Italian Kitchen - Vancouver Ratings and Reviews
The pasta is made fresh every day and it’s incredible! Now the best part to me is going to an Italian restaurant and learning that the chefs are ACTUALLY ITALIAN- How refreshing is that!
The ambience is beautiful, cozy and romantic.
The price is very reasonable considering it’s a little hot spot right in the heart of Vancouver city.
Overall since they moved from their Alberni st. Location it’s improved 100%. If you haven’t been yet , I would recommend going. It’s not just good food, but it will leave you full and satisfied! Enjoy
Outstanding pastas and seafood. The Calamari is large enough for two and perfectly prepared and the seafood salad is quite reasonable for the contents of large prawns (2) and scallops (2). Also try the Amatriciana pasta made with ground chicken. Quite spicy but very delicious. Highly recommended.
I brought my boyfriend here for his birthday and he loved it. The service was friendly, attentive and quick. Thank you for helping set up a surprise birthday cake. My only comment would be to have more sauce or additional flavour to the torchio alle verdure, or add another vegetarian pasta dish. The Brussel sprouts were delicious!
The main criteria to critic an Italian restaurant would be to rate the pasta they serve.
The Italian Kitchen's Pasta Carbanera was the worst we ever had, which was unfortunate because the room was very nice and the service was very good. We also had the Osso Bucco which was tasty but a little overcooked.
We went as part of the Dine Out Festival. It was fabulous! The Osso Buco was to die for, and the risotto it was served on was perfection. The service was great - attentive but not too attentive - and the place had a lively, fun atmosphere. This was our first visit, but we'll be back for sure!
We use to go to Fancesco’s Which had existed in Italian Kitchens current location. We were saddened by the closing of Francesco but had heard from a friend to give Italian Kitchen a try. The ambience of Italian Kitchen is far different from Francesco’s but it was a nice change. Overall our experience was positive and we plan to go to Italian Kitchen again.
I was very disappointed with the food. My last experience was at your previous location and it was way better in all aspects. Also the place was over crowded and super loud and the service was slow. I am unlikely to ever dine again at the Italian Kitchen. On the up side the new place looks better. I was impressed with the wine selection but that's about it.
Was here 5-6 years ago before they moved location. The service and atmosphere is spectacular same as before. The food has gone downhill I'm my opinion, is still an upper class restaurant but the quality is less than I remember and less than other similar places. (I did order the dine out Vancouver which I've never tried at any establishment before. They may be using cheaper ingredients for the cheaper prices.)
The service was wonderful. Staff are friendly and fun The new location is beautiful and stylish. The food is only OK, I wasn't impressed with it. I thought it was good but nothing special. I was very disappointed in the menu for dine out Vancouver and the menu choices. i don't know that I would go back to this restaurant.
We went for an 8:45 reservation and didn't end up leaving until close to 11:30. The service was extremely slow even though it wasn't very busy. I would not pick this location if you are in a hurry. It may be that they are still trying to get the post-move kinks out but even with dine-out in effect (we didn't order off the dine-out menu) the food and drinks took forever to come. I had to remind the server about an espresso and by the time I got it, it was cold. For dinner we ordered the full rack of lamb and requested medium. It was well done and unfortunately ruined the lamb. I shouldn't have to complain when they pre-slice the lamb and it's obviously way overdone. That was the most disappointing part. Other than that, all the pasta was fantastic as usual and so were the desserts. I'll wait a while before going back.
We unfortunately chose the first night of dine out Vancouver for dinner here.
I had been before and it was much quieter and I think less tables close together.
Food was excellent and service (Erica) was professional and exceptional.
Would return again, just not during dine out...
Service was fantastic. We didn't like our Antipasti selection and this was graciously changed at free of charge to a appetizer selection our server felt we would love. Definitely the emphasis is on serving phenomenal food and they prioritize service and quality. Would definitely go back.
The only issue was that my Fennel Pollen Casoncelli (duck confit) was a bit too salty.
I don't care though, i'm going back as often as i can because i love this place. plus i got a great wine recommendation :) :)
The new location is superb. The service staff was prompt and friendly. The food was fantastic as usual. Unfortunately the hostess was not helpful at the end of the night. After retrieving my coat she just handed it to me instead of offering to help put it on. It was sort of rude as she was not busy with other customers. Other than that little blimp, it was a wonderful night.
