Isabella's Italian Trattoria Ratings and Reviews
This was my first visit and it won”t be my last. Friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff. Excellent food. We were there for lunch so it was a limited menu but choices were adequate for a nice business lunch. I had the Tomato basil pasta with a dried fig salad. My guest had a root soup and the dried fig salad. It was nice to be able to enjoy a quiet conversation in a very nice atmosphere.
Everything we ordered was excellent! We are from out of town and have come back several times over the years. They have delivered a consistent, high-level experience each time. We will come back again. Delicious, creative offerings and locally sourced beers.
We were staying in Lynchburg for our 15th anniversary, and Isabella's came recommended by family and the internet. We decided to make it our "big" dinner of the weekend, and we're so glad we did. Every staff member that interacted with us was aware of our special occasion, and they treated us wonderfully. The food was outstanding. My wife asked about an item that was on the internet menu, but not on the menu in-house, and they made it for her anyhow. She loved it (Shrimp Aglio). I had their Homemade Sausage Pasta, which is basically a traditional penne vodka, only with house-made sausage (made from local pork), and baked with cheese. It was stupendous. We also tried the fried risotto balls to start, and for dessert, we had the house-made pecan pie (my wife said it was out of this world) and the tiramisu (not house-made, but still delicious).
We're hoping to make this trip to Lynchburg a yearly occasion from here on out, and if we do, Isabella's will be on our itinerary every time.
Very good food, portion sizes, variety, service, atmosphere, etc. Took a group for lunch, and there was a good selection for all tastes and diets. All the food was fresh and there was a gracious plenty on each plate. We also had excellent service. Highly recommend Isabella's!
While I loved the area I was dinning in and absolutely loved the nice older lady serving us. However the food didn't catch my attention it was ok plated beautifully it tasted a lot like microwaved food mybe I just didn't get crop of the pick but the chicken I had was slightly tough and lacking in flavor for a chicken parmesan, but the noodles and bread were awesome just feel for the 16$ I payed for it I could have definitely made it better at home. My girlfriend didn't like her food that much ethier I not sure why but she said she disliked the cheese in her basil tomato pasta but then again she's really picky and I should base a review off that. I'll definitely be trying you guys again though becuase I love the ambiance and don't want to believe that was the A game food.
Our experience Sat. night was not as positive as in the past. The service was very slow. One person in my party ordered the snapper. It was dry and rubbery.
We were told that there was a party of 50 and that's why things were slow. If the business can seat that many, then they should be able to serve that many in a reasonable time.
My husband and I were from out of town, staying in Lynchburg for two nights. We found this gem of a place by Googling "Best dinner restaurant in Lynchburg" and we were not disappointed (even though it was a bit of a drive through a really lovely neighborhood from our historic old town B&B). We loved that we had the choice to dine on the patio or inside at a cozy, quiet table where we could have a nice quiet conversation ( a rarity these days). They let us split the main course and the salad, so it was just the right amount of food for us (given we had no way to take left-overs home) and absolutely delicious. Our Waiter was charming and friendly, always right there when we wanted him , but not overly intrusive. We will definitely go here again net time we are in town.
