Itzik Hagadol Grill Ratings and Reviews
Tonight my husband and I had the twenty+ salads, yum! and we ordered one of the mixed kabobs that came with two sides as well. They should make better french fries - a lil soggy and not crispy, otherwise everything was SO DELICIOUS - we will be back again, I highly recommend. The service is excellent! We went home with lunch for the next day too!
The food is delicious!!! Everything was fresh and tasty :) Our favorites salads were the hummus, Babaganush (eggplants in mayo), corn-mushroom, red cabbage in mayo, and red beet in vinegar.
The resturant is clean, the service was good, and the meat is delicious! (We ate the Kabab and chicken hearts)
We will come back :)
We ate at the restaurant about 4 years ago. It was a Saturday night and there wasn't an empty table. This past Saturday night there were only about 4 tables of guest. There have been a lot negative reviews and I would say some part were true and not. The service was great and fast and very professional even though they were very young. The amount of veg trays were good, not great but good and plentiful. They brought as much as we asked for. NOW for the major negative, there were 6 of us, and the bill with tip was $260, only one drink. The meat dishes are extremely expensive for the quantity. I will say the quality was good and better than expected but the a side of lamb chops $38, that's on top of paying per person $11 for the veg assortment which was a good buy. All in all we might go back but not for another 4-5 years.
There is definitely something different and missing this could be a great restaurant again that it use to be and they need to step up their game plan.
I LOVE this place! The only downside--it's hard to stop eating because the food is so good. And don't get me started on the bread. It's unbelievably delicious and cooked on the spot. Everyone at the restaurant is very nice and it's clear they like seeing you enjoy the food. It's my favorite L.A. restaurant. One word of advice: Show up hungry!
Food is fabulous. Tons of very different and delicious salads and vegetables while still being a meat-centric grill. Their meat dishes are delish. The lamb is so good! Try the garlic fries , they are like homemade chips with lemon and garlic. Fantastic service. Open all day on Sundays with ample parking.
Service was terrible, food was kind of tasteless and overly mild without flavor and it was pricey with a $15 corkage fee on top of every thing else. And the service was awful! We actually had to hunt down the server to have our order taken, and we were one of only 6 people in the restaurant. We won't be back.
Excellent Middle Eastern food with an unusual twist. The bread is not the typical pita, but a lighter variant that I've never experienced before. In addition to the standard Middle Eastern food, they have exotic stuff like Moroccan Cigars. Try this restaurant - you'll like it.
very disappointing and likely our last visit.
when we first ate here years ago, the salads would be refilled as the plates emptied. this didn't happen on our two most recent visits (over a year apart). we used to be offered to-go boxes for the uneaten portions of the salads. this hasn't happened the last two visits. (i even remember a waitress offering to refill a salad plate when we were full JUST so we could take home leftovers.) i don't know if the policy changed or if we just changed our luck with the customer service of our waitresses.
the salad spread is fun, but with a party of three, the plates take up the entire table. when our entrees arrived... barely 10 minutes into our dining.... there was no where to put the new giant plates. my husband, who doesn't really like about 15 of the 20 salads (but pays for them anyway... which is fine, but why we never go when it's just the two of us), was willing to switch his plate for his entree. i already had food on my plate and didn't want to switch. waitress seemed annoyed by this. i asked her to just box it up since there was literally nowhere to put it down. she chastised me for not even tasting the entree.
I saw your restaurant through yelp and t ad great rating. I thought it would be a great place for a family night out for dinner. The servers behind us near the kitchen we sitting and talking looking t their phones. There were Fruit flies every where and it's was disgusting. Your food is over priced or he quality given. The chicken breast was dry and had no flavor..the vegetables were over cooked and it seem to have too much oil/butter...I expected more quality on your food. OH plus your kitchen staff were on their phone as well and look ike they don't care about your business.
Our first visit. We felt transported back to Jaffa where we had partaken of a similar meal a few years ago in Israel. That was a fun and most memorable day in our lives. To be able to relive that moment in time and space with a drive to Encino to this wonderful restaurant is beyond belief.
Been to this place many times. Love the food. We shared a few salads, Romanian Kebabs (very tasty) Lamb chops( very tasty)
Service was lacking. not as usual. No water refills, no water unless we asked for it, no side dishes...
We shared 2 deserts. At $11 a desert, I felt they were overpriced for what we got.
No plates for desert sharing....
