Italian Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
lovely setting, very family friendly though we saw very few children the evening we went.
first chicken dinner that came out was very tough, quickly replaced with better meal. 2 of 3 had the fixed price dinners which were just mediocre. value for meal is not good, but one is at The Breakers so everything will be overpriced as a given to start!
While The Breakers is a fabulous location and The Italian Restaurant looks nice and is fun to get to as you have to go outdoors and follow a lovely curved walkway surrounded by lush foliage, trees and a beautiful fountain, the food was not particularly good, was grossly overpriced and all the kids there simply were not conducive to an adult meal. And while our waiter was helpful, I was particularly upset that the hostess marked me as a "no show" even though I very clearly specified my reservations. Luckily I saw an email from OpenTable while I was still there which allowed me to ask them to correct their records.
Responded to Flavors of Palm Beach promo, restaurant is the Breakers Hotel, beautiful property. The restaurant is casual, pizza style, the other restaurants in the hotel are much more upscale and also the lounge area. Recommend trying the more upscale dining spots.
We have eaten here many times over the years, both with and without children in tow. We were so disappointed in our meals. The quality has gone down considerably. The Caesar salad had so much garlic it made me ill later. Mediterranean pasta was terrible - fried fish with a heavy red sauce. This is Italian food like you find in a mall, not a first class hotel.
My husband asked me to find a restaurant that would be fun for the kids but the dinner would still be adult foodie worthy. I thought not possible until we found this spot. The kids got all their energy out in arcade and playground while my husband and I had a cocktail, then dinner was fabulous.
We've been many times to The Italian Restaurant and it never disappoints. The children's food comes like lightening and then they are off to the arcade or playground. On this occasion we had 2 very handsome waiters (Alex and Joe?). My Mimi was in love! I had the pre fixed penne ala vodka which I dream about and Mimi had a wonderful veggie pizza. Super fun evening!
Dined at the Italian for the first time tonight with my love and was very satisfied with the food, service and ambience. Tanya was our server and exceeded our expectations with her hospitable and caring attitude. Always made sure our drinks were topped off and that we were being accommodated with the cuisine. Chef Varun and his culinary team do a great job at executing the simple yet elegant Italian menu. Excellent selection of wines that most other restaurants don't serve by the glass indigenous to the region, my favorite was the blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre which I believe is from the cotes du Rhone. It paired very well with acidity in the tomato sauce on my vegetable pizza and the creaminess of the burrata. Before our appetizers a selection of breads and spreads were brought to the table including focaccia, baguette, and some kind of sweet roll with pesto, sundried tomato spread and tradition Italian olive oil which were a great start. Ambiance was moderately quiet relaxed atmosphere, people need to understand that it is family friendly so many children dining but didn't bother us because it was expected. Definitely a must dining experience if you enjoy great Italian cuisine.
While the service was good (they tried) the ambiance was simply terrible. This restaurant is located in a family activity center at a resort...and you can tell. Our dinner was interrupted by the sounds of video games, air hockey and children running by unattended pretty much the entire time. After we requested to be seated in the lounge for more of an adult atmosphere, they seated a large family with three children...ambiance ruined. We should have expected more of a family atmosphere but the lounge? Are there no places for adults to enjoy a quiet meal together?Definitely not worth the $200+ we dropped for a fine Italian meal to be accompanied by the sounds of pin-ball and PAC-Man.
We celebrated a "milestone" birthday for my youngest sister at the Italian Restaurant. We had quite a few guests and lots of unique food issues in our large group. The location of our table, service, and accommodation by the staff was extraordinary. My sister was completely surprised, and even shed a few tears of joy. I cannot recommend this venue highly enough!
Our favorite place to take our family, especially the grandkids. The staff is friendly and courteous and the food is very good.
Elisa and Reagan worked the bar room and as always they do a fantastic job. We look forward to Saturday nights with the little ones (and they do to).
A primary glance into The Breakers, to begin, is divine. Not so subtly, the gorgeous club grew with luxuriousness and a rich atmosphere as my family and I walked to the Italian Restaurant for my birthday dinner. The hostess delightfully greeted us, and with attention, addressed my brother, who has a peanut and nut allergy, and assured him that he would be taken care of. Our waiter was so ever present and charming, with knowledge about each item on the menu to the extent as to how everything would be prepared, as well as a clever intellect to advise us with taste, textures, and flavors. Overall, the evening was splendid, and I would always recommend the Italian Restaurant for any occasion.
We had the best service ever. Our waitress Irene was amazing. She was great with our daughter and knew what to do without us having to even ask. I will always request her if she is available.
The food was prepared perfectly. I had the fillet and my wife had the penne ala vodka.
This place is great for kids as well, they can go play in the multiple play areas or game room while we finished eating our dinner.
Way overpriced for terrible food. $100 meal not as good as $10 chains. Makes Chef Boyardee seem like high table cuisine. Average age of clientele seemed about 7 years old. Would definitely take a taxi out of the hotel to get much less expensive but much better food for a family.
Great food. Cool indoors and very cozy outdoor dining. Seaparate bar is a good place to retreat from the crowds. Wine list is a little weak, but there are some good choices. Main dishes are outstanding and so are the deserted. Definitely try the $38 three course special.
We ordered the summer special menu. The portions are way too much for both of us, but the food were great and nice. The place is quiet and suitable for couple, family, or general dinning. The only thing to complain is the waiters are way too slow. We wait for 10 minutes to get our water re-fill and same as check out.
Probably the most overrated place I have been to. $28 for an less than average pasta. The place was not busy and we were seated by the kitchen where the noise level was high with mostly dishes and cutlery noises. The service was great but the food was mediocre. Would not come back!
