Ivan Ramen imagines the Classic NY diner as seen through the Japanese lens. The food is incredible, the service outstanding, the menu is uniquely Ivan Orkin. Ivan Ramen celebrates Ivan’s creativity through the lens of his life journey. His effortless blending of: his New York roots, his classic French training, and his deep understanding of Japan, color the menu and the restaurant. Ramen here is clearly a must, but you should not miss out on the amazing array of other dishes, which are perfect for sharing while you enjoy a well selected sake. Casual, comfortable and quirky with splashes of art inspired by pop culture and movies, Ivan Ramen is simply a fun restaurant.

Service was great! Both hostess & waiter were wonderful. Food was very tasty, layered and full. The backyard outdoor seating was spacious and lovely. Throughly enjoyed our meal.
Legendary as always
Ivan Ramen is one of the best restaurant experiences in Manhattan time and time again. William is a natural server and bartender, knowledgeable, humble, and sociable with guests. The Shio and Curry Flower are crown jewels of the menu.
The ramen lived up to the hype and the service was very good. Would love to go again and would recommend to anyone who loves ramen.
Will is a great bartender / waiter !
Good food, smiling people, good service and good value
We chose to sit outside in front of the restaurant on a day when the massive trucks get to use that street, so it was sufficiently noisy but otherwise a lovely delicious meal with a fabulous server. The food holds up so no matter what kind of hater reviews you read, everything was above and beyond the rep. We loved the cukes, the crispy eggplant, Japanese fried chicken and sesame noodles. All good all around. Loved it!
The food was fantastic. The kids loved the pork buns and curry. The triple k triple garlic was so, so good. All staff members we came in contact with were welcoming and patient. Everyone in our party is planning another visit.
Best ramen ever
Ivan, if you don’t already know, is a known quantity in the world of celebrity chef sensations. I came upon this energetic, fast paced eatery while looking at a cat cafe across the street. Now, I’ve watched and read some of Ivan’s story, so my expectations were already sky high. It did not disappoint.
Shared between my partner and I, we had the esteemed pork buns, spicy ramen, tonkonsu ramen, and finished with a Yuzu cheesecake. The pork buns were intensely savory and balanced with some kind of pickle. Fantastic. Both ramen had an hefty, thick, rich broth with thin noodles that are perfectly al dente. As a big fan of foodie ramen, this competes with the best without the pretension of being “authentic Japanese.” Ivan, after all, is a self described Jewish boy from Long Island.
The decor is a quirky middle ground between a dive bar and a classy steakhouse. With an open kitchen and non-uniformed staff, the youthful energy of Ivan Ramen matches the casual ramen dining experience as it meant to be. I found it just a tad fast for my pace and most patrons seems to be in and out within the hour. It is more an espresso dose of gastronomic satisfaction than a lazy Sunday morning. Luckily, being located in the booze soaked neighborhood of LES, there are plenty of after dinner activities nearby should you wish to savor the evening.
If you are craving ramen, I can’t see how you can go wrong with Ivan.
A stellar experience as always. Whenever my husband and I come to NYC it is a must stop for lunch ! Our faves : spicy kyuri pickles, crispy eggplant ( I dare you to eat only one plate of them...to die for) and chicken paitan ramen. We split a piece of cheesecake for my birthday —- and our server, Jhovanna , was fabulous and a total sweetheart!!! Love you guys !!
I love ramen and have been wanting to try this place ever since seeing the episode on Chef’s Table. It didn’t disappoint! Had the triple pork triple garlic - the noodles were perfectly cooked and the thick pork sauce oozed umami and flavor creating an outstanding bowl! I’ll definitely be back!
10/10 would recommend for ANYBODY!
We came because we watched Ivan’s story and food featured on Netflix’s “Chefs Table.” But we stayed because of the delicious food, amazing staff, and overall experience.
When in NYC you plan to see and try all the things - especially being NA food Mecca. I’m an “okay” cook from a small town so making certain foods ourselves is our only option. We don’t travel as often as one hopes (big trip every two years). So I trying to find the “best” food or something better than what I can make at home (depending on availability) is ideal.
Our first night we went to Momofuku Noodle Bar the ramen was good but wasn’t as expected. Our second night we went to Ivan Ramen and it completely blew Noodle Bar out the water. It was so good we ended up going THREE times in our 2 week trip.
Every time the food and service was excellent. We tried a new dish or two but kept getting these “keystone” dishes - I would recommend these on your first visit. The steamed pork buns and “Tokyo Shio” Ramen. The buns were a nice pillowy texture with the savory fatty pork belly. The Ramen was always on point, the broth was light but rich, the noodles were nice and springy with a lil bite. The ingredients - especially the tomato (umami bomb!) went together beautifully.
A helpful hint is if you leave left over broth/sauce. You can order another serving of extras. If I was hungry I got a combination of the noodles, chashu pork, and tomato.
The spicy pickles, green beans, fried chicken, and cauliflower were all unique and tasty appetizers to start the meal.
All the ramen were great but I’d put them on a scale from “light” to “heavy” broths (they’re all rich in flavor). Starting from “light” to “heavy” the Shio, Shoyu’s, Spicy, Paitan, Tonkotsu, and lastly the Mazeman (triple pork/garlic). Aside from the Shio I’d recommend the Mazeman (order to extra noodles so good!), and the Tonkotsu.
Id suggest this as your first food stop in town!
Best ramen ever! We flew from the West Coast to eat at Ivan’s and we were also honored to meet and speak with him. It was a great birthday celebration!
Love Ivan ramen! The best and our favorite ramen.
The waiter was so knowledgeable and friendly! The back garden was gorgeous and relaxing. Loved the food!
Great experience. Service good and very helpful given nut allergy concerns.
Seating inside - virtually on top of each other.
Highly recommend the Tonkotsu Ramen and Chicken Paitan.
Best ramen in new york, would recommend the shio. Fried chicken great too and wonderful service.
Best ramen we have ever had, super friendly staff. Overall a must eat restaurant
Always an amazing experience. I don’t want anyone to know about this place — just my out of town friends ;)
Delicious food but we had really loud annoying people right behind us
There wasn't a dish that we ate that wasn't outstanding. The food and the vibe of the restaurant was excellent. I saw Ivan on the Chef's Table, and I had to try his noodles and they were delicious.
Cute spot for lunch. The ramen was good but the pork buns stole the show. Service was fast and friendly.
After hearing about Ivan Ramen from friends, I decided to take my daughter there while in NY for the weekend. So glad we did. The crispy eggplant was so good as a first course and our ramen was perfection a rainy summer night. We will be back.
Always amazing! Thank you for everything!
Great! Saw you guys on chefs table and wanted to give it a try. Amazing!
Delicious ramen as well as great selection of appetizers - loved the pork buns and fried chicken dishes. Attentive service. Had a fun time. Recommend reservations
It was one of the best ramen ever in my life! I’ve been to many ramen places in Newyork but Ivan ramen was so good. Their noodles are special. I highly recommend Ivan ramen.
Overall, great. But the back patio is not well ventilated.
Delicious and yummy. Service and food time is always fast.
Absolutely delicious - the triple pork, triple garlic is worth a trip to NYC alone.
Service was a bit amiss with little attention to refilling water and checking back in with us at the table.
Best Ramen in USA. Ivan was there and insanely kind. Hella professional service.
Menu is a little limited, but the food was great. Well prepared and most importantly, tasty! Would come back again.
Great service, delicious food. Save room for the Yuzu cheesecake, it’s equally as delicious as the savory dishes!
