Excellent service and food! Had a fabulous night out with friends!
A real gem proving there is more to Ipswich than clams
Was exactly what I wanted and tasted exactly how I expected it to taste!! Delicious GREEK FOOD
Greek Easter 2018: in the words of that loser, Hilary: "what happened"?
Very disappointed with the braised/roasted lamb this year; very tough meat, had to cut it with a butter knife??? Very fatty and overly spiced with a strange taste; not Greek
potatoes, crispy like Greek potatoes should be, string beans in tomato sauce
oh my, tasted soggy and like from a can. My husband selected a good wine, but pricey.
Chocolate mousse dessert and orange flavored cheese cake both were good.
Definitely overpriced for that lamb entree; maybe you should try another supplier.
Sorry for this bad review, but our dining experience that day was really disappointing.
We have had a much better experience in the past. We were wondering if the restaurant is under new management and "chefs".
4/7/18. I have eaten many times at Ithaki and always had a good experience. On this last occasion, we ordered 3 appetizers to share, including 6 oysters on the half shell. My son ate a couple of oysters and my daughter had one oyster. As soon as she put it into her mouth she realized it was a bad oyster. We left the remaining 2 oysters. When the waitress came over, i told her what happened. She apologized and when she presented the bill, she advised that they had only charged us for 3 oysters. What!? They give us an appetizer that is less than fully satisfactory, my daughter had little appetite for the rest of her meal. Ithaki charges us for half of the app. This experience will definitely discourage me from returning. Really poor customer service Ithaki!!! Shane on you.
Sarah was a great server. Food was very good. Desserts amazing. Overall nice night out.
Service and food is outstanding. Excellent wine list. You can trust recommendations from the wait staff. They know their wines. Yes, dont pass up desert.
The short rib with pasta is AMAZING!!! My husband had the cod & was quite happy too. They also have a good bar menu with sandwiches, etc. Nice place with great food.
Very consistent and authentic cuisine. A very delightful restaurant.
This place has changed recently. Bread was day old and food came out lukewarm and tasted as if it had been reheated. Hate to lose this place as one of our go-tos.
The lamb shank was surprisingly devoid of an spice flavors. The Greek red wine suggested was perfect though!
Table was ready when we arrived! Attractive bar area .Our group went to Greece a year ago, so everything felt authentic. Service attentive.
Fun night, no missteps, and we look forward to going back, especially for the delicious Moussaka!
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants outstanding authentic Greek food. I drive over 30 minutes each way- and it is totally worth it. The lamb skewers appetizer and gyros and pistachio baklava and just about anything on the menu is so worth it. I love that it is a gorgeous but quieter atmosphere- for me I think it can be romantic at a table for two... or fun for large group/party. This is one of my favorites!!!
Absolutely phenomenal food! My wife and I have been several times and always go for special occasions.
Being very familiar with authentic Greek food, and having enjoyed dinner at Ithaki several years ago, we expected something different than we received. There were no children’s offerings. I asked if they could include a pita in the bread basket for my granddaughter. I was immediately told there would be an extra charge. Fine, I know she will eat pita. For $3 we got one cut up pita. Really, $3.00?
I found some odd spices in the food. Nutmeg should not be the predominant spice in pastitso. The saganaki was not a level vaguely similar to that which I have eaten all over Greece during several trips. All things considered, not my favorite Greek restaurant.
Valentine's dinner was great. Seemed like a special menu - fewer small plates, more entrees. Service was attentive. Food was a great portion and wonderful . The grilled octopus app was nicely charred. The steak was perfectly cooked. The halibut was exceptional - great flavor. For dessert we got the pistachio baklava which looked more like taquitos. A little tough, but tasty.
Valentines special
We usually eat here once a month. Went here this time on Valentines Day and sat at the bar. The menu was slightly different due to the day but we both found something excellent to eat. My wife's Halibut was done to perfection as was my chicken. Our bar tender Jeffery was top notch. He knew his stuff and really enjoys what he is doing even recommended some unique drinks which we tried and enjoyed. This place is huge with the locals and I feel it is the best Greek/Mediterranean places anywhere.
