Ivan Ramen imagines the Classic NY diner as seen through the Japanese lens. The food is incredible, the service outstanding, the menu is uniquely Ivan Orkin. Ivan Ramen celebrates Ivan’s creativity through the lens of his life journey. His effortless blending of: his New York roots, his classic French training, and his deep understanding of Japan, color the menu and the restaurant. Ramen here is clearly a must, but you should not miss out on the amazing array of other dishes, which are perfect for sharing while you enjoy a well selected sake. Casual, comfortable and quirky with splashes of art inspired by pop culture and movies, Ivan Ramen is simply a fun restaurant.
What Insiders Are Saying
Ivan Ramen is an extremely popular ramen spot from Japan, now in the Lower East Side.
Best ramen experience
Great experience and a wonderful meal
Boyfriend had Tokyo Shoyo, I had vegetarian with marinated egg and bok choy, shared steamed pork buns. We both liked our food and the service was terrific! Would go back
The Korean fried chicken wasn’t good at all, it was dry and tasted old like it was fried and reheated, 3 out of 4 people ate the Fried chicken and all of us end up stomach sick, pork buns are tasty and the the chicken ramen was ok
Perfect and Delicious!!!
Amazing food and great service
Can’t find better Ramen anywhere
The Shiu Ramen was very average. Actually, it was a poor example of Ramen.
The fried squid and pork buns were by far the best items.
Overall, the Ramen was ok. The spicy ramen and chicken stock were the better of the Ramens.
Great ramen, the rye noodles very different and delicious, held up better than regular ramen noodles with a deeper taste! Wonderful staff! We will be back.
Incredible. Great ramen, the fried chicken was fantastic. The vege broth was impossibly rich. Beautiful restaurant and ambiance.
It's beyond me that food can taste this good. Order the sticky buns as a starter, and basically anything in the menu.
Best Ramen I ever had it was so good. It was our first time here and it will not be our last. Food tasted great for the price we paid. Nice staff as well.
Delish! Great ramen for outside-japan. Book/arrive early - gets very busy quick (rightly so!)
Benjamin at the bar was a lovely human. Thank you for the beer suggestions.
Visiting from Australia and had to try Ivan Ramen. Was delicious!
Both snacks are delicious and main plate is the most tradicional one
Great to test out some Ramen, for NY not even that expensive
The service was inconsistent. We could barely get someone to speak with us but the the same server would have fully and friendly conversation two tables down. Waited about 40 minutes after ordering before our food came while other surrounding tables who were seated and ordered after us were receiving their items. The food was delicious but the experience fell short.
The Triple Pork Triple Garlic Mazemen and the Gyokotsu Tsukemen were AHH-MAZING!!! So flavorful and rich. Service was excellent. Ambiance was fun and vibrant.
It's great, but the line can be long and there are few options for vegetarians.
Staff was friendly and gave dynamite beer and food recommendations. Lamb Dan Dan is a must try!
Unfortunately wondering if Ivan is still cooking here. Starters are very good but ramen noodles seems like instant noodles, the eggs are standard hard boiled eggs - not at all what we can expect from a world class ramen chef.
Second time eating here. Food is consistent and amazing! Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to anytime I’m in New York. Worth a visit to anyone looking for unforgettable ramen.
The hostesses here are eager to discourage and turn away guests by lying about wait times. We had called ahead to ask if there was any way to reserve a table for two. The hostess told us we had to walk in to get our name on the wait list and wouldn't tell us how long the wait was, nor did she mention we could reserve online. Upon arrival, we were quoted a ONE HOUR wait time while the restaurant was half empty. We checked Open Table to see if they did reservations and there was a spot open in a few minutes, so we booked that and walked back in to get seated at one of those we saw open earlier. The hostesses continued to quote an hour wait to all walk ins throughout our dinner when this was clearly not the case on a Tuesday evening. All of the walk in guests were turned away/decided to leave. They neglected to mention the option of booking online as they did earlier to us. Lying about wait times is unacceptable as it cheats your servers out of tips and the restaurant out of business. Get your host stand in line.
Great ramen, but in no way worth waiting an hour for. The service was poor and they do not have chilled glasses for their canned beers. Two of the six draft beer selections were no longer stocked. Best thing about the evening was consistent water refills.
Absolute Umami Heaven! A bit pricey and noisy, but it’s about the food here.
miso was fantastic.
the pork belly sliders may have been the greatest things ive ever eaten
Wonderful experience here. Great food and ambiance. Chicken Paitan was incredible
The food and service were outstanding as was the beverage selection - but watch out for the 35 dollar bottle of beer! This place was amazing.
Food was awesome, best ramen I had in years, and I traveled to Japan ;)
Service was good too, excellent beer selection. If you're into sour beers, it'll feel like heaven ;)
The ramen was superb, not too salty, the noodles were yummy and the egg was perfect. The water was so very helpful. Great beer list. And the pickled daikons were a nice surprise.
The ramen was INCREDIBLE and the service was excellent
I go to Ivan’s regularly for Lunch. I always feel the staff is extremely kind, and the food speaks for itself :)
I brought two friends for dinner the other night and we all left happy, satisfied, and looking forward to returning. I enjoyed the Chicken Patan ramen, the eggplant, and the vegan “corn dog”. However, you really can’t go wrong. Try it for lunch if you want to skip the crowd at dinner time.
Attentive staff. Not normally a ramen eater however this restaurant opened my eyes. Excellent texture and taste especially the Bao, eggplant and ramen buck wheat bowl.
This is an awesome spot for food. I love how it’s a famous spot, yet the prices aren’t insane. The ramen was delicious and very well balanced. The portion sizes were great. Also the pickles were phenomenal! I will be returning to this place again.
Amazing ramen and place!
Waiter was really nice and suggested delicious appetizers. They sit everyone pretty close but that’s just how ramen restaurants are. Would recommend.
