fantastic waterfront plate of Crab Legs, yummy roasted to perfection potatoes and Butternut squash—washed down with a Washington State Merlot.
The food was amazing, the waiter was amazing, the view was beautiful, even though it was raining. I'd define go back here again. I had steak and lobster both cooked to perfection, my husband had the seafood trio, salmon with basil pesto, halibut with tomato-fennel chutney and orange-terragon marinated grilled shrimp. Both dishes were served with red mashed potatoes and a perfectly cooked spinach, not over cooked and slimy, but just cooked enough to give a slight crunch. That and a glass of Malbec, for me was just perfect to help us celebrate our anniversary.
Very expensive for just fish and chips. I'm thinking it is more for tourists than locals.
