Ivan Ramen imagines the Classic NY diner as seen through the Japanese lens. The food is incredible, the service outstanding, the menu is uniquely Ivan Orkin. Ivan Ramen celebrates Ivan’s creativity through the lens of his life journey. His effortless blending of: his New York roots, his classic French training, and his deep understanding of Japan, color the menu and the restaurant. Ramen here is clearly a must, but you should not miss out on the amazing array of other dishes, which are perfect for sharing while you enjoy a well selected sake. Casual, comfortable and quirky with splashes of art inspired by pop culture and movies, Ivan Ramen is simply a fun restaurant.
Sam I think? Brunette at the bar was awesome. Ramen was on the edge of being over seasoned. It’s never fun to set next to drunk
Never fails to satisfy! Great service. Great food. A+
Best ramen ever !
Great food, great staff! The restaurant is small and cosy though busy! The food is excellent (especially that roasted eggplants dish to die for) and the ramen... just go!!!!
Pork belly bao was fantastic! So were the spicy green beans!
Loved it - brilliant service and delicious food. I would definitely recommend!
The best Ramen I ever had. I did not know that so much flavor was possible in a soup - well done ivan, well done.
I would recommend you not to blast the AC so much, we wore jackets and it was still chilly inside
The wait staff were fantastic, they really made you feel comfortable and took good care of us. The food... wow! I had the chicken ramen and it was the best ramen I had in my life and to mention, I’ve hade som really good ramen around Japan.
Amazing food- spicy chilli ramen and pankoncrusted chicken were superb. Loved the food and concept.
Great food and atmosphere. Highly recommend. Must try the inventive appetizers
Perfect! Amazing experience about food and place. We tasted the ramen and a appterizer, both delicious!
Steamed pork buns were out of this world. I would come back just to order a few round of those
Zack was a gem!
I think my expectations for Ivan Ramen were too high. It was good ramen, but nothing exceptional. It was also fairly expensive per bowl, and I also expected larger portions. It's worth going to though.
Great service, fast. Local beers available, food packed with flavor. Awesome overall!
Amazing food and service! The best ramen, corn on the
cob and a sticky bun. I will be dreaming about this ramen.
Great ramen, you won't be disappointed. Staff were very nice and polite.
If I ever get to NYC this place is always on my agenda. One of my favorite things in the world to eat.
All the food we tried was amazing and the server was really helpful in offering suggestions. The food came quickly and was delicious. We had a great spot at the bar.
Lives up to the reputation. It’s a little cramped, but we loved our food.
The Japanese fried chicken is a revelation. The Shoyu Ramen great. And the beer list defies any competition.
Eggplant with tahini, pork bun, pickles were all amazing
Ramen was just ok
Great place, good food and impeccable service.
I was used to the tonkatsu style broth, so their light broth took 2 seconds to get used to. We like the ramen & broth, my partner enjoyed the mazemen (liken to a Japanese bolognese) a lot. . The manager and staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend this place and hope they will serve the tonkatsu broth as an option in the future, not that they need to. In fact, my nephew prefer the ramen here to the momofoku @ Colombus circle.
Went to Ivan Ramen for a date night and it was a blast! Sat at the bar, where we had a very friendly server who was happy to explain different items on the menu. It was a fun environment and the food was outstanding. We will surely be back.
Had a great time, food was very good. Came from WI, this is the second time for me but this time, brought friends to try.
Great service, refreshing take on ramen, great spice in the spicy chili ramen
Fun and delicious
Great place, great food and great fun. We went for a birthday celebration, and we had a great time.
I went and had the spicy green beans and the charred corn to start. The corn was incredible, with just the right amount of spicy and flavor to awaken the pallet and the green beans were delicious and packed with a great amount of sesame and spicy to balance it out just right. Follow that I had the chicken paitan, which in my mind was like eating the most flavorful, a complete polar opposite to your moms bland matzoh ball soup. It was loaded with flavor and each slurp hit you in the face like a NYC bus with flavor and umami. It was the perfect balance of flavor and was literally everything I hoped for and more after watching chefs table and waiting for my chance to have it. After having NYC favorites like Totto Ramen, Nakamura, and Ichiran, I would absolutely recommend it to friends and will definitely be going back.
The vegan ramen was really lackluster, and I was astounded that ~$8 got me just 5 oz of beer.
This experience exceeded our expectations!
We were visiting NYC from Toronto. Having seen Ivan Ramen on Chef’s Table and read his cookbook, we were excited by the chance to try the menu. Everything exceeded expectations. It’s a fun restaurant, service is friendly, and the food was delicious. The Tokyo Shio Ramen was fantastic. I would highly recommend dining here.
amazing food, great environment, creative flavors!
The Chicken Paitan Ramen was amazing! The broth was rich, flavorful and not overpowering. It had a darker color than is typical for chicken paitan but came together nicely with the egg yolk and the minced meat. Would definitely get it again!
Amazing service! Our server helped us with recommendations and was very attentive. The restaurant staff were even able to accommodate us when we arrived early for our reservation. Best ramen around!
Perfect food. Incredibly tasty.
Ivan Ramen was always on my bucket list. So I had to go. I made a reservation 8:30pm. I got there hour late so I understood what the situation would be like. It wasn’t extremely busy but it had traffic. I approached the front and the hostess said it would be 10-15 min wait. So I thought that’s cool. But then another host person came up to me with a very snarky rude tone. And said “ because u came extremely late and u missed ur reservation you have to wait 10-15 min wait”. First of all I was already told that. And second of all there’s no reason to be rude. Anyways I waited. Started off with a bad taste in my mouth. We finally got a table. The ambience is decent. Very small cramped. I’m ok with that because I love small Japanese ramen spots. But it wasn’t comfortable. Sat on the wall table. The server we had was extremely great bless him. But the other workers around him were to casual at moments. I ordered the fried chicken, tsukemen and about ramen.
The fried chicken was in a sauce that was good but it was too strong. It had a very vinegar salt taste. It was cool for the first couple bites but after that it got too much. The tsukemen noodles and pork were dope. The pickled greens on the side was also too strong. Didn’t care for the them and the dipping broth needed more broth and came out almost cold. The shoyu ramen had a smoky flavor to it. It was good. But not amazing. Overall everything was overpriced for the experience and taste. Nothing special.
Awesome place with extremely delicious food
