Delightful Sunday morning breakfast on the patio. Great service & great meal.
Excellent menu and well-prepared cuisine. Attention to every little detail. Highly recommend!
Isa's Bistro is a nice place, but I found the "French" part to be a bit stretched. There weren't that many items on the menu that I identify with French cuisine. But, the food was still very good. I will go back.
Second rate all around, especially disappointing given how many great restaurants there are in Asheville.
Delicious sprouts and meat and cheese tray. Entrees very good. Waiter got one entree wrong and comped us a dessert. All was great!!!
They were out of a lot of the dinner entrees and bud light. We ended up leaving and going elsewhere. We had vouchers for breakfast from our hotel and it was just as disappointing. Waited a while for someone to notice we were standing there to be seated. Waiter walked around for 10 minutes with our order in his pocket while he cleaned the patio. After finally getting our food we had to hunt someone down for syrup and ketchup.
This second visit was a bit disappointing. It was an early Sunday evening as opposed to a Saturday night. Service was slow even though the restaurant was almost empty and the changes to the menu left fewer choices than earlier in the year. We just had entrees and they were all good. Our vegan guest was very happy with her Vegan sausage entree so that made up for the lack luster other options
All four of us really enjoyed our meals. Our waiter, Craig, was excellent. Very knowledgeable about the food and wines.
Not rushed, but not forgotten.
It was an amazing experience. The food tastes were delicious. I had the scallops which were tender and great against the pasta and craisins.
We went there for brunch because we wanted to hear a gypsy jazz band which was playing that Sunday. The band was fun, the food (pancake plate) was delicious, service quick and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. Several large groups were more interested in talking loudly than listening, but we we seated at a table far enough away from the groups but close enough to hear the music.
We sat at an outside table, and inside there were very few diners. The maitre d' got us menus. We then waited 15 minutes while the two outside servers went past us three times each, without checking in with us, taking drink orders, bringing silverware or even telling us they would be with us soon. So we left. Our review of the food is likely not accurate, but in order to leave a review, some rating is necessary.
Excellent food. Excellent service (Craig), excellent ambiance. Highly recommend.
Everything was very nice. Menu was a bit limited, but the chef cheerfully altered a recipe to suit my dietary needs.
We had met a friend and her husband whom we hadn't seen in years. We had wonderful food and service and were not rushed at all!!
Delicious chicken pate, caesar salad with fish roe, and planked salmon.
Isa's Bistro is fantastic. The food was outstanding and our server, Craig, was one of the best servers we've ever had. He was knowledgeable, personable, and very helpful with food descriptions. We will definitely be back!
We had a table of 6 and the noise level was so loud that couldn't carry on a conversation. Very disappointing. Food was good but the noise level ruined our mothers day lunch.
We eat here for a quality breakfast in a nice setting at a fair price, especially considering the remarkable price inflation currently across Asheville.
Amazing service and absolutely delicious meal!
The chef was heavy-handed with salt. Though I love salmon, I couldn't finish it. The only chicken option was with a creamy sauce. When my husband received his, he struggled to cut into the chicken and wound up returning it and just having his salad for his dinner. At one time I had a wonderful salad as my main course, but it is no longer on the menu. Overall, as you can see, we were quite disappointed.
The brunch menu was amazing, great price and the food was spectacular. We also enjoyed the mimosa flights (lavender lemonade was by far the best). Great service and ambiance.
Every course of our meal was Devine and there was a wonderful wine selection (the pessimist) bottle of Syrah was fantastic. The Brussels sprouts on the appetizer menu were by far the best I’ve ever had! Excellent service as well.
Every time we go there the service, food and drinks are excellent. It’s quiet and a great location.
The selection of food for brunch is amazing. And the interior at Isa’s is welcoming and comfortable.
Four of us had a delightful meal, very professionally served, and fairly priced. I had the “hash skillet” which was a wonderful medley of crispy potato hash, bacon, sausage, sliced cherry peppers, scrambled eggs, and sausage gravy; not understanding that all the ingredients would be tossed together, I asked for my sausage gravy on the side; actually, this was a good move because there would have been (in my opinion) too much gravy. My husband had the French onion soup and said it was delicious; he also had a big salad. A friend really enjoyed the double bistro burger, and another friend proclaimed the eggs Benedict delicious.
