Isabella's - Frederick Ratings and Reviews
The service and food were amazing. We arrived shortly before our reservation time and were seated promptly. I'm a big fan of the tapas/small plate concept because you can try a bunch of different items if you wish. Nothing we ordered disappointed. Everything was delicious. They have a variety of meat, seafood and vegetable options so there seemed to be choices for most people.
If you are a fan of chorizo then be sure to try all the chorizo dishes (I had 3 different ones). You won't regret it.
We had so much fun eating at Isabella’s. Our server was delightful. The food was wonderful, and the ambiance was great. Isabella’s is one of my favorite places to go to for lunch, dinner or happy hour. I am always happy when I chose to go to Isabella’s for any occasion!
We came for my wife’s birthday and had her family visiting from Puerto Rico waiting in surprise in the back of the restaurant. The host staff did an amazing job of keeping the surprise as well as filming with one of our cameras. Overall, this was above and beyond what we could’ve expected and it set the stage for a great dining experience.
As usual, food was top notch, if a little pricey. Service was very poor - we were essentially ignored, and it wasn’t because they were understaffed. We also weren’t the only ones, and at least one couple walked out. I recommend sitting at the bar instead of a table - service was great the last time we did that.
Love Isabella’s! The food is excellent, the choices are varied and the service was excellent! We were there on a very busy Saturday. We were seated immediately despite being early for our reservation. Over 2 hours later we were still there. Never did we feel rushed or hurried. We ate and drank at our own pace, the food was delivered at perfect intervals. A must if you’re in Frederick!
We went to Isabellas for our 11 year dating anniversary. The hostess seated us at a small cramped table against the wall. I requested a booth, she said they were all taken. several booths appeared empty the whole time. I have been to this restaurant several times. Both visits they served the tapas after the entree. The service lacks. The food is great. I just wish the service was more organized. I was also told my omlet came with an english muffin or toast, then I was charged separately for the english muffin. I was very disappointed that
I informed them when the reservation was made that this was my anniversary, but nothing was complimentary no discounts were applied to the check, AND I WAS OVER CHARGED!!!! I was embarassed that Id choosen so poorly for an anniversary meal. I might dine here again, but I will not recommend this place for a special occasion or an anniversary. Choose a different restaurant!!!!!
We had the spinach, mushroom, and mahi mahi tapas and the Dorado special. All were very good, especially the Dorado.
It was a bit loud were we sat and there was a bit of a draft but the other side of the same table was fine. We were seated in the outer corner of the room behind the bar area.
The service was good and the dishes came out hit and fairly quickly.
Overall, we enjoyed the experience and the options for healthy and tasty food.
For this particular visit, our Waiter was quite surly. Hovered and seemed annoyed in general. Quite noisy inside — hard to converse at regular volume level. Food was good, though fried asparagus was over cooked and batter very dark. Went on a Sunday for brunch and everything was great
There is something for everyone at this tapas restaurant. Paella is always a hit but note there is about a 25 minute lead time for this. Must try the asparagus spears at a minimum. There is enough variation to order multiple small plates to share with the table. Small plates are large enough to share with one or two. One surprise with desert when ordering ice cream - this came out as 6 almost 'normal' sized scoops of different (wonderful) flavored ice creams. It was a lot to finish after having a few small plates for entrees. High class problem to have...the three of us managed to finish most of it :-D
Isabella's is our go-to dinner spot prior to the Community Theater a block or so away. The tapas selection is varied, but not so large as to make it too hard to choose. We like to share around the table and split the check. The staff are very helpful with recommendations and explanations, and very attentive.
We went to Isabella's for my birthday. It was bitterly cold so we arrived early and sat at the bar until close to our reservation time. The bartenders were friendly and attentive and they had a nice selection of specialty cocktails to choose from. We had very tasty dinner of tapas and entrees. The waiter Brian was young but served us well and he could take some kidding around. When Isabella's found out it was my birthday the chef put together a beautiful assortment of Isabella desserts' small bites on a platter for the table. Delightful! We would happily return there.
It is always delightful eating at Isabella’s. The food, service and atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect. There is a wide variety of dishes to choose on the menu and you can’t go wrong with any of your choices. I highly recommend Isabella’s for lunch, dinner or in between snack. The food is superb!
Came for an early NYE dinner with out of town guests. Other than being seated unnecessarily just inside the door, the experience was very good. We were not rushed, and the food was delicious. I will say, I ordered a bottle of wine which on the menu was a 2013, but when it arrived it was a 2014. Wine was still good, but worth noting the discrepancy.
