Ivan Ramen imagines the Classic NY diner as seen through the Japanese lens. The food is incredible, the service outstanding, the menu is uniquely Ivan Orkin. Ivan Ramen celebrates Ivan’s creativity through the lens of his life journey. His effortless blending of: his New York roots, his classic French training, and his deep understanding of Japan, color the menu and the restaurant. Ramen here is clearly a must, but you should not miss out on the amazing array of other dishes, which are perfect for sharing while you enjoy a well selected sake. Casual, comfortable and quirky with splashes of art inspired by pop culture and movies, Ivan Ramen is simply a fun restaurant.
What Insiders Are Saying
Ivan Ramen is an extremely popular ramen spot from Japan, now in the Lower East Side.
Waiters were very conscientious with us
My family and I really enjoyed Ivan Ramen. The best vegetarian ramen I've ever had. And the brussel sprouts appetizer was delicious. My only complaint is a small one--I wish the plating had been nicer.
The ramen and appetisers were fabulous! The table by the door was absolutely freezing as every time another customer came in (which was very 2 minutes) we got another hit of very cold New York air, so hence the lower rating.
We sat at the counter in front of kitchen, where Jonathen took great care of us. As expected, everything was FANTASTIC but somehow it still was one of our best experiences at Ivan Ramen. Unexpected was the cauliflower with curry sauce. Crispy florets and well-integrated flavors without bathing in sauce. The chicken paitan is a perfect compliment to the pork musubi's, which are easy to become addicted to.
The local, NYC brewed Kura sake is a nice touch
I always get the japanese fried chicken and spicy red chili ramen with ground chicken, both are very delicious. The spicy ramen dish is quite spicy, and the rye noodles are addictive, and it all goes well together with the bok choy and meat. Also, usually a great beer selection! Just book a reservation in advance, regular dinner times fill up quickly on the weekends.
Great restaurant experience !!!! Amazing pork buns and the service was quick! We really enjoyed out experience!
kind knowledgeable and friendly staff.....
food was creative , great tasting and good value..
the space and the staff made the lunch so comfortable.. highlight of the day
Liked the place itself and the noodles were good, but the broth was so greasy and salty, couldn't really eat it. I was so looking forward to going to Ivan Ramen and was quite disappointed. Staff were really nice though!
Some of the best ramen I've had in the city ! I got the chicken Paitan , great soup!
Also their beer list is great, and our server was awesome!
This is the 4th disappointementafter the hype generated by chef table. Average food in a basic if not even unpleasant joint, crowded and over-stuffed with uncofmortable small tables.
As I said, it is the 4th out of 4 disappointement after Chef Table.
Came here for my birthday with my husband. We sat at the counter and had the best server possibly in our lives (and my husband was a server at high end restaurants for 14 years). Such a great spot, - the fried chicken is a MUST!
Finally got here for dinner after years of wanting to go. Was a great experience, not overhyped at all! Was happy w everything, pork buns fantastic, all 3 ramens superb and great service!
very expensive, very salty ramen and less frindly employee
Really quick and tasty meal - we had the pork balls - they were okay. Japanese fried chicken was great, as were the two special udons (lamb and pork). Would definitely return!
Nice servers, the room was a bit noisy but not enough to disturb a conversation, and the food was phenomenal.
The food was good but we were kicked out of our table after an hour by the host ... they need to allow more time fir people to finish their food
Had a great time with some old friends at Ivan Ramen. The location is located in the Lower East Side, notorious for its vibrant bar scene, so if you're looking for a place with drinks and an energetic environment this is for you.
Conversely, this not the place for a family setting if you're going during prime hours. Since the Chef's Table episode about the place I noticed several folks bringing families and looking miserable -- and for good reason (see above).
Come ready for a lively night and you'll be well rewarded!
Waiter was very friendly and the food was fantastic!
Un lugar con una excelente comida. Obviamente el ramen es el plato principal, pero los demás son igual de buenos. Recomiendo la limonada.
Es preferible reservar antes de ir
Best ramen ever eaten.
Good hospitality! We have eaten a lot Ramen in other places in the past. Especially our kids visited a lot of places in Asia. This was by far the best experience.
You will love it here. They have the best ramen and the best beer to pair it
The food was delicious. Everything was fantastic. The service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is busier than I thought it would be and a little hectic at times. We were seated near the front and there was a bit of a draft every time the door opened.
Chef Ivan had quite an amazing personal journey to lead him to open the ramen restaurants and it’s featured on Netflix documentary “Chef’s Table”. Wonder how authentic the ramen could be since it’s from a Jewish American chef? Wait till you tried! Everything on the menu, from small bites such as pickled daikon with xo sauce, mini sandwiches with wagyu beef tongue, and the amazingly delicious Japanese eggplant with tahini, ... to the variety of hand-made ramen, they are not just yummy, but also with chef’s creative twists!
The restaurant is small but it takes reservation online. The staffs are super friendly and efficient. My review is based on two most recent visits and I highly recommended.
Food is not worth the hype
Ivan Ramen is my favorite ramen in the city! Friendly service, cool space that plays good music, and delicious food. Don't skip the Coney Island Tofu!
It lives up the the press it gets. Rich flavors in all of the food and some interesting seasonal starters and craft beer.
Great food and perfect service. Chicken / cauliflower starters were fantastic. Can’t wait to go again.
Nice spot, it’s hard to find ramen places that accept reservations!
Ramen was delicious as were the apps we ordered. Service was excellent.
Friendly service! Food came at a good pace.
The food was outstanding. I loved the fried chicken appetizer and the triple pork and garlic dish
New Years trip from San Francisco!
Try Ivan chicken ramen!
My wife saw the restaurant featured on Netflix. The food was amazing and the staff very helpful on suggestions for ordering. Great vibe and decor.
Great restaurant. Well priced. Tasty food. Lived up to the hype. Thick noodles were the bomb!
Outstanding consistent and yummy💥
My vegetable ramen was very salty and seating is a bit tight, but the drinks and pork buns were good, and value and service were very satisfactory for a buzzy type place.
The food was delicious but salty
My wife and I watched the Chef’s Table episode about Ivan Ramen and wanted to try it while in town for our 5th anniversary. It exceeded all expectations. Great experience!
Amazing! The food was excellent!