We had two problems, neither of which was really bad. The valet wasn’t at his appointed spot (meaning outside); this has happened before at Isa’s; yes, supposedly one can go inside and fetch the valet, but this isn’t really how it should work. Also, there was a duet playing and singing; even though they were excellent, we sat as far away from them as possible to be able to hold a conversation.
Excellent meal, outstanding service! Dinner and cocktails were divine. Will be back!
Craig, our server, made sure that everything was perfect during our visit (raining cats and dogs outside)! The food was amazing! The soups were greats. My husband had the French onion and I had the daily special, a potato soup. Both were great. We also ordered the mushrooms and escargot from the starters menu - AWESOME!!!
We enjoyed our dinner at Isa's very much. The French Onion soup , Sal.on and chocolate pot brulee were delicious.Service and smbiance excellent!
Loved the food and the atmosphere!
Dinner on my own while my wife was doing an ultramarathon. The brussel sprouts appetizer is outstanding with good amount blue cheese - a nice way to start the evening. The scallops in the entree were perfectly cooked and the pasta accompaniment was very flavorful as well. The waiter was attentive and knowledgeable and the pacing about perfect.
service was just a little slow, my group was on a schedule, other than that , nice lunch
We had a great experience, the wait staff was wonderful, really knew the menu and offered good recommendations.
Great food and service. Would definitely go back again.
Nice enjoyed our meals and service.
Had lunch here based on reviews. It was empty on a Thursday noon. We split a brisket sandwich and had French onion soup. Both were OK but nothing special.
We were late arriving due to parking and traffic but still greeted warmly.
Delicious salmon and roast beef entrees. Pear and arugula salad was very good. Desserts: apple pie and flan, very good and we were surprised with the size of the servings. They were larger than expected. The last dessert I had here was the cheesecake which was only a sliver. It would have been nice to have a larger portion of the mashed potatoes that were a side for the roast beef.
Our server was excellent. She checked in frequently enough without being overbearing about it. She also swiftly replaced the pear salad when it was brought with dressing on it rather than on the side. Our first cup of coffee was not hot but when we told her about this she brought two piping hot small carafes of coffee.
The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing: a good place for delicious food and easy conversation.
Waiter recommended the French Onions soup, was low on flavor, they used a blow torch to melt the cheese which left small burnt black spots that ruined the cheese on top, the bread was super hard even after soaking in the broth. Got the pork for the main course was a little dry but other than that ok, my friend got the hanger steak, very small portion and didn’t finish. The waiter called me bro twice (unacceptable for a fine dinning establishment), he was asked a few questions and would answer while walking away, very underwhelming for the price point.
We had not been back to Isa's for about 8 or more months. We were pleasantly surprised by the new interior - nice and warm!
The menu was also redone and we loved it! It is a bit smaller than the old one but the choices are perfect. A little bit of everything for everyone. The appetizer of porcini stuffed mushrooms with truffles was excellent! I only wish it were baked instead of deep fried, but chef knows best! We loved the ability to split each course between the two of us and didn't encounter any hesitation from our adorable waitperson, Deja. She is a true gem, just the right combo of professional and friendly.
We can't wait to go back!
There were 6 of us for dinner. With wine and food, we spent over $300. Three of us had pasta dishes with sauce. They did not provide us with any bread with our meal. The pasta dishes had strips of beef in it. The beef was chewy. My wife ordered the scallops dish that cost $32. She only got 3 scallops. They were sea scallops bu not real big scallops. I thought that price for what she got was very high. It was our fault for not asking how many scallops came with the meal.
The Isa's salad was delicious and I shared it with my wife. It was $13 for the salad which was high.
None of us received bread with our meal. Five of us had French onion soup which was also delicious.
The service was great.
Delicious wild caught Patagonian salmon cooked to perfection on cedar plank. The salmon size was perfect however the one side of roasted asparagus was a bit sparse. The pumpkin cheesecake was delicious but the size was quite small.
