Ivan Ramen imagines the Classic NY diner as seen through the Japanese lens. The food is incredible, the service outstanding, the menu is uniquely Ivan Orkin. Ivan Ramen celebrates Ivan’s creativity through the lens of his life journey. His effortless blending of: his New York roots, his classic French training, and his deep understanding of Japan, color the menu and the restaurant. Ramen here is clearly a must, but you should not miss out on the amazing array of other dishes, which are perfect for sharing while you enjoy a well selected sake. Casual, comfortable and quirky with splashes of art inspired by pop culture and movies, Ivan Ramen is simply a fun restaurant.
Eat here. It is truly wonderful. Beef tongue was so flavorful and the pork buns. ....wow. Both mazemen ramen dishes were great and the chicken ramen heavenly. We waddled out very happy.
Was not disappointed but I expected the delicious ramen to be amazing....
Nevertheless thanks Ivan will return
never fails, one of my favorite places for a quick night out. A+
Fantastic dinner - exactly what I was looking for!
The Japanese friend chicken was particularly salty. The serving was quite healthy, but couldn’t finish because of the salt. Pork buns were good, but one of the pieces of chashu was cool to the touch. The downside is that the meat has more of a chew and the fatty pieces have a “bite.” It makes the mouthfeel unpleasant. The pickled daikon was a nice pairing with the bun. I’ve eaten here before and didn’t have this happen, so obviously it was just a cooking error. Had two Ramens. The Triple Pork, Triple garlic. Incredibly tasty. Noodles had a nice chew and the flavor was rich and everything I wanted it to be. I expected there to be more of a garlicky taste, but it was more subtle. I also had the a Chicken Paitan Ramen. It was delicious. The chicken broth/soup was by far the best tasting item I had that day. It comes with an egg yolk and a slice of lime that you mix into the soup. Made the broth more creamy and rich. The acid helped balance the richness of the scrumptious paitan ramen. The chicken pieces in the soup were tiny and plentiful. An excellent accompaniment to slurping up the broth after I finished the noodles. Beer selection is great. Craft brews (good ones) are already expensive and the restaurant mark up on top makes it a little hard to order more than one beer. Overall it’s worth a visit and I will be back. I like Ivan’s story and his food is very good.
If you are a fan of Ramen or never had it. This is your place. Broth & noodles spot ON.
Great food. Laid back, loud environ
Superb ramen of several varieties. We also had the crispy eggplant and the steamed pork buns. Both delicious. The service was friendly and helpful. Will definitely return!
Delicious every time!
Amazing service. Almost too perfect.
We were seated right at our reservation time, at opening, at a table near the kitchen. Our server was great, attentive but not too clingy. The food was outstanding and my 14 yo daughter got to have the lunch of her dreams. The ONLY thing I might change is lowering the music level a little....I loved the mood it set but the combo of the music and packed restaurant made it a little loud. Can’t wait to go back regardless!
What a joke! This is abolutely not one of the best ramen in New York, whatever jimmy Fallon says. Bad presentation or just regular. Too much salt in ramen and almost no meat.
Don’t loose time and energy to go there.
Amazing food, staff and environment! The service is quick and worth every bite.
Pork buns were very good. Ramen broths were too intense for us. Noodles too thin. Eggs perfect. Lemonade delicious.
Amazing place. Food, beer and vibe. Originally watched chefs table on Ivan and needed to get here. I waited far too long, gonna be making this a regular spot.
Ottima scoperta, lontano dalle segnalazioni delle guide.
The food was ok, but there are many better ramens in nyc.
small portion for $18. I can go to Chinatown and get better quality, better taste, More bok Choi larger portion for $7. I find that the ego of wealthy chefs take advantage of price & portion. One & done. No one I talk to will go there.
Me and two friends were here recently and we really had an awesome time! All three of us work in the food industry and we mentioned this in passing to one of our servers who had catered to my food allergies without fuss or any major exemptions which for me is a great thing! Servers had exceptional knowledge of the menu items and were all smiles. The cooks did their job wonderfully as well, all of our food was balanced and presented at the optimum temperatures, the pork belly buns were a showstopper before the main act even started!!!! Everyone raved over their bowls and my Chicken Paitan was an eye opener, the broth was rich and flavorful without being overly heavy, the addition of lime juice made it even more balanced and complex. I look forward to our next visit!
Decent selection of Japanese dishes with a fusion twist. The Katsu Sando & Ebi Fry starters were good. Tsukamen was the right chewiness. The Ramen is probably not the best in NY, but definitely not the worst!
LOVE Ivan Ramen! Love the food, the crew, the whole shabooey! Best noodles NYC.
The best ramen i've ever eaten. I saw gripes about portion size, but it is definitely not a small portion. Go here. Now.
Ivan Ramen is great. We went on a Friday. It was very busy. So not great if you are looking for cozy and quiet. But if you want energetic, cool music, and great food, it is a fantastic option.
Hi, it is the best Ramen in the univers, we heard of Iven in Israel and we arrived in Nyc last week and wenr direct to Clinton St 25, and we had a wondefull coversation with on of the staff. Excelent
My partner and I made a reservation for 8:15pm tonight on the app earlier this morning, and we arrived shortly before 8pm, and was told they might not seat us until reserved time. No worry, as we've been walking all over today and appreciated a sit down before meal. Lo and behold, bar seats opened up early and we were seated 8:05pm. Meal was wonderful, and service was attentive. We will definitely reserve though OpenTable and return to Ivan Ramen again!
Absolutely an remarkable food experience. Will go back soon.
Ivan Ramen is one of my favorite restaurants and definitely my favorite ramen. I’ve been there so many times with friends that I’ve lost count and I don’t even live in New York. The “triple pork triple garlic” lives up to its name and is a delight. My personal favorite l, though, is the spicy red chili ramen.
Now let me tell you something. I love spicy stuff. The waiter told me it was a 7 out of 10 and I was like “doubt it.” It was actually spicy, in a wya that I love. He also gave me extra spicy stuff to add and it was amazing. Seriously the best spicy ramen I’ve ever had I had in this most recent visit.
The staff is also excellent, they help each other out, they’re good at their job. I’ll be back... again.
It was hip, happy and delicious!
Lived up to the hype! Make sure you get a reservation as it was packed as soon as the doors opened. Wait staff were on top of it and food was out on our table in less than 15 minutes. Go and enjoy!
I’ve visited Japan plenty and used to live in East Asia, where homegrown ramen shops and Japanese brands abounded. Ivan Ramen lives up to - and often exceeds - them. Flavors are creative but still recognizable, honoring both Eastern European Jewish cooking and Japanese noodle shops. Broths are complex and not too fatty, noodles have bounce, and the ingredients are top notch. Believe the hype, make a reservation, be patient, and enjoy one of the best bowls of ramen in North America.
Ramen was a little bland and service was only so so
All around amazing; food was great! Drinks were also very nice.
Food is fantastic! Great options for meat-eaters and vegetarians!
Great food with high paced service! Easily get a quick bowl of ramen but the vibe is relaxed enough you could also sit for a nice meal with friends!
Great food, great service & fun, chill decor...felt like home!
Ribs were tasty. Ramen was subpar but a good bowl nonetheless.
Lugar 100% recomendable, el Ramen es increíble.
