The Place is cozy and the service was friendly. The Food was very good, Pasta was Fresh and tasty, my son loved it! i have to come back for the Pizza, i saw one at the next table, it looked so delicious!!!!! Lo recomiendo 😉
First visit will not be my last. Greeted at the door and welcomed to our table with warm smiles and friendly manner. Timing was excellent between courses and food was delicious. Thanks for the start to a wonderful evening!
The staff and food were great. My partner is on a low carb diet, and despite being an Italian/pizza focused restaurant they accommodated with a wonderful steak and broccoli option (while I still got my past fix). I had the house made pappardelle with porcini mushrooms and truffle cream sauce. Also, the wine is very reasonably price. Great place to go for a nice meal out that won't break the bank.
Found this on open table and so glad my family made the trek from UES to UWS. Lovely ambiance, wonderful and friendly staff, delicious food! Homemade desserts were icing on the cake for a great meal. Can’t wait to go back.
Very accommodating with my large party at the last minute and food was delicious.
Will definitely go back.
The food and wine list were Pedestrian and lackluster. There are a lot better places on the Upper West Side.
A delicious dinner with my daughter and her roommate. All 4 of us had different pastas for our entrees, and all 4 completely enjoyed ours meals.
I chose it because of location and price, wanting to try out something new. We had two appetisers, the asparagus one was not very good but the salad special was. When listing the specials, the waiter didn't tell us prices, so unfortunately we picked one that was expensive (spinach noodles with shrimp) and which wasn't very flavorful as well. No bread was brought to the table also. We were not impressed.
Isola was great for the kids; no TVs and they sat us right by the chef making the pizzas at the pizza oven, and they loved that. The pizza w pepperoni and the fettuccine w bolognese sauce were both amazing.
Wonderful Italian food and amazing pizza. The fried artichokes taste just like my grandmother's in Calabria.
Excellent salad, bread and spaghetti. Would recommend!
Late night pizza - was good!
This was the third time that I've eaten there. The food is great as is the service. Will definitely go again.
We got there at 7:45 for our 8 o’clock reservation, and there weren’t many other guests. We were seated and taken care of all night, service was prompt. Food was good, nothing out of the ordinary, but worth a return trip.
Food so so. Service lackluster. Only reason to go here is for a 1000 pt table.
We are always happy with this place. Friendly service, house wine, outdoor seating, which is great for our kids when we go for early dinner with them. All of the food is good, but definitely get at least one pizza. My favorite is prosciutto.
Pleasant surprise we ate outside on a Friday. Great value and the mushroom noodle dish was outstanding. Great Value very good service I will be back
Isola is reliable, reliable, reliable.
We have ordered most of the items on the menu over the years and have never been disappointed. We are careful, however, to ask that any pizza is left a little extra time in the brick oven for a crispy crust. On a recent evening, we ordered all three specials: wonderfully smoky grilled calamari followed by pepper-crusted tuna over abundant spinach in red wine reduction and fettuccine with shrimp and vegetables. All winners. The service was friendly and attentive, as it always has been.
We came on a Monday evening so there were very few people there, and the wait staff was very nice and attentive. Food was good, we liked the ambiance. A pretty good value for the money.
Isola is a great find. The food was delicious and the menu offers a lot of variety. The servers were courteous and friendly. We loved our meal and will definitely return.
I was impressed by the quality of food. The service was on the other hand, underwhelming.
Finally a place that makes pizza just like what you would get in Northern Italy!
I can't wait to go back and taste the rest of the menu!
If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd be here all the time. It would become my "I-don't-want-to-cook-let's-go-to-Isola-and-share-some-pasta" home away from home. The food was better than some we had in Italy last year, which either means we hit some duds on our trip or Isola is just really good. My only, tiny complaint is about the tomato in the caprese salad: kind of a common American tomato instead of the lovely tomato the rest of the meal deserved. Otherwise, super!
The food was very good as was the service. We'll come again.
Great pizza and brunch options. The host and our server were extremely friendly and helpful. This is the perfect neighborhood gem.
We have always had an amazing evening at this place. Good for celebrations, dates or a quick bite. Pizza is one of the best in the area by far and owners are very kind and accommodating
Excellent - our second visit in a month and it Did Not Disappoint. Wonderful food + service. Elegant and tasty Italy on the upper west side. Go see for yourself!
I typically order in from Isola. This was my first time dining in at the restaurant. We went for a last minute birthday celebration. The food is delicious whether dining in or out. The staff was very accommodating during our meal at the restaurant. There are no major frills about the restaurant or its ambiance. This is simply a great place if you want a great meal and an easy dining experience.
This authentic Italian restaurant is a hidden neighborhood gem. I wish more people knew about it and would give it a try. Good pizzas, fish, and pasta. Excellent wine.
Great Italian cuisine at affordable prices. I had linguine wtih clam sauce for lunch and it was only $12.
A wonderful date night spot! Would definitely come back when visiting NYC.
food was good but, not exceptional. pleasant environment and service. no real complaints, just a little above average dining experience.
A very special place with friendly staff, great food and a relaxed atmosphere. I have brought out of town guest here the two times I have eaten there and they all have thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Great local place to call your own.
This was a special find. The food was fabulous, the ambiance perfect for a nice relaxing dinner with friends. It was so nice to be treated well by the staff and the owner. I would recommend this spot in this great up and coming neighborhood. I will absolutely visit it again.
The freshly made ribbon pasta was delicious and risotto special was amazing. Next time we'll have to try the pizza from the wood oven. This was our second time at Isola and it never disappoints.
New Years Eve early meal. Used to go to the place all the time when it was further downtown. Menu was good, lots of choices. We will definitely go back again.
Our meals were delicious, the service was great, and the price was outstanding. I plan to return.
Really great for a local spot. Price and taste are low and high for the hood. We were treated well.
I've eaten at Isola several times over the last few years. The food has been reliably inconsistent. Specials are sometimes fabulous, others just OK. Regular dishes are sometimes fabulous, others so-so. Cooks come and go, I think, is the problem. But this time the special octopus appetizer ($18) was almost inedibly tough and the special risotto with spicy salsiccia was blah. On top of that, when I brought a bottle of wine from home I was charged a $15 corkage fee.
Dined for the first time at isola and was pleased with everything my husband and I ordered from the homemade mozzarella in the caprese and fried artichoke to the entrees we shared - gnocchi and spinach and cheese ravioli in sage butter sauce. Also recommend the Nutella crepe for dessert. Only disappointment was the focaccia and chickpea hummus spread served as the bread. The bread was too dense and would have preferred good evoo instead of the chickpea hummus. But overall enjoyed my meal there and plan to return.
