I had my birthday party here for 35 people everyone had a great time the set menu was awesome everyone loved their food. I would recommend this place to anyone as the staff was easy to work with. Prompt replies to my emails and made this process stress free.
We had come many times in the previous location and loved Italian kitchen - but this was a jarring and unpleasant change. It took 2 hours to be served. The service was terrible and rude. The food when it finally got here was not nearly as good as it used to be and was more expensive. We miss the old menu, the good customer service and the value. Won't be recommending any more :(
We went for my partner's birthday. We had wanted to try it for some time, so we were both looking forward to our dinner. The ambiance was very nice--not too formal, but great to get dressed up for!
Service was very good, our server was knowledgeable, with just the right balance of attentiveness.
The wine list is extensive with a broad range of blends and prices.
The food was amazing! We shared a meal of Ribeye, roasted Brussels sprouts, pasta and salad. Delicious!
When we had to change tables due to a seating error, we were more than compensated for that minor issue.
All in all a memorable meal and evening.
Looking forward to our next experience.
Usually the food is great here but this time I ordered the gnocchi and the sauce was like a soup. I’d recommend ordering something different. At $23 it was a bit disappointing.
My last experience at Italian Kitchen was very good, but this time it was just good. Food was good but not outstanding - the amount of burrata that came with the appetizer was quite small, and the gnocchi was not as good as the pasta dishes I've had there previously (the truffle spaghetti is great). The service was not overly friendly and pretty slow.
Disappointed with the food options present. My food options are limited to Vegetarian and chicken options. Unfortunately none of the preps were good.
Excellent service and pasta at fair prices.
We went for dinner with our kids
The food was great as was the service. The atmosphere was excellent as well
Delicious food and great service , pre symphony dinner with friends ... convenient to Orpheum
Felt like we were relegated to the kid zone tho.. up stairs by the kitchen, with lots of kids at other tables.
Ask for window or main room seats .
Our family visited Italian Kitchen on our last night of vacation and we had a great meal. The food was excellent and the service from our server, Brienne was even better. She was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.
We went for dinner during the week at 5:30. Staff is friendly and the food is what you'd expect down town (fairly expensive but in line with what you'd expect ). The food was nothing special. I had the seafood linguine which was kind of tasteless.
The atmosphere.... not great. WAY too noisy. Had trouble hearing the people across the table from me most of the time. Probably because they crammed too many tables in there or maybe they need some noise cancelling features on the ceiling... who knows.
I didn't check any of the options above as it really was nothing to rave about.
The food was not upto level.... We being completely vegetarians ordered something and informed clearly that we are vegetarians and the waiter took note of it. In our dish I felt something not edible/ chew-able so i removed from my mouth and asked the waiter what was it. He dint know what it was and so he asked a bunch of other staff about it and the manager came and told us " Its nothing to worry, It was the outer layer of an onion." Hell no, Firstly I know how an outer layer of onion looks like, To me it looked like some bone sort of plastic thing which i couldn't chew . Secondly I was so freaked out by the thought that maybe it was a bone in my mouth... they dint accept their fault nor made any customer satisfaction attempts. I walked out of the place half hungry and completely disappointed and a ruined evening.
The new location is a bit more upscale than the original spot.
The food is excellent as is the service. We enjoyed our dinner. It was a bit of a splurge for our family but worth it. If you love Italian food then give the Italian Kitchen try.
The relocated and refreshed Italian Kitchen has a menu that is "90% new" (according to our server). We used to love this spot for great food, good variety, a busy atmosphere and a kid-friendly dining menu/location. The new location and menu are catered to fine dining, with a limited menu with unique choices (the bruchetta is a bean spread, not a traditional Italian bruchetta). Our meals were okay, but nothing to rave about and certainly not worth the price. The servers were helpful and kind, however the overall service was a bit hit and miss.
I took a girlfriend recently to celebrate her birthday, and we really enjoyed the evening. The new restaurant has a lovely ambience. We especially appreciate the white table cloths which adds a touch of class, making it feel less casual. The bar looks fabulous!
I loved my Cornish game and my friend enjoyed her spaghetti and meatballs. We shared a beet salad before our entrées and the tiramisus for dessert. Both were lovely.
