Isabella's - Frederick
It was good, but a bit disappointing. I had heard about this place from a couple of friends, so I guess I had high expectations.
The tapas at Isabella’s are fantastic - I always love their sizzling garlic shrimp and their mini short ribs and goat cheese on brioche, and they didn’t disappoint! For any vegans reading this - one of the four of us in our group on Saturday was (is!) vegan, and they were very accommodating about turning dishes into vegan-friendly options where possible. I must say their always terrific Brussels sprouts were yummy even without the meat and cheese!
There were 7 of us celebrating a birthday. Some of us were familiar with the tapas format, others were not - but they figured it out quickly!
Everything we ordered was tasty and delivered quickly. I especially liked the figs with slivered ham and dry cheese dish and the mussels entrée. I was lucky enough to get the last bottle of stout so I have no complaints.
The friends who had never been to Isabella's were appropriately impressed also.
My family & I love Isabella’s. We almost always choose it for special occasions & sometimes just because.
The food was delicious. This was the first time I had Spanish tapas. It was a fun experience.
Everything was great! We had a great dinner and the food was amazing. And the way they timed out coming to the table was really well done.
Shrimp and Scallop paella at $25 seemed a bit expensive for the amount you receive, but all othertapas were great
Sangria was good but not great
Very nice place. A little pricey for small plates but a nice change of pace
Wonderful service and delicious food.
We had lunch with friends and we all enjoyed it.
really a unique dining experience with great choices - yummy!!!
Been there before but haven’t gone back for some time. A beautiful evening in Frederick, outdoor sitting, great service, and a great vibe in town made our dining experience wonderful.
A wonderful dinner. There was four of us and I think we shared 7 tapas total. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to go again.
The food is good but overpriced.. The tapas specials are very expensive. Bronzino was $17 for a small piece of fish that three os us barely had a taste of. We have been to many tapas places here and in Spain. Just not impressed with the portions. Our waitress was good but we felt she was rushing us. We had to aak for spoons to serve the tapas and bread. When we ordered our 2nd round of food, we asked for clean plates. The server looked at us as if we were a burden. She brought the plates but did. Ot remove the dirty ones, we had to ask her! For their price point, we shouldn’t have to ask for bread and clean plates.
Isabella's never disappoints. Wonderful food, drink and atmosphere!
Great atmosphere! I enjoyed the fried asparagus sticks and red wine sangria.
Delicious food. We enjoyed exploring all the different choices. Don't pass up desert, especially the apple turnover!
A lively HH at the bar with a nice perk to receive 2 nicely prepared wings with every discounted drink order. Then we moved to the table for early dinner where things were just average, and did not create the urge to be repeated any time soon. The sauce for the fried asparagus was a particular highlight, and the rib sandwich was above average. Eh.!
Absolutely outstanding. We've eaten at Isabella's about five times and introduced our friends to it last Saturday; they were blown away by the quality of the food and service and very pleased by the cost.
Great as usual. Only issue was we requested outdoor seating on our reservation and it wasn’t available.
Great place. Tapas right portion sizes so can try many dishes.
Love Isabella’s! Great place to get together with the girls! Great timing sharing delicious food and wonderful conversation. Always a great experience here!
Great food, great service. I would go more often but it is a bit pricey.
Had a gal pal join me - her first time there_ and she loved it! Said she'd next bring her boyfriend.
Fried asparagus french fries were delicious! So much that we got a second order. Love the portion sizes and the different flavors. Service was wonderful. The host waitress and another waiter were very helpful in recommending their favorite foods for us to order. It was nice being able to order different foods at reasonable prices and try several different things. We sat outside so it was a bit noisy along with smokers Out front that can make your stomach turn if you don’t like to be around them. I would definitely go back but next time eat inside.
My wife and I have been loyal Isabella customers for over a decade. The food is wonderfully prepared and the menu selections are quite extensive. Our date began with the quirky waiter’s greeting, then he left us for 10 minutes. Back again, he asked us if we were ready, and we were...for a cocktail. I asked him if we could get bread (my wife can’t drink on an empty stomach) and he answered that they do have bread but he can’t serve any bread until we order food because “we have had a lot of problems with people who order just bread and no food.” Really?
A weird start for sure, but regardless of the aloof waiter, the food was great. Asparagus fries were sweet and crunchy, the Brie, another favorite. After sharing several other plates, we finished with a short rib plate that was a home run. When we ordered it the waiter said that it was his favorite. Short Rib with onion marmalade on toasted brioche. Amazing!
Go and enjoy great and uniquely prepared food and make sure you have the Short Ribs!
Absolutely our favorite spot. Every thing on the menu is freshly made. They are conscious of allergies and can leave out ingredients on most dishes. Unlike other restaurants, almost all sauces are freshly made. Service is impeccable.
Good food and service. Great way to try new/different foods. Relaxing pacing.
Always a treat! Love the asparagus fries! Service is great and friendly.
The food was great but they refused to take the opentable rewards!
Very good meal and great service. The theme of Tapas is great because you can taste many different foods.
the short ribs were the only dish I would go back for. The paella and salmon were very bland
A wonderful experience. The staff was courteous. The food was delicious. Overall a great time. Highly recommend Isabella’s.
always delicious!! staff is awesome!! not too big or small.. just perfect! one of our favorite downtown spots!
Isabella’s was great! The food was delicious and the server was very attentive. We celebrated our anniversary and it was the perfect choice.
The food was excellent and well presented. Exquisite tastes came through. Out of all the dishes we ordered, there was not a single 'meh'. Orders came out quickly. Wait staff was attentive - a real team effort. Loved dining al fresco. Look forward tour next visit. We plan to bring other family members - they would love Isabella's too!
The tapas were delicious. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed catching up with an old friend. We were not rushed.
Servings are too small and /or overpriced and even though I mentioned on my reservation that this was for a special birthday, they couldn’t be bothered to stick a candle in anything. We had to stop for ice cream afterward since we were still hungry after spending $100+.
