Amazing food, great service - kept the kids busy and entertained! We had a great time at Easter brunch!
Easter brunch
We stayed at Sapphire Falls next door where every meal was delicious. We decided to venture to the Royal Pacific for dinner one night. We were extremely disappointed by the quality of food. The dining room was sparse and I can see why. We ordered the Wok Buffet. It came with stir fried veggies and your choice of sauces and meat. There was also an unimpressive salad bar, soup and dessert. The soup was almost inedible, tasteless and watered down. My wok stir fried shrimp tasted mushy and the sauces were poorly flavored. I’ve had better Chinese takeout from a hole in a wall. It all tasted like the equivalent of a bad frozen meal.
Yikes. Food was terrible. Only a few choices on the menu.
We really enjoyed the food at Islands but the ambience was really lacking. The room felt very empty and dated. The calamari appetizer was delicious. The chicken curry was yummy and spicy.
The food was delicious. However, we were looking forward to a lovely leisurely vacation dinner but, our server, Casey, rushed us through our meal and didn’t even offer us dessert. Experience was quite a disappointment and underwhelming. Besides our server; everyone else was so kind and accommodating.
The menu offered a large array of amazing sounding foods that proved just as awesome when eating. The staff was so nice and fun making the experience great!!! We ordered the cheese burger kids meal, Korean BBQ steak, and ahi tuna...all perfect!
Islands shares a kitchen with Jakes bar and grille and you can order of either menu. The buffalo chicken pizza was delicious.
Quiet relaxing atmosphere with good service. Recommend the nights when they have wok station.
Liked the wok experience but it was overpriced for what you got—mainly noodles or rice. Soup, salad and dessert was included, but I don’t think they chaotje desserts while we were there— very very dry cake? Wasn’t labeled so I’m not sure what kind of cake it was. You don’t need a reservation and I’d skip it
Friendly wait staff added to enjoyment of the meal.
Great environment. The cooks were these lovely Philippine young ladies. They were very personable and friendly.
We were there for the wok stir fry buffet. The 2 young ladies cooking did an excellent job. It wad One of the best Asian meals we ever had.
The restaurant was not busy, but our food took over an hour! Horrible service!
Loved the variety of food dishes. Everything I tried was excellent.
Food was all cold coming out and not very tasty was very disappointed
I really regret testing the so called wok experience. It's not so nice to pay a lot of many for standing in a long line through the whole dinner. And the food didn't taste vary well.
Had a buffet for New Year Eve. Food was cold. The restaurant felt like cafeteria. It was a good place for children but not for a date. It was too brightly lit and loud and echoed
Over 5 hundred dollars for 2 adults and 4 kids buffet dinner. Too much for standard buffet food even on New Years year.
New Years Eve Buffet was awesome!
Sunday morning character breakfast was great! Several characters that came to our table for pictures, food was excellent, and so was our waiter.
Service was good, food was good but was not expecting the price. Don’t feel the price fit the food.
We too our kids there during our vacation. The food was phenomenal. They cooked our meals directly in front of us at the wok station. My husband had the ahi tuna and they were huge and delicious. Service was wonderful and they have a room the kids can hang out in after they are finished.
Horrible food, they forgot a kids dinner and service was slow and uneven
The food is awful. I've been to Chinese food buffets that were much cheaper and much better. The menu sounded good. The crab legs were cold and soaking wet, it was like eating water. There was no dish that was done correctly and I would want to eat. Sushi was very poor. I could make better sushi at home, and that's sad. Publix has better sushi. Only had 4-5 selections. NO nigiri, especially for the price paid. DO NOT Go here, it is a waste of your money and time. I'm not being mean to the people, nor to the venue, just expected better. I have had better food on a cruise ship, and that's a pretty low standard as well. I thought Royal Pacific Loews, would have produced a better food quality, edible.. We got duped.
Christmas Day Buffet
Amazing food, awesome atmosphere, Outstanding service, surprising entertainment.
We had a WONDERFUL character breakfast on Christmas day. Not your typical bacon and eggs. A unique spread of entrees when ordering the buffet. MANY characters came out to take photos with us. Memorable experience.
My daughter and I were treated to amazing service, great waitstaff, and fresh and delicious food preparations. We ordered from the menu rather than going to the stir fry buffet. The red chicken curry was full of flavor, not too spicy hot, and the chicken teriyaki was also great. Nice portions, just right for us. There was a coupon for a free glass of wine in the universal coupon book, and it was nice quality. It was quiet the night we were there, but the space is large and could be noisy if crowded. We would return again in the future.
Love the character buffet
Booked thinking restaurant would be crowded for the character dinning, which it wasn’t and that was awesome. My son got to spend great time with the despicable me characters. The wok experience was not so great. Smelled good as they prepared it but tasted awful at the table. I actually had to finish eating my sons kid pizza to fulfil my hunger. Even the miso soup was not pleasing. Deserts were tiny and not worth the money. We were ignored a few times by our server and he only had 2 tables. I had better experience the next night at Jakes American bar and grill. Scooby doo came to visit us there, it was busier, more family like environment. Islands was too quiet and now I know why.
Character breakfast buffett on Sunday was amazing! A bit prizy at $27 per person for breakfast. Great breakfast selections, fresh fruits, cooking island, hot items, sweets, all excellent! Plenty of characters going around the tables at all times! Our waiters Nora was always pending on our needs providing an excellent service! Will recommend!
Good for the characters
We had breakfast here on our last morning at the resort and it was great. Relaxed and we enjoyed the characters as well. We were not super hungry so ordering off the menu verses the buffet worked well for us.
We reserved online at Open Table and reserved with the price listed as $43 and $17. We were shocked to find the thanksgiving brunch was $58 and $29 as there was absolutely no pricing listed for
That. For that price, we wouldn’t have gone. We had a wonderful time until we received the bill.
I wish I could complement this restaurant as the hotel is so amazing but the restaurant really needs a manger to stand at the front and watch what is going on. Many people were turned away even thought the restaurant was empty. We had reservations but still waited a long time. The waiters kept apologizing for the hostess. The menu is well designed and the wait staff is well trained. It is just things do not run smoothly and this is where having the manager observe the problems could really help . For me it was a disappointing experience. I am really hoping a few changes will make the experience positive for every customer. This restaurant does have the potential so I will give it a second try.
Very friendly to family who has gluten allergy. Kids had a very good time meeting all
The characters for breakfast on Sunday morning. A great dining experience.
Was great, my nephew enjoyed every moment with the characters
Great food and great service. They squeezed us in at their last available slot at 9pm and the service was great!
We reserved this restaurant because it was listed as a Character Experience for Universal Resorts. We were very disappointed that there was only 1 character (Scooby Doo) - coming from being Disney Annual Passholders where Disney Character Experiences have at least 4 characters.
The food was very expensive for fair quality. I had the seared ahi tuna which was cut in huge chunks, rather than thin slices and was served on "black" rice - which was mysteriously black, certainly not a squid ink rice, and very dry.
My husband had a rib-eye steak which was 'fine' but at $35 it should be very good. It certainly didn't meet our expectations for a restaurant housed in a Loews resort
