   We all enjoyed a wonderful Mother's Day celebration. Our party of six all found the food and service terrific. On a very busy day at the restaurant, our server, Janicia, was friendly and informative. She paced our meal perfectly. We will be back.

   We had reservations, we were seated promptly. The service however was extremely slow. I realize this was Mother's Day but when we were seated the restaurant was not even half full so the slow service could not be blamed on the day being busy. The food was very good. Price is reasonable.

   First, shoutout to our server Christos (aka Christos Anesti) who had a great sense of humor and was an excellent server, attentive not intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond for our gluten-free vegan. We were a party of 6 celebrating Mother’s Day on Saturday (so much easier to get a reservation) with my 90-year old mother, sister, brother-in-law, niece and my wife. We started with the following appetizers for the table calamari, dolmades, Greek French Fries, horiatiki salad and avgolemono soup (good amount of chicken breast but needed more 🍋 lemon). Excellent beginning! Entrees included paella (shared with me and my mother), 2 blackened salmon, pastitsio and the vegan had roasted lemon potatos, Fava bean purée and roasted carrots (not on the menu but made special because Christos asked the kitchen). The dolmades and pastitsio flavors reminded us of our Yia Yai’s preparation. That’s a big deal! Our only issue was the entrees took too long to come out post appetizers. We chalked it up to the paella. The paella was “okay” as it wasn’t traditionally made, in my opinion, and a touch overcooked. Not sure if I am right about this but, I thought there was a red sauce used in the paella preparation and not enough saffron flavor/taste. Our party is particularly sensitive to salt and felt less salt could have been used in the preparation of all of the entrees. That’s us and guessing most people would be totally fine with the amount of salt. This was our first time eating at this new location and will absolutely return in the near future.

    Beautiful restaurant, comfy seats, wonderful service… food was fantastic… I can’t get over the dessert we had (Galactobouriko) it was one of the best desserts I’ve had out to eat. Date night was a success! Thank you.

    What a gem! We shared a variety of small plates and everything was delicious. Falafel, lamb chops, eggplant and greek cheese platter. The baklava is a must for dessert. Service was attentive and we never felt rushed. Lovely decor as well.

    The food was delicious, but ridiculously overpriced. Portions are small in relation relation to the price you pay. Geez I mean could they have spared more carrots in the chicken dinner? Could they have spared more beets in the spring lamb rack dinner? And did they have spare any vegetable in the lamb shank dinner? It only came with lamb shank and orzo, no veggie?

    Ithaki was a nice experience. The atmosphere is nicely decorated. The service was very attentive even from the servers that were not attending to our table who helped out. The food is good, portions were reasonable and the food was nicely presented with some decorated dishes. A recommendation is to order and share a few small plates. I will be returning to Ithaki.

    I have ordered the Tuna entree in the past and ordered it again because it was so good. I was very disappointed. It was not the same dish. The spices on the tuna were not as good and it was on a bed of white beans, not the hummus and couscous that I had before and as listed on the menu. My friend's dish came out cold and had to be sent back. I would have sent mine back as well but it was her birthday and I didn't want to disrupt the celebration.

    Ithaki was wonderful and did not disappoint! We had always wanted to go but never managed to get to Ipswich. The Peabody location was much closer and the beautifully decorated space made you forget that Route 1 was just outside the door. There were too many dishes to order - they all sounded delicious! We opted for the three spread appetizer - hummus, tzatziki and tirokafteri. All were excellent but the tirokafteri was our favorite. The dolmades were tangy and tasty as was the shrimp sagnaki. My husband had the pistachio crusted rack of lamb, cooked perfectly, that came with amazing eggplant on the side. We didn’t have room for dessert. Next time, I’m already planning order the Greek salad and an octopus meze- we can’t wait to go back. Yum!