The service was friendly and efficient. The waitress handled the sharing really well.
Great food, great service and awesome whiskey sours!
Great dinner with an wonderful server Jeffery. Food was delicious! We will be back.
Not very good service
First time at the new location. Same good service and food as before. Thanks. We will be back!
The service was excellent. The food was really good. The only thing was the olive oil and bread was a bit bitter but it's complimentary so no complain there. Overall it was a fun and cozy atmosphere!
i thought everything was fine. nothing really stands out in particular. it's solid Italian food and solid service. check it out!
The burrata appy was so amazing. The atmosphere is beautiful. It was my birthday and the waitress brought me a massive slice of tiramisu which was probably the best tiramisu I’ve ever had. They also had happy birthday written on the plate in Chocolate. 10/10 would go again.
We sat outside and were the only people on the patio - it was lovely. The noise level inside is a bit intimidating. Food is very good; the brussell sprouts are a perennial favourite. Our waiter was fabulous and with a good sense of humour.
We had such a disappointing experience. The food was not good, and the service was so poor it became laughable.
Food was better before when Italian kitchen was on Alberni say years back no tobasco sauce sucks was looking forward to the food but was disappointed.
Sorry for the harsh review.
DELICIOUS FOOD IN A BEAUTIFUL SPACE RIGHT BY A PAY PARKING GARAGE.
WE RESERVED TO CELEBRATE A FRIEND'S BIRTHDAY BUT NO DESSERTS WERE OFFERED, WE ORDERED A DELICIOUS ONE FROM THE MENU. THEY DID WRITE WISHES IN CHOCOLATE ON THE PLATE AND ADDED A CANDLE. VERY FRIENDLY.
I would recommend this restaurant as better than average. The staff was very pleasant/friendly. The new location is pleasant. I was a little disappointed with the menu. I am a person who appreciates traditional food, (one might say old style or even basic). I believe this restaurant embraces an avant garde philosophy as each item on the menu had an element I was not familiar with. Our food was good, tasty but not delicious.
We received exceptional service from our waitress. She was very accommodating to our 2 year old. I will return!
Extremely expensive for lunch. Don’t like new location as much as Alberni
We were sat next to the kitchen entrance which was very distracting/noisy, our server disappeared and our food was disappointing, other than the bison carpaccio which was delicious. Still wouldn't rush back.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Sat and had dinner at the bar. Bartender very attentive. Menu great (Bison Carpaccio amazing) Atmosphere energetic and fun. Hardly wait to go back.
A lot better than the old Italian Kitchen- more room.
Server was fabulous- very friendly- looked after Every need without being intrusive- definitely a “go back to”
We were met at the door immediately and seated just as quickly. Our waiter, Benjamin, was personable and very professional. One colleague is celiac and her dietary requirements were accommodated to her complete satisfaction.
Great waiter, great food. Best calamari in the world!
Please change or dust the horrid chandeliers in front dining area. Liked the ambience in old location better but it’s the food/service that counts and I give 5 stars for this. The rack of lamb leaves you speechless.
Great food & drinks! Even better staff. Loved it so much we ate here twice for dinner out of the 3 nights we were in town.
Overall good. For the price food was fair. Was a birthday dinner and without mentioning it waiter brought over a desert with happy birthday written in chocolate. Very nice touch.
New location is outstanding. Great feel to it. Menu is smaller but very good. Many different than the usual items on it. Service was great.
Waiter was amazing so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious but very small portions for the value! I love this place but some of the tables are super crapped trying to fit in as many tables as possible with the space given. Where we sat just up the stairs they should have 2 tables along the wall not 3 as it was not the most comfortable it was quite tight and squishy.
The food was delicious, but the portions were quite small. There was about 15-20 pieces of pasta, no joke you could count it, and the veal was delicious but would have been nice to have a larger side eg more veggies that are not soaked in the cheese at the bottom but on the side ,
Def recommend this restaurant and next time will stick to the spaghetti and meatballs because you can never go wrong, it’s filling, and a larger portion. this is still one of my fav places. Just what happens when you try new things on the menu :)
The temperature in the room was cold as was the bread served to us. The food was only so-so.