The food, service and atmosphere are always fantastic at Ithaki.
We had a fabulous meal! The 3 of us shared 6 small plates and then had dessert and came away so full we needed a walk! Wonderfull combinations, fresh fish and tasty seasonal vegetables!
The food quality is good, but the portion is getting smaller and the price is getting more expensive.
The service is very good, I would recommend to pay 20%+ tip for their good service.
In short, I would not come back again. Byebye, Ithaki.
My 24 year old niece and I went here on a Sunday evening at 7:00 pm. The resturant was a bit quiet (last seating 8:00 Sunday?). We loved the small plates: scallops, shrimp, elephant beans. They were all VERY tasty. We also had the fried cheese and thought that to be just so-so. We were stuffed so could not eat dessert. The ambiance was nice. There were a few what seemed like locals at the bar having a good time.
Ithaki is a gem right in heart heart of Ipswich. We live in Ipswich and look forward to meeting friends here to share our home town spot. The food was great and service just right. We look forward to our next visit.
We love this place! We have been going there every 4-6 weeks for 5 years. I highly recommend it! The food is always made from fresh ingredients and is always fabulous!
Excellent food and excellent service!
Delicious food and nice service
We have been visiting this place since it opened. Never had a disappointing meal. The service staff is well trained. The food is well prepared and tasty.
It was awesome.
Great food, great service, ambience very nice. Can't go wrong whether you order appetizers or full dinner. Authentic Greek cooking. Awesome.
We went to Ithaki on a Saturday evening and I had the swordfish special. It was the best I ever had! Very moist, fresh and flavorful. My husband had the fish and chips small plates which was plentiful for a good meal. We will return for sure!
We always are happy with whatever we choose! We were seated in the bar are by the Christmas tree, which was so cozy. The service is excellent and the bacon wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese melted in our mouths.
Ithaki was good as usual. We hadn't been for dinner for a while so nice to get back. We normally seem to end up here for lunch on the weekends, which is terrific. Since we were there for dinner, that meant the lamb shank was in order. Terrific as usual. Killer grape leaves that grandmother makes. I had the octopus and as usual it was great. Simple but tasty. Some ground fav beans accompanied and were a good foil for the octopus. Galaktobordiko (I'm probably spelling it wrong) was for dessert and again was very good. We'll be back.
This is not your run of the mill Greek restaurant. The chef here is amazing and the food continues to amaze me, especially the chef's specials. The swordfish special with white beans and squash was unbelievable. If it were not at Ithaca, I would not have even dreamed of ordering it, because I am more of a fish/meat, potatoes and vegetables person. The flavors were amazing, the fish so fresh. I also love the greek deserts. I find it to be among a small handful of truly good restaurants on the North Shore.
Always excellent! The best food on the North Shore.
Outstanding food and service. The chef Spencer is amazing
Ithaki brings me back to my Greek roots, it offers delicious authentic Greek dishes beautifully presented and in generous portions. We've been going for over ten years now and it's better than ever. Their octopus is so tender and flavorful, good to share before your main course. Their fish is so fresh, being in Ipswich their fortunate to have it locally sourced. I wish I could remember our waiters name, he served us in the bar, tall, thin, young, handsome, and so very patient, gracious and knowledgeable of their offerings. He couldn't do enough for us. Try it, your going to find yourselves mailing it one of your regular restaurants.
Delicious Greek food. Excellent service. Well worth the drive to Ipswich.
We have been to this restaurant a number of times before and it is as good as ever. Great, authentic Greek food and great service.
We went to Ithaki for the first time in many years. Our mistake in not going back sooner. It is as wonderful as ever - the best food around, wonderful service, and reasonably priced for the quality of food.
Fantastic!! Loved the food and the service was great!
